I climbed every tree with a bird nest. I watched the mother and father bird bring food to the baby birds who were holding their mouths wide open waiting for a juicy worm to be dropped in their mouth. At one time, I took a baby squirrel from its nest before its eyes were open and raised it with a doll bottle. Another time I took a baby crow from the nest and raised it. I had lots of pets, but the one pet I wanted, a raccoon, I did not have. I now have a mother raccoon who dens in a tree in my backyard and raises a family of baby raccoons every year. God promised to provide all my needs (Philippians 4:19). I did not need a raccoon, but God knew I wanted one, so he supplied what I wanted because he loves me.
