Book excerpt: Vedas are considered as an ocean of knowledge. Every bit of Vedas is very important each stanza, each line, each word has a significant meaning to it. For the language also supports its purpose. It is said that Sanskrit is the only nearest language which could be used to explain or describe anything clearly and specifically. It is the only Vedic Dharma where religion and Science go in hand to hand. The Vedas contain in them the gems of all true sciences. The book Science in Veda deals with the combined approaches of modern science and ancient Vedic science. As we know that Indian Scriptures and Sanskrit literature is the storehouse of knowledge. As we go through this literature they have innumerable illustrations of Science, technology, arts, music, dance, environment, architecture, vehicles etc. The present book is an attempt to explore the knowledge of science, penetrate the mystery of the Vedas and to search out in them the various branches of Science. The book is divided into ten chapters describing the importance of water as described in our vedic literature.

Whether it is the contribution of physics, biology, medicine, neurobiology, psychology or other branches of science, the ongoing efforts are entirely an attempt to understand this universal consciousness. However, these ideas are not new: and they have their roots in the Rig Veda, the world’s first book. It deals with Consciousness in entirety. Compiled by the Angirasa Rishis, the Rig Veda is an exposition of the route one can follow to successfully merge the Individual Consciousness and the Universal Consciousness. Gleanings from Rig Veda are an attempt to cull out these transient understandings from centuries ago.

Book excerpt: The ?igveda is the first book of humankind and the most sacred scripture of Hinduism. It also happens to be the most ill-understood book of our times. Despite the extensive study by academic and religious scholars, the purpose and meaning of the ?igveda and many ancient Hindu scriptures remain unclear. In this pathbreaking book, the discovery of the ?igveda as a book of ancient cosmology is described, and related to the seals of ancient Indus Valley Civilization, thereby challenging our perception of humanity."The Vedas have always been lauded as containing the secrets of cosmogenesis. Raja Roy in his remarkable book shows how this is true not only from the yogic vison but according to the latest insights of modern physics. The book takes the reader on a vast panoramic journey through the universe of matter, mind and human history as well."David Frawley (Vamadeva Shastri), Director, American Institute of Vedic Studies"Roy presents a new framework for the understanding of the Vedic hymns from the point of view of physics and then he draws parallels with recent theories on the nature of the universe. We celebrate the new path he has hewn through the bush of old scholarship."Professor Subhash Kak, Oklahoma State University

Book excerpt: The Vedic Chants were declared a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2003 and added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2008. However, only very few people in Western cultures know that the Vedas are the origin of all world religions, and even less that they, as such, do not contain a faith but a science. The word Vedas translated from Sanskrit means "science", not "faith". The biggest problem in understanding this science, besides its enormous abundance of writings, for the study of which a normal human life is hardly sufficient, is that its scientific explanations can only be found encoded in mystical language. There is also no one who has a more understandable version of it, not even among the Brahmins in India, because the Vedas were given to humans at a time when they were not yet able to understand them in scientific language. The oldest swastika ever found (Mezine, Ukraine), symbol of Hinduism, gives us an idea of when that was: about 18,000 years ago, towards the end of the last ice age. Rishi Siddhartha, who has personally experienced the highest Brahman, has now succeeded in deciphering the Vedas for the first time ever, and his book is aimed at Veda students who are already familiar with the most important Vedic concepts and are keen to gain a scientific understanding of the like. It contains, in line with this objective, a physical treatise and therefore requires knowledge of physics at high school level, an excellent spatial imagination and high intelligence for understanding, because the scientific understanding of the Vedas is a mental quantum leap from the current materialistic science of our perceptible ,,relative reality" (Vedic designation) to the millennia-old science of the superimposed ,,absolute reality" of Brahman, which draws a completely different worldview that is far too complex and grand for a human being ever to come up with. An excerpt from this book appeared just a few weeks after its publication as leading article in the German Nexus Magazine (Issue No. 86) and triggered a wave of enthusiasm and amazement, because the millennia-old Vedas obviously contain the all-explanatory world formula (,,Theory of everything" = T.O.E.) that modern science is looking for. Accordingly, all phenomena of the material world consist of three different types of electromagnetic waves (Gunas) that are projected from outside into the universe and carried (as Prana) by the smallest units of space (Akasha) in synchronism with their integrated resonant circuits (Shabda) throughout the entire universe, to meet in phase in just one place (similar to a holography) and transform there into matter or living beings (Maya). The first part of this book contains a summary of all relevant scientific statements of the Vedas and reveals how the universe, matter and living beings came into existence and how they function. In the second part, the deciphered Vedic Science is applied to the pyramids and reveals virtuously their purpose and function! The fact that with pyramids the quantum flow (prana) can also be used as an inexhaustible source of energy is undoubtedly the most important side result at that. So much in advance: the sound of the OM, the most sacred mantra in Hinduism and Buddhism, plays a central role at that. It carries us to the Sea of Causes (Karanodak) outside the universe. There, the smallest units of space (Akasha) take on water-like properties and, thanks to their cluster intelligence, form an intelligent, living and autonomous organism ... Brahman ... the Cosmic Consciousness ... origin of all life and all matter!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the oldest libraries of texts in India is the Vedas. Vedic texts are painstakingly corrected by the teacher. Instructors and students still teach them orally today. Virtual classrooms have allowed females to learn the Vedas and how they were changed through technology. Samaveda has a much more intricate connection with Rigveda than the other Vedas. Because all its verses except seventy-five are directly drawn from the Rigveda, it holds great historical significance. The eighth and especially the ninth of the Soma book provide the bulk of its content. It is similar to the Yajurveda in having been composed only for ritual use since the verses are all intended for chanting during the offering ceremonies. Unlike those in the Rigveda, these stanzas appear in the Sama-Veda as if they were to be spoken or recited. Their significance is solely determined by their relevance to particular rites, removed from their context in the Rigveda. The Vedas have been the subject of voluminous literature over the centuries, written in many languages, including English. Due to their symbolic language, the Vedas remain elusive. Despite exploring every ancient Indian sourcebook, Shankara, Ramanuja, and Madhva did not write full commentaries on the Vedas. Vedas are enigmatic and ethereal, and this adds to their mystery. In contrast to the voluminous commentary on Upanishads, Bhagawad Gita, Brahma sutras, and Mahapuranas, Sri Madhva wrote a short Rigbhyasya. Sayana Madhava, also known as Sayanacharya, is the most common source of information on the Vedas. Vedic texts are covered in complete detail in this voluminous work, basically a literal translation of the Vedas. Those who criticize it point out that it ignores the Vedas' symbolism and the Vedic tenets' hidden meanings. It is for this reason that the Vedas remain inadequately illuminated. In addition, Vedic Sanskrit differs from classical Sanskrit, a currently taught, written, and spoken language. A widespread family of languages, the proto-Indo-European languages, is derived from it. It was used as a book of words by Ugatri priests who preserved and lost knowledge.ts who preserved and lost knowledge. In the various songbooks known as Ganas, which show the prolongation, repetition, and interpolation of syllables necessary in singing in European publications, when the words are given below the musical notation, the stanzas assume the moral character of musical Samans or chants.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rites and customs of the Vedic Sanatan religion are not orthodox—as propagated by some rationalists—but are full of scientific knowledge and wisdom that have helped preserve nature and society until recent times. But both of these are now deteriorating very quickly. The concept of all pervading BRAHMAN in the Vedic Sanatan religion is quite similar to the concept of the Quantum Field of Energy in modern science as both are formless, infinite and omnipresent. There are many similar scientific connotations in the tenets and rites of the religion. Furthermore, if some elements of nature such as wells/rivers and plants/trees are regarded as deities and worshipped, it is not orthodoxy but helps create strong social awareness for the protection of nature through religion. If people worship something, they will not destroy it; it is a simple psyche. No such awareness exists anywhere in the modern scientific world, and the result is severe degradation of water and forest resources these days. Can rationalists understand such underlying philosophies in religious rites and customs? So, this book is a must-read for nature lovers to understand how ancient science in the Vedic Sanatan religion helped protect our environment, which is now falling apart at an alarming rate.
