Download or read book Line and Scribble written by Debora Vogrig and published by Chronicle Books. This book was released on 2021-05-11 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Line and Scribble is a picture book that celebrates imagination and friendship through simple shapes. Line and Scribble do things differently. Line goes straight while Scribble wanders. Line walks a tightrope as Scribble bursts into fireworks. Line likes to draw with a ruler, and Scribble, well . . . doesn't. But no matter how different they may seem, Line and Scribble always have enough in common to be best friends. • A friendship story that embraces differences instead of competing • Emphasizes how imagination, creativity, and art can change how we see the world—and each other • Promotes visual literacy, recognition, and learning to make connections From constellations to roller coasters and breadsticks to bubbles, Line and Scribble shows how the two can come together to create beautiful, moving, and delightfully unexpected results. This sweet book brims with opportunities for young readers to engage with the building blocks of familiar shapes (lines, circles, squiggles), as well as spotting opposites and differences. • Harold and the Purple Crayon meets Press Here in this highly visual, effortlessly imaginative friendship story. • Resonates year-round as a go-to new gift for birthdays and holidays • Perfect for children ages 3 to 5 years old • Makes a great pick for parents and grandparents, as well as librarians and teachers. • You'll love this book if you love books like Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh, I'm NOT just a Scribble . . . by Diane Alber, and Eraser by Anna Kang.
Download or read book Drawing Is Fun written by Leo Buckley and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-09-22 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a working artist, Leo Buckley was invited to talk to the sixth grade of a local primary school. The resulting question and answer session revealed an enormous appetite of the students for some simple rules to enable them to improve their drawing abilities. They had been unable to find this information, at their level, in any book in the bookshops; saying that the only available books either assumed knowledge which they did not have, or else treated the topics so briefly as to be scarcely helpful. As result, Leo returned with a few instructive talks on some of the basic principles of drawing. Using feedback from the pupils and teachers, the talks were developed into a fairly comprehensive series on the subject which soon become in great demand by other schools. For many years, Leo has presented the talks to schools covering a wide variety of schools and pupils and, eventually, including adult classes. Throughout this extended period the lessons were modified, adjusted in contents and rearranged into the most logical sequence to better suit the need of this widening range of students. At the frequent request of teachers and students (of all age groups) Leo examined the possibility of compiling a book which would follow the successful pattern of his lectures ; even to the extent of displaying the illustrations and text on opposite pages as in a “chalk and talk” classroom environment. This innovative (and easy to follow) method simplified the presentation enormously and he found that the lectures almost immediately fell into book form.

It is one of the recognized national level examination that demands focussed study along with forethought, systematic planning and exactitude. Postgraduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) is also one of those examinations, a student has to face to get admission in various postgraduate programs. So, in order to become up to snuff for this eligibility clause (qualifying GATE/PGECET), a student facing a very high competition should excel his/her standards to success by way of preparing from the standard books. I personally find this book very useful and only one of its kind in the market because this book gives complete analysis of the chapterwise questions based on the previous years’ examination. Moreover, all solutions are fully explained, with a reference to the concerned book given after each solution. It definitely helps in the elimination of redundant topics which are not important from examination point of view. So, the students will be able to reduce the volume of text matter to be studied. Besides, solutions are presented in lucid and understandable language for an average student.” —Dr. T. Venugopal, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, JNTUH, Jagtial “Overall, I think this book represents an extremely valuable and unique contribution to the competitive field because it captures a wealth of GATE/PGECET examination’s preparation experience in a compact and reusable form. This book is certainly one that I shall turn into a regular practice for all entrance examinations’ preparation guides. This book will change the way of preparation for all competitive examinations.” —Professor L.V.N. Prasad, CEO, Vardhaman College of Engineering, Hyderabad “I began to wish that someone would compile all the important abstracting information into one reference, as the need for a single reference book for aspirants had become even more apparent. I have been thinking about this project for several years, as I have conducted many workshops and training programs. This book is full of terms, phrases, examples and other key information as well as guidelines that will be helpful not only for the students or the young engineers but also for the instructors.” —Professor R. Muraliprasad, Professional Trainer, GATE/IES/PSU, Hyderabad The book, which will prove to be an epitome of learning the concepts of CS and IT for GATE/PGECET examination, is purely intended for the aspirants of GATE and PGECET examinations. It should also be of considerable utility and worth to the aspirants of UGC-NET as well as to those who wish to pursue career in public sector units like ONGC, NTPC, ISRO, BHEL, BARC, DRDO, DVC, Power-grid, IOCL and many more. In addition, the book is also of immense use for the placement coordinators of GATE/PGECET.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Extensive research conducted by the Hasso Plattner Design Thinking Research Program at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, USA, and the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, Germany, has yielded valuable insights on why and how design thinking works. Researchers have identified metrics, developed models, and conducted studies, which are featured in this book, and in the previous volumes of this series. Offering readers a closer look at design thinking, and its innovation processes and methods, this volume covers topics ranging from understanding success factors of design thinking to exploring the potential that lies in the use of digital technologies. Furthermore, readers learn how special-purpose design thinking can be used to solve thorny problems in complex fields, such as the health sector or software development. Thinking and devising innovations are inherently human activities – so is design thinking. Accordingly, design thinking is not merely the result of special courses or of being gifted or trained: it is a way of dealing with our environment and improving techniques, technologies and life. As such, the research outcomes compiled in this book should increase knowledge and provide inspiration to all seeking to drive innovation – be they experienced design thinkers or newcomers.
