Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Her life became like a pendulum that never stops swinging in the wrong direction as if it was meant to give the worst possible anguish to the heart that nurtured inside her chest! Her breathes were going to get shorter with every second that would pass by now and the only person who could save her was you!”, ~Hannah The girl of Leo’s dreams had faded into a world amid darkness from where maybe she would never be able to return as this was the truth and nothing could challenge it at all. She had been severely affected not only physically but mentally as well and that could be felt within the glow of her eyes which changed the moment she saw her partner in front of her and couldn’t possess control over the downstream river of tears that led down their way through her eyes. She had only a few rough days left in her because she had finally come to know about the mental disorder, she was suffering through which was eventually leading her into thinking about things in the most pessimistic way possible because one way or the other she had lost faith that she would survive. The doctor had already claimed that she had roughly a few weeks within her as a living being as a time was going to come when her soul would not bare further on this path which was led with goosebumps to pinch roughness in your skin and eventually make the cuts to let your blood flow. But irrespective of this, the only person who still had hope left within him for the survival of this kind charming girl was nobody else other than Leo, who could swear do anything, and put everything in his life at stake if needed to save her. Day and night he went on his way to find ways through which he could just possibly find help and the best medicative treatment possible in their whole country because no matter what he would no way give up, as he highly believed one or the other science would help his queen get away from this heartbreaking disorder and live a normal life once again like they all did by wearing a smile on their face. His efforts were consistent and over the bounds but still no matter what he was in no way able to find what to do and what to not because somewhere no doctor was ready to treat her as this was a genuine case of fatality and so they whatsoever didn’t want themselves to engage in such cases. Leo, day by day felt as if his efforts weren’t worth it but at the end of the day, he always convinced himself that no matter what he would never give up and would just keep going till the end because inside himself he had the potential of making the impossible happen as he believed God Jesus Christ would at some point save his partner so that they could together complete their unfulfilled dreams. Will they succeed? Will Leo ever be able to save the girl who ventured into the dreams of his life, day and night? These were some tough questions that this long tale of love was surely going to answer, but when was not something that could be affirmed!

Download or read book Gogol's Artistry written by Andrei Bely and published by Northwestern University Press. This book was released on 2009-07-05 with total page 506 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When one great author engages another, as Andrei Bely so brilliantly does in Gogol’s Artistry, the result is inevitably a telling portrait of both writers. So it is in Gogol’s Artistry. Translated into English for the first time, this idiosyncratic, exhaustive critical study is as interesting for what it tells us about Bely’s thought and method as it is for its insights into the oeuvre of his literary predecessor. Bely’s argument in this book is that Gogol’s earlier writing should be given more consideration than most critics have granted. Employing what might be called a scientific perspective, Bely considers how often certain colors appear; he diagrams sentences and discusses Gogol’s prose in terms of mathematical equations. The result, as strange and engaging as Bely’s best fiction, is also an innovative, thorough, and remarkably revealing work of criticism.

Book Synopsis Aesthetics of Ugliness by : Karl Rosenkranz
Download or read book Aesthetics of Ugliness written by Karl Rosenkranz and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2015-07-30 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this key text in the history of art and aesthetics, Karl Rosenkranz shows ugliness to be the negation of beauty without being reducible to evil, materiality, or other negative terms used it's conventional condemnation. This insistence on the specificity of ugliness, and on its dynamic status as a process afflicting aesthetic canons, reflects Rosenkranz's interest in the metropolis - like Walter Benjamin, he wrote on Paris and Berlin - and his voracious collecting of caricature and popular prints. Rosenkranz, living and teaching, like Kant, in remote Königsberg, reflects on phenomena of modern urban life from a distance that results in critical illumination. The struggle with modernization and idealist aesthetics makes Aesthetics of Ugliness, published four years before Baudelaire's Fleurs du Mal, hugely relevant to modernist experiment as well as to the twenty-first century theoretical revival of beauty. Translated into English for the first time, Aesthetics of Ugliness is an indispensable work for scholars and students of modern aesthetics and modernist art, literary studies and cultural theory, which fundamentally reworks conceptual understandings of what it means for a thing to be ugly.
Book Synopsis Our Sportive Origin by : D. O. W. Randolph Purdy
Download or read book Our Sportive Origin written by D. O. W. Randolph Purdy and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2006 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anyone caring for or ravaged by a chronic illness, a need for hope and healing, or an interest in spiritual exploration, will be interested in Dr. Purdy's journey. This is a soul-searching human interest story for all. Our Sportive Origin: An Archetype for Healing (A Personal Story) is an autobiography, combining narration, journaling, and poetry to describe the life lived, being lived, by Dr. W. Randolph Purdy. At times it presents more-or-less like a stream of consciousness beginning with early childhood athletic experiences, early adulthood successes, and then the unraveling of professional and personal life due to a devastating, disabling illness. He reveals his life-long involvement in athletics, with its attendant injuries as well as its joys and values, along with his life-long need for learning. The context throughout the book focuses on the intellectual and ultimately spiritual underpinnings of athleticism. There is a cogent argument that our "sportive origin" provides the author and potentially any one of us with an archetype for healing and remembered wellness.

Book Synopsis The Good Little Girl by : Annette Stephens
Download or read book The Good Little Girl written by Annette Stephens and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2012-10-15 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On her eleventh birthday, Annette’s parents gave her a cowgirl suit. She loved it: she put it on immediately, and set off for her favourite playground, in a nearby park. Some time later she returned home, her flesh scraped and bruised, her brand new suit now dirty and torn. Annette didn’t answer when her parents asked her what had happened. She didn’t know what to say, so she kept quiet. She would keep quiet for a long time after that day … This powerful autobiography tells the sad story of a life stunted in childhood. Traumatised by a brutal assault, Annette retreats into herself. Many years pass before she seeks help: a friend recommends a ‘personal development organisation’. Before she knows it, she has fallen into the clutching hands of a cult called Kenja. Forsaking her children, her home, her job and her finances, she devotes herself with a convert’s zeal to Kenja’s activities, doing menial jobs to raise money for its leaders, spending all of her life’s savings on its ‘courses’, and recruiting members of the public to join its ranks. Over time, Annette realises that, for all she has given to Kenja, she has not improved, and is instead completely dependent on the group for her self-esteem. She wants to get out but finds herself unable to: she can’t stop being the prey. When she eventually does act – having suffered further assaults, and witnessed others – she is devastated, forsaken and despised by the only community she has ever belonged to. Determined to bring Kenja’s leader to justice – and, in the process, find some redemption and perhaps even peace for herself – Annette embarks on a legal odyssey. The Good Little Girl is Annette’s story about a traumatic beginning and journey to a triumphant ending.

Book Synopsis The First World War by : Manfried Rauchensteiner
Download or read book The First World War written by Manfried Rauchensteiner and published by Böhlau Wien. This book was released on 2014-07-24 with total page 1063 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The well-respected historian Manfried Rauchensteiner analyses the outbreak of World War I, Emperor Franz Joseph's role in the conflict, and how the various nationalities of the Habsburg Monarchy reacted to the disintegration of this 640-yearold empire in 1918. After Archduke Franz Ferdinand"s assassination in Sarajevo in 1914, war was inevitable. Emperor Franz Joseph intended it, and everyone in Vienna expected it. How the war began and how Austria-Hungary managed to avoid capitulation only weeks later with the help of German troops reads like a thriller. Manfried Rauchensteiner"s book is based on decades of research and is a fascinating read to the very end, even though the final outcome, the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy, is already known. Originally published in German in 2013 by Böhlau, this standard work is now available in English.
