Außerdem werden ein Einblick in die Geschichte dieser Menschen verschafft und einige Integrationsmaßnahmen des Bundes vorgestellt. Aber auch ihre Probleme und Schwierigkeiten in der deutschen Gesellschaft finden Erwähnung. Im Anschluss werden drei Integrationskonzepte für Spätaussiedler vorgestellt und kritisch hinterfragt. Der Begriff „Integration“ ist nicht unumstritten, kann ihn doch jeder nach Bedarf für sich selbst auslegen. Oft sind die geführten Diskussionen sehr kontrovers und kommen nur selten auf einen gemeinsamen. Die Integrationsforderer verlangen eine Anpassung der Zuwanderer an die hiesige deutsche Gesellschaft, denn nur zu gern zählt man negative Beispiele von „Desintegration“ auf, die sich auch in Form von Gesetzesverstößen niederschlagen. Diese Forderung ist jedoch oft sehr pauschal formuliert und liefert nur selten wirkliche Lösungsansätze. Dagegen fühlen sich die Zuwanderer im Ausleben ihrer kulturellen und religiösen Traditionen stark eingegrenzt und lehnen eine pauschale Verurteilung und Einmischung ab. Nicht zuletzt monieren sie die ungleiche Chanceverteilung, die für sie in den verschiedensten Bereichen zu spüren ist. Obwohl sie Einwanderer mit Sonderstatus sind, werden auch russlanddeutsche Spätaussiedler nicht aus der Integrationsdebatte ausgeklammert. Lange Zeit galt diese Gruppe als besonders anpassungsfähig und somit als integriert in die deutsche Gesellschaft. Doch mit dem Zusammenbruch des Ostblocks erreichte der Zustrom von Aussiedlern enorme Dimensionen. Allmählich wurde Kritik laut, diese Zuwanderer würden sich nicht integrieren wollen. In den Medien verbreiteten sich Schlagworte wie „Russenmafia“, „Klein-Moskau“ oder „Sozialschmarotzer“ im Zusammenhang mit den Spätaussiedlern. [...]

Durch meinen Namen wird dem Leser schnell klar, dass ich keine Deutsche bin. Ich bin aber auch keine Aussiedlerin, sondern russische Staatsbürgerin. Genau wie die Aussiedler, versuche ich mich seit vier Jahren in die deutsche Gesellschaft zu integrieren. Jetzt stehe ich am Ende meines Studiums und hatte die Möglichkeit für meine Bachelorarbeit ein Thema zu wählen, das mich sehr interessiert. Obwohl viel über Russlanddeutsche, Spätaussiedler und Aussiedler diskutiert und auch in den Medien berichtet wird, wissen die wenigsten Einheimischen wer eigentlich hinter diesen Bezeichnungen steckt (siehe hierzu Anhang 02). Der Begriff Russlanddeutsche wird allgemein für die Nachfahren deutscher Kolonisten verwendet, die in den Nachfolgestaaten der UdSSR leben. Diese Bezeichnung wurde aus dem Russischen abgeleitet und hat keinen rechtlichen Status. Die Russlanddeutschen nennen sich in ihrem Herkunftsland russkie nemcy . Als Aussiedler wird eine Person (hier ein Russlanddeutscher ) bezeichnet, die als deutscher Staatsangehöriger oder Volkszugehöriger nach Abschluss der allgemeinen Vertreibungsmaßnahmen ihr Herkunftsgebiet verlassen und im Bundesgebiet ihren ständigen Aufenthaltsort hat. Der Begriff des Aussiedlers wurde ab dem 01.01.1993 durch den Begriff des Spätaussiedlers ersetzt. Um ein Verständnis dafür zu bekommen, aus welchen Gründen Russlanddeutsche nach Deutschland eingewandert sind bzw. einwandern und woher sie ihre deutschen Wurzeln haben, wird in Kapitel 1 erläutert, warum sich eine deutschstämmige Minderheit in Russland entwickelt und wie sie sich dauerhaft etablieren konnte. Die Aussiedlung nach Deutschland wird in Kapitel 2 behandelt. Im Jahr 1950 lebten rund vier Millionen Deutsche außerhalb der alten Reichsgrenzen von 1937 im Osten Europas, ein Großteil von ihnen in der Sowjetunion. Das Grundgesetz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bezeichnet diese Menschen und ihre Nachkommen als deutsche Volkszugehörige . Sie sind berechtigt, als Aussiedler nach Deutschland einzureisen. Die Schlagwörter Märtyrer und Migranten belegen die gegenwärtig die Gesellschaften in Deutschland und Russland unterschiedlich bewegenden Tendenzen öffentlicher bzw. kultureller Diskurse, deren direkte Vergleichbarkeit nicht von vornherein gegeben ist.

In Counterworks, ten anthropologists examine the ways in which global processes have affected particular localities where they have carried out research.
