Book excerpt: As the world races toward the Great Tribulation, immorality among the world's leaders, increased lawlessness, natural disasters, and anarchy many voices have flooded the blogosphere, YouTube and the social networks to interpret the times. Rev. Blair has risen above the unholy chorus to write a series of timeless articles from a biblical perspective to help Christians stand firm in their faith. This collection of short articles taken from his two popular websites give practical application, prophetic insight, and a clear voice to those in power. As prophet, social activist, and pastor, Daniel Blair writes each article with compassion and uncompromising biblical truth to prod every Christian to pick up the banner of truth and walk in holiness before the Lord. Use as a daily devotional or as a timeless resource during the coming distress. In this volume I have selected articles for the Christian Activists in his or her fight against corrupt politics, social injustice, and moral decline. I strongly believe that Christians should be both salt and light in a very dark and depraved world; therefore, it is essential to hold those in leadership accountable. Moreover, it is our Christian duty to be the constant voice for social justice, morality, and freedom to proclaim the gospel message in every corner of society.

Book excerpt: Revised 2016 Edition: Despite the sensational nature of its subject, Lost in Translation: Rediscovering the Hebrew Roots of our Faith is written in simple, clear, rational language that relies 100 percent on the Bible as the ultimate authority. The book's authors clear away centuries of confusion surrounding subjects that are seldom addressed in modern sermons and Bible studies. Using the ancient Hebrew language and culture, the authors clarify many of the Bible's so-called "mysteries" and help the reader rediscover many of the foundational truths that have been "lost in translation." Topics include: - Who is the Bride of Messiah? - Is there a difference between covenant and testament? - Israel: Who are they really? - What is the difference between devils, demons, and nephilim? Join us on an exciting adventure to rediscover the treasures still buried within the pages of The Book that reveal the pathway to the heart of God. "A must-read for the church! Providing foundational insights which lead to a greater understanding of God's master plan, this book will open your eyes to scriptural distortions due to the centuries of Greek influence on the church." - Corey Berti, Senior Pastor, Silver Valley Worship Center, ID "I've been a believer for 12 years, and I've read numerous scriptures that didn't make sense. The authors do a tremendous job of explaining the importance of understanding our Hebrew roots which provide context and clarity to the overall theme of God's message. It's like watching TV in black and white and then suddenly seeing it in color. The truth hasn't changed, but it's meaning becomes more vivid." - Jason Carr

This book was released on 2016-03-02 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sky is falling! No, Chicken Little isn't back in vogue. But the end times are upon us. Has your attention been drawn to such themes as Armageddon, the Apocalypse, antichrist, the Rapture, and other such events? TV and movies are including them in ever-increasing measure. The same thing happened at the time of Jesus' birth circa 7 B.C. When the time draws near for Biblical prophecies to be fulfilled, God gets folks interested in them. What does that tell us about today? The "Heavenly Citizens" series serves as a tool to help the Christian understand not only what the Bible teaches us, but also how to study the Bible. Explaining what the Bible teaches is like giving someone a fish to eat. Teaching him how to study the Bible is like teaching someone how to fish so he can feed himself. Both approaches are essential to developing spiritual maturity. "Revelation" is the eleventh volume in the "Heavenly Citizens" series. The Apostle John was exiled by the Roman emperor to the island of Patmos, in the Aegean Sea off modern Turkey. In the solitude he had there, he was visited by Messiah Jesus. The Lord gave him a vision of Himself glorified, a vision even more glorious than what John witnessed on the Mount of Transfiguration. Jesus followed that with a portrayal of the entire Church Age, and then gave a vivid account of the end times. It is customary for folks today to flock to end-times stories. We are fascinated by what we don't know, and we want to get the latest scoop on the unknown, so that we can be one up on everyone else. But that is not the purpose for which God reveals the future to us, as we can ascertain by a quick reading of Deuteronomy 29:29. In keeping with God's purpose, we spend our time in studying "Revelation" by limiting the guess work, which serves only to tickle our fancy, and in its place substitute a practical application of the text to our lives for today. Why did Messiah Jesus reveal these events to the Apostle John? What are we to learn from this revelation, that will help us to live each day like God calls us to live? Yes, this revelation is long and full of exciting details, so we wouldn't dream of leaving any of that out. Truth be told, we spend considerable time on each and every verse in the "Book of Revelation." But if we leave it at that, then we have failed God and ourselves. Messiah Jesus didn't die so that we can be smart and intellectual! He died so that we might have new life, His life in us. That is our guiding principle in studying the "Book of Revelation," viz., how to make better disciples for our Lord. The approach for "Revelation," and for every volume in the "Heavenly Citizens" series, is to teach the student the meaning of Scripture. We also teach him or her how to study the Bible on his/her own. We do this in two ways: we provide a few rules by which to govern our Bible study, and we demonstrate by example how to study the Bible. Experience is an outstanding teacher. In our books we practice the rules for Bible study. By walking through the Bible with us, the reader experiences firsthand what our method of study is like. We believe the student will come out of our studies with both an understanding of the Bible and the ability to truthfully understand the Bible on his/her own. The path lies before you. Walk through the gate and join the journey with us! And may the blessings of the Lord Jesus Christ be yours in abundance.

Is there any hope for peace in our time? Dr. David Jeremiah's dramatic narrative on the Book of Revelation answers these and many more challenging questions, by unraveling the imagery and explaining the significance of the events described in the last book of the Bible. Within its pages are the hope and encouragement we need to lift us from the gloom of present events to the promise of a brilliant future.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Revelation is a work of profound theology. But its literary form makes it impenetrable to many modern readers and open to all kinds of misinterpretations. Richard Bauckham explains how the book's imagery conveyed meaning in its original context and how the book's theology is inseparable from its literary structure and composition. Revelation is seen to offer not an esoteric and encoded forecast of historical events but rather a theocentric vision of the coming of God's universal kingdom, contextualised in the late first-century world dominated by Roman power and ideology. It calls on Christians to confront the political idolatries of the time and to participate in God's purpose of gathering all the nations into his kingdom. Once Revelation is properly grounded in its original context it is seen to transcend that context and speak to the contemporary church. This study concludes by highlighting Revelation's continuing relevance for today.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Revelation's traditional understanding teaches that chapters 1, 2, and 3 apply to us, the church, the Body of Christ. And everything from chapter 4 thru 22 is yet future. But are the seven letters in chapters two and three relevant to the Body of Christ or future churches, assemblies, of Jews in the 7-year Tribulation? Remember, the apostle John is an apostle to the circumcision, Israel, not the Body of Christ as clearly stated in Galatians 2:9.John's apostleship to Israel is problematic for some Christians as your pastors and teachers have told you that the New Testament is for us, the church. But, is that mere church tradition? Do New Testament scriptures support that assumption? Since Peter, James, and John were apostles to Israel, the circumcision, John would be writing to those whom his apostleship dictated, Israel, the Jews. The gospel of John, 1st, 2nd, 3rd John, and Revelation were written to Israel. However, we should not ignore these books as they contain a great deal of valuable information about God's plan for the ages and Jesus' ministry. But we do not derive church doctrine from the writings of John. Our doctrine rests in the hands of Paul. In this writing, we will discover the correct intended audience for the book of Revelation.

Book excerpt: Each Christmas, adults and children alike delight at the story of the kings from the East who followed the star to Bethlehem to offer gifts to the newborn Christ. While this familiar tale is recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, another little-known version later emerged that claimed to be the eyewitness account of the wise men. This ancient manuscript has lain hidden for centuries in the vaults of the Vatican Library, but through the determined persistence of a young scholar, Brent Landau, this astonishing discovery has been translated into English for the very first time as the Revelation of the Magi. Everything we know about the wise men is based on only a few verses from the Bible. With the Revelation of the Magi, we can now read the story from the Magi's perspective. Readers will learn of the Magi's prophecies of God's incarnation from the beginning of time, their startling visitation in the form of a star, the teachings they receive from the baby Jesus, and the wise men's joyous return to their homeland to spread the good news. This ancient version of the Christmas story is guaranteed to astonish and delight. It will also raise larger questions of the significance and meaning of Christ's birth, and the mission to spread the good news to every corner of the globe. All the drama and intrigue of the brief description of Jesus's birth in the Bible is filled out in greater, more colorful detail, offering for the first time the complete story of these beloved characters.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CHAPTER 4 OF THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRISTThis second great vision of the Lamb in the Throne continued on through chapter 16 of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. This volume will go through chapter 6. This great vision of the Slain Lamb in the Throne is what we imagine when we think of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. John entered the Second Great Vision. He again went into the Spirit. The Lord Jesus, the Son of man, opened the door to heaven and told John to come up. John first saw the indescribable throne room and He who sat on the throne. John saw the four beast creature cherubim and the twenty-four elders. John saw heavenly praise. CHAPTER 5 OF THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRISTAgain we note in this chapter how when studying Scripture and a chapter's or verse's number change it does not mean the context changed. John remained in the same context. John was in throne room within the glory cloud of God exactly where Moses stood when Moses saw the heavenly tabernacle and received his revelation and instructions to construct one on earth. Within the same cloud, the Lamb Slain was revealed to John. John saw the scroll no man could open and wept. John saw the slain Lamb who only was worthy to open the seven-sealed scroll taking it from the one who sat on the throne. From the throne, the Lamb opened the seals. We investigate the scroll written within and on the backside; the seven seals; why only the Lion Lamb was worthy to open the seals; and worship around the throne.CHAPTER 6 OF THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRISTWe study the opening of the first seal; the white horse and horseman; the opening of the second seal; the red horse and horseman; the opening of the third seal; the black horse and horseman; the opening of the fourth seal; the pale horse and horseman; the opening of the fifth seal; the souls under the altar whose blood cried out for vengeance; the opening of the sixth seal; de-creation and collapsing universe theology. We leave this volume awaiting to study the opening of the seventh seal.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The end of the world is coming. From roadside signs to science fiction films, this slogan underscores our society’s nervous fascination with the future. Whether it’s a giant asteroid, a worldwide plague, or some other global catastrophe, the end of the world is a terrifying prospect—at least for those who have no idea what it will be like. For Christians, however, the end of the world should be anything but dreadful. In fact, it should be something we actually look forward to. Why? Because God has told us how the world will end. And He has assured us that the end of this age will mark the beginning of a new, glorious one in which we will serve and worship Him in sinless perfection. Our eternal hope, as believers, is intimately tied to the end of this world. All of this is laid out in the book of Revelation. Not only is Revelation the inspired Word of God, it is also the only New Testament book that includes a promised spiritual blessing for those who study and apply its message. As such, it is an essential part of every Christian’s devotional life. Those who ignore Revelation deprive themselves of a rich treasure of divine truth, and the promised blessings that come from understanding that truth. Join John MacArthur as he explains the book of Revelation in a way that is both doctrinally precise and intensely practical.
