Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book attempts to look at future of technology and need of HR to reorient its philosophy and practices required to build a greater and a better tomorrow, through the views and experiences of a large number of technocrats and leaders, HR practitioners, academicians, business experts, bureaucrats and trade unionists. We have always been overwhelmed by the grandeur of the Sun. The all-powerful, merciful, the creator of our solar system and all lives on our planet. The Surya is the soul of all creations. He is always there with us, around us and is so merciful! We take Him for granted and remain generally unmindful of Him. The world however, has been mostly depending for its increasing needs of energy on fossil fuel, realising now thankfully that this is becoming a major threat to environment and all lives. This realisation has been now driving the globe to be putting greater reliance on renewable sources of energy including the wind, hydro and primarily the Sun. The entire energy value chain is likely to see significant disruption in the coming years and decades. India, which is at an evolving stage in its growth story, promises many opportunities for energy players. The ambitious megaprojects, launched by the Country are likely to drive higher energy consumption. The new thrust on nonconventional and renewable sources of energy has been radically altering the dynamics of the power sector. HR will therefore, have a very important role in understanding energy solutions for the future and it will have to reinvent itself continually to meet the challenges of a technology-driven future, while ensuring not to lose sight of the 'human' aspect of organisation and culture. HR also has to be harnessing its natural capability to be future ready. While technologists and scientists from all over the world are looking for the most green and renewable sources of energy, solar may well emerge as the best substitute for fossil fuels over short time. It could probably allow humans to happily coexist with the flora and fauna, while making the most efficient use of technology. Let us value and celebrate the return of the Surya to make a better world!

Book excerpt: ‘He did not stop to observe his kills, nor to wipe blood off his face. I am a King, he reminded himself. I must be the best among my men, the most fearsome warrior that Solar blood can produce.’ More than a thousand years before Rama, civilization lay fragmented by wars between Aryas and their enemies. From a tribe at the frontlines of this battle, rose the boy king Ikshvaku, the first Manava, founder of the first kingdom in the Indian subcontinent. This is a story of the first King of our lands – the founder of Suryavansha – of betrayal and loyalty, of dynasties and destruction. A perfect beginning to The Scrolls of Aryavarta. Who founded the ancient cities such as Prayaga and Kashi? Who established Ayodhya, and when? What were the various Arya tribes that populated ancient India? The Scrolls of Aryavarta seeks to answer these and many other questions, and The Seal of Surya is one story in this universe. ‘A rocking read. True blast from the ancient past.’- Krishna Udayasankar

His transgender avatar provided temporary relief, and she eventually found love and control of her destiny. As she tried to overcome the demons of her past, she was diagnosed with HIV. Book excerpt: Starting days back to pre-independence and covering a millennia, in one side Collage portrays those unfortunate and truly evil societal barriers as well as the determined, enlightened and young generation of breakers of those barriers. It narrates the war ground called Society where the knowledge and morality confronts prejudices and burden of viciousness. It depicts those agonies and sacrifices the young generation has to bear when it thrusts to break through the mighty and apparently invincible chains of centuries old chauvinisms. In the other side, Collage is all about those treasured episodes that depicts how a child born in a lavish family becomes almost an orphan. How humiliations from those relations he believed interminable turns him taller, stronger and determined to overcome all odds. How life teaches him to feel the anguishes of the underprivileged and encourage a feeble boy to become a sturdy man who dares to stand and face the mighty and egotistical lot in the society. It narrates how dignity, determination and sense of duty makes a man complete. But the question remains. Does that end there?
