Book excerpt: "Past study of Rom 1:16-3:26 focuses on individual salvation or on social relations and also produces a host of interpretative quandaries. Marcus A. Mininger develops a new approach, which includes but goes beyond these foci, by unearthing the theme of revelation that runs throughout Paul's argument largely unnoticed. More than a proof of sin or of social equality, Paul provides a survey of numerous visible revelations, in which otherwise invisible realities like God's wrath, the power of sin, and God's righteousness are seen through the observable effects they produce in different people. Read this way, the rationale of Paul's argument becomes quite clear, including for "problem texts" like Rom 2 and 3:1-8, as Paul proves that the gospel, not the law, overcomes sin's power and that God's righteousness always exists in contrast to the human condition in this age."--! Present Your Members as Instruments of Righteousness (Romans 6:12-19) The gospel of the water and the Spirit is God`s righteousness! The words in this book will satisfy the thirst in your heart. Today`s Christians continue to live while not knowing the true solution to the actual sins that they are committing daily. Do you know what God`s righteousness is? I hope that you will ask yourself this question and believe in God`s righteousness, which is revealed in this book. God`s righteousness has been with the gospel of the water and the Spirit. However, like a precious treasure, it has been kept hidden from the eyes of religious followers for a long time. As a result, many people came to rely on and boast of their own righteousness instead of believing in God`s righteousness. Therefore, Christian doctrines that don`t even make sense came to be dominant beliefs in the hearts of believers, as if these doctrines contained God`s righteousness. The Doctrines of Predestination, Justification, and Incremental Sanctification are the major Christian doctrines, which brought confusion and emptiness into the souls of believers. But now, many Christians should newly come to know God, learn about His righteousness and continue in the assured faith. "Our Lord who becomes the righteousness of God" will provide your soul with a great understanding and lead it to peace. The author wants you to possess the blessing of knowing God`s righteousness. May God`s blessing be with you! The New Life Mission https://www.bjnewlife.org

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advocates of the New Perspective on Paul appeal to the view that "righteousness" in biblical theology is a Verhaltnisbegriff (relational concept). This is the view that "righteousness" does not mean conformity to a norm, nor is it an essentially legal concept; rather, "righteousness" denotes the fulfillment of the demands of a relationship, since the relationship itself is the norm. This relational interpretation of "righteousness" was first put forward by Hermann Cremer in 1899 and exercised a profound influence in biblical scholarship throughout the 20th century. It lies at the root of the New Perspective claim that "the righteousness of God" in Paul is a cipher for God's saving faithfulness to his covenant, a view defended by N. T. Wright, among others. Charles Lee Irons provides a critical examination of Cremer's chief arguments for the relational, covenant-faithfulness interpretation. The author argues instead for the view that "the righteousness of God" in Rom 1:17; 3: 21-22; 10:3; 2 Cor 5:21; and Phil 3:9 is the status of righteousness that comes from God as a gift.

Do Not Judge Each Other CHAPTER 15 1. Let Us Spread the Gospel Throughout the Entire World CHAPTER 16 1. Greet One Another The righteousness of God is transparent and it is different from the righteousness of human beings. God`s righteousness is revealed in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, which was completed by the baptism of Jesus by John and His blood on the Cross. We must return to the faith in God`s righteousness before it is too late. Do you know why Jesus had to be baptized by John the Baptist? If John hadn`t baptized Jesus, our sins wouldn`t have been passed onto Him. John the Baptist was the greatest man of all, and the baptism that he gave to Jesus was the absolute requirement for God to pass our sins away from us and onto Jesus. Jesus was baptized to bear all the sins of the world on His shoulder, and bled on the Cross to pay their whole wages. All these things have completely changed my past understanding of what it is to be born again, when I knew only of the blood on the Cross. God has now taught you what His righteousness is so that we may fully know and believe in His righteousness. I thank the Lord for all these blessings. The New Life Mission https://www.bjnewlife.org

Yet among these scriptural sources the apostle evidences a unique indebtedness to the prophecy of Isaiah. Robert C. Olson explains how, from this great prophecy and its redemptive narrative centering in "the proclamation of good news," Paul derives all the major facets of the gospel he sets forth in the epistle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a Bible Study that incorporates the "SOAPing" Bible Study Methods. The book of Romans is one of my favorite books in the Bible because the doctrines taught through this book have provided me with so much encouragement. I have used the "Roman Road" many times when sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with other people. In fact, the "Roman Road" was presented to me when I gave me heart and life to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for every word provided through the Bible and it is difficult to choose one book as my favorite, but it is not difficult to say that the book of Romans is on my short list of favorites. Romans is the Christians book of clear DOCTRINE! The primary theme is "The Righteousness of God in Christ." The book of Romans can be divided into three sections that will guide us throughout this exciting Bible Study. The first section of Romans teaches us about people's need of God's righteousness. The second section reveals WHO God's provision for righteousness is, Jesus Christ. The last section of Romans provides us with encouragement for living in the power of the Holy Spirit who enables us to demonstrate God's righteousness in our lives!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this new contribution to the New Testament Library, renowned New Testament scholar Beverly Roberts Gaventa offers a fresh account of Paul's Letter to the Romans as an event, both in the sense that it reflects a particular historical moment in Paul's labors and in the sense that it reflects the event God brings about in the gospel Paul represents. Attention to that dual sense of event means that Gaventa attends to the literary, historical, and theological features of the letter. Throughout the commentary, Gaventa keeps in view central questions of what Paul hoped the letter might accomplish among its listeners in Rome and how his auditors might have heard it when read by Phoebe. In posing potential answers to these questions, Gaventa touches on vital themes such as the intrusion of the gospel of Jesus Christ that prompts Paul to write in the first place, what that event reveals about the situation of all creation, how it relates to both Israel and the Gentiles, and what its implications are for life in faith. The New Testament Library series offers authoritative commentary on every book and major aspect of the New Testament, providing fresh translations based on the best available ancient manuscripts, critical portrayals of the historical world in which the books were created, careful attention to their literary design, and a theologically perceptive exposition of the biblical text. The contributors are scholars of international standing. The editorial board consists of C. Clifton Black, Princeton Theological Seminary; John T. Carroll, Union Presbyterian Seminary; and Susan E. Hylen, Candler School of Theology, Emory University.

There are many devotional materials available but most follow a theme or topic applying a Scripture passage to a life situation. I have developed a devotion that starts with the text of Romans and applies principles and insights from the text to life situations. This daily devotion will guide you through the Book of Romans, verse by verse, building understanding and making challenging applications; while at the same time enhancing the memory to be able to recall Scripture due to intentional repetition. The intention of this devotional is that it be used with your Bible as a thought provoking device that stirs your curiosity and drives you to dig deeper to find answers to the perplexing questions that come to mind. I believe that this devotion will benefit everybody whether new to the Lord Jesus Christ or not.

In What Respect Are Jews Better Than Gentiles? (Romans 3:1-31) 4. The Righteousness of Man Is Nothing to Be Proud of (Romans 4:1-25) 5. Together with God (Romans 5:1-21) 6. We Can No Longer Continue in Sin (Romans 6:1-23) 7. The Law That Has Dominion over Man (Romans 7:1-25) 8. People to Whom There Is No Condemnation (Romans 8:1-39) 9. Where Does the Apostle Paul’s Anguish Come from? (Romans 9:1-33) The righteousness of God is transparent. God`s righteousness cannot be substituted by anything. That is because His righteousness is different from the righteousness of man. We need to know what God`s righteousness is, and we need to believe in it. God`s righteousness is fundamentally different from human righteousness. The righteousness of mankind is like a filthy rag, but the righteousness of God is like a brilliant pearl shining forever. God`s righteousness is the Truth that is absolutely needed by every sinner, transcending all ages. Our faith in the righteousness of God must be one that can be verified in the Word of Truth. Do you believe in the righteousness of God that is absolutely indispensable in these end times when the Lord`s return is imminent? Do you want to believe in the perfect righteousness of God within the Word of Truth and meet the Lord? Have you ever met God`s righteousness? You need to realize that God`s righteousness is found in Jesus who worked in the gospel of the water and the Spirit. You must meet Jesus, who has become God`s perfect righteousness, and you must believe in Him. The New Life Mission https://www.bjnewlife.org
