This book includes two chapters: chapter one: discovery of general ship's characteristics of 84 LNG Tanker-Veterans and shows of some containment systems; chapter two: statistical analysis of some ship's characteristics using multiple regression analysis. About the Author Russian-born Anatoly Rozenblat worked as a seaman, an operational ship's mechanic, a scientist, and a marine engineer. Rozenblat holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Odessa Institute of Maritime Transport Engineering and bachelor of science degree in computer and information systems from Chicago East-West University. Rozenblat came to the United States in 1990 with status of refugee. As a creative personality, inventor and scientist, he received a fundamental technical and arts education in Marine and Manufacturing Engineering. He also participated in the US SBA Program (NASA, Energy, etc.) and was also invited on 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th Israel Conferences on Mechanical Engineering. Rozenblat's biography has been published in IBC (England) in 24 Ed. 1996; International Who's Who Intellectuals, 12 Ed, 1997; Outstanding Scientists of the 20th Century, 1999; and also in ABC (USA); Marquis Who's Who in America, 54th Ed, 2000. Rozenblat possesses 25 published books and 30 innovations. He lives in Chicago with his wife. Rozenblat lives in Chicago and is the father of two adult children, Moshe and Inna.

Walker, 1890; reprinted in Noether, 1989] It has been more than a century since Walker stated his wish, but progress has been slow, just as advancement in the establishment of statistical principles and methodology has been laborious and difficult over the centuries. We have tried to describe the milestones in this development and how each generation of scientists built on the heritage and foundations laid by their predecessors. Many historians dismiss the "great man theory," which alleges that giant "leaps of human knowledge are made by great thinkers who transcend the boundaries of their times; great scientists don't leap outside their time, but somewhere else in their own time" (Hevly, 1990). We found this to be the case in the history of statistics. Even the innovative writings of Karl Pearson and Sir Ronald Fisher that became the foundation of modern mathematical statistics were the outcome of two centuries of antecedent ideas and information.

It also complements well-known textbooks of Box, Hunter and Hunter (No.121), Dixon and Massey (No.286), Snedecor and Cochran (No. 1238), and many recent competitors. Since the methodology of statistics is expanding rapidly, many methods are not considered at all or only introduced in the basic textbooks of statistics. There is a need for intermediate statistical methods concerned with increasingly complicated ap plications of statistics to actual research situations. Here the specification of terms helps to find some sources. Since the ref erences vary considerably in length and content, the number of culled or extracted terms per referenced page varies even more, as does also their degree of specialization; however in most cases an intermediate statistical level is maintained.
