Book excerpt: This collection contains personal correspondence, photographs, diaries, scrapbooks, and newspaper clippings. It also contains ephemera relating to the Blue Hill community, such as a collection of wedding announcements (1895-1959) and junior exhibition and commencement programs from Bluehill-George Stevens Academy (1906-1919). Of special note are items associated with the Bluehill House, including guest books from the time of Luman and Georgia's proprietorship (1948-1960). In addition to materials relating to Georgia and Luman, this collection contains documents associated with other members of the Sargent/Hatch families, primarily Georgias mother Hannah. The diaries in this collection were identified as Hannah Fullerton's due to the subject matter (references to her daughters and husband, Ed) and handwriting. The scrapbook that contains material relating to the town of Castine, Me., ca. 1890 is most likely from Marianna and Jonathan Hatch, who lived in Castine in the latter part of the the 19th century. Other family members whose materials may be represented in this collection include Luman's parents (Marianna Weber (1856-1940) and Jonathan Hatch (1844-1925) and his sisters Christina, Byrde, and Ruth. Other entities represented include the Eastern State Normal School (Castine, Me.).
