Book excerpt: "Come to Me" -- Matt 11:28 Jesus told us, "Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." His promise of rest begins with a gentle request - to come to Him. But where do we find him? How do we draw closer to Jesus? What does it mean for our lives? And what do we really find when we go to Him? Susan Conroy, author and well-known host of the popular EWTN television series Coming to Christ - the inspiration for this book -- will show how you can find Jesus in your life every day. Coming to Christ is a lot like sitting down with a good friend who, in words and pictures, shares her practical, uncomplicated examples of ways we can turn and return to God. Through personal stories, writings of the saints, and sacred scripture, Susan shows each of us not only why, but HOW, step by step, to come to Christ. Let us each take to heart Christ's invitation to "come to Me" and experience the rest we so desire.

Book excerpt: The Scriptures teach clearly that God desires to live in intimate fellowship and communion with mankind. He wants us to enjoy His love, peace, joy, and companionship and to rest in His redemption, experiencing the perfect harmony and contentment and fulfillment of purpose for which He created us. God's original purpose for creating mankind was simply for us to enjoy relationship with Him, the kind of fellowship that the first couple, Adam and Eve, enjoyed in the Garden of Eden, when God walked with them in the cool of the evening (Gen. 3:8). Then, sin entered the human experience and separated all mankind from that divine fellowship. But when we place our faith in Christ's sacrifice for our sin, we are redeemed by the blood of Christ and justified in the sight of God. But that is not the end of the matter; it is only the beginning. God's intention is that we be completely restored--spirit, soul, and body--to the divine rest found in His redemption, He wants us to experience that mystery of intimate communion with our Creator/Redeemer. In this book we will discuss four important aspects of fulfilling the deepest desire of the human heart--to know God personally and intimately in the way God's great, loving heart intended. To know the love of God that brings true heart contentment, we need to walk in the understanding of these divine principles: The biblical basis for all prayer is resting in His redemption. The biblical basis for all Christian living is resting in His redemption. The biblical basis for total forgiveness is resting in His redemption. The biblical basis for divine contentment is resting in His redemption. Your life can be transformed when you allow Him to make them a reality to your heart. The love of God can fill your heart and make you a victorious lover of the Christ. You will be ruined for any lesser, temporal pleasure or love once you taste more deeply the wonders of resting in His redemption.

When God allowed my sorrow and pain to bring me to the cross, I quietly knelt in His presence. I could not ask for the reason of my sorrow and suffering. There were no words before Him. I met a God who said that He loves me even to the death. Heaven is closer to me now than ever before. My son's death connected me with the reality of sin and death, and led me closer to my only hope, Jesus Christ. Now, I am forgiven and have hope that will see Jesus and my son some day at a beautiful place where there is no more pain, no more tears and no more fear. Nothing can separate us from the Love of Christ. Inseong was born and raised in the beautiful suburbs of Seoul, South Korea. She now lives in Phoenix Arizona with her wonderful husband Steven and her three children. She is a writer and an artist. Through her tragic experience, Inseong experienced the deep grace of God and the values of her life as a wife and a mother. "My understanding of 'Hope' is not a wish, but a reality of the future, for which I am waiting with full anticipation. I will live with Jesus forever and ever."

Book excerpt: CHAPTER SEVEN THE SPIRIT OF LOVE Romans 5:5b 5...because THE LOVE OF GOD IS SHED ABROAD IN OUR HEARTS(SPIRITS) BY THE HOLY GHOST which is given unto us. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us THE SPIRIT of fear; but of power, and OF LOVE, and of a sound mind. One of the reasons love is rarely practiced as it should be is the lack of understanding. The believer needs to understand and be equipped to walk in love. Love is the spirit of victory and triumph. THE LOVE OF GOD IS SHED ABROAD IN OUR HEARTS (SPIRITS) BY THE HOLY GHOST. Love is a spirit. And we are already furnished with the spirit of love. We also know this from 2 Timothy 1:7. Believers have the love nature directly from God by the Holy Ghost. No effort is needed to have love. We do not grow in love, but we grow in our love walk. Love is a nature that we mature in. Love brings spiritual results, which we call rest in this book. Selfish love brings physical results. Spiritual results override physical results and never fail. 1 Corinthians 13 teaches us more about the divine kind of love. Love is a force that overcomes emotional and physical pressures from the flesh. Sometimes, the sight of challenges looks so scary and frightening from the viewpoint of the flesh. Selfish love is never an option in such cases. This is the challenge faced with symptoms of sickness and forces of darkness around us, yet we believe God by His word. How can we put on a look of love when challenges show up? Well, most people will be so upset when we say lack of love is the cause of their challenges. Walking in love is the answer, too. The spirit of love is an enablement to our weak flesh. It is a spirit that refuses to be mad at everyone because you are sick. Love is a spirit that prepares you for miracles and wonders. Love without patience is the same as love in the world. This patience means acting in faith, that what you desire, you shall touch, because you walk in divine love. We can initiate love consciously sometimes, to overcome the desire of the flesh. LOVE IS A TRANSMITTER OF SPIRITUAL THINGS Love is our transmitter to Heavenly realms, and a receiver on Earth. With our spirit, the future is known. This knowledge prepares us in advance to love. Notice in John 16:13 that it is our privilege to know things in advance. John 14:26 tell us that we can also know the past. Now, if you have this ability, you can ascend physical things from its source – the spiritual realm. Everything physical has a spiritual source. You need love to ascend Heavenly realities; love is our transmitter between Heaven and Earth. You see, in trials on Earth, God's love is shed abroad in our hearts. Love unlocks the mysteries of life and provides answers to both spiritual and human questions. Love was a spiritual reality to Christ on Earth. We can now justify that by love, Jesus' forgiveness to others was normal, though abnormal to the world. He knew the end even before it came. During Jesus' trial and crucifixion, love had come to rest in His heart, more than any time on Earth. Love was there to overcome enmity, pains, betrayal and denial. When challenges become daunting, the amount of love in our hearts becomes greater. Love is internally regulated and responsive to our needs. Being led by the spirit is to be led by love. Since God is love, we are one with Him through love. Love has a magnetic force that pulls everyone around Him. That power echoes in John 12:32 when Jesus said: John 12:32 "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me." the spirit of love in a man is a magnet. Christ's resurrection saw the climax of love's power on Earth. It was love behind that great force of ascension that joined Christ in body, soul and spirit with the Father. Our love is the only reason why men and women shall come to our rising. It is the magnet of all other forces in the world. Love plays host to faith, power, joy, rest and wisdom. When love endures, it always comes to pass. Love is patient and never fails. Love is the window of the recreated spirit of God's man. Christ-like love will guide you to THE REALM OF REST. Don't stop loving. Don't be discouraged, you will get there if you remain patient. With love, we know that Heaven is certain, though we walk on Earth. Such a spiritual concept has been given very little spiritual revelation. In some cases, I have been asked why people who love always get stabbed in return. Then you did not love; you may have been stabbed because you were selfish and hoped for a certain reward. That is not love. Get your love walk straight. Love sits on the throne that judges the world. He sits on the throne of possibility. He is the miraculous. Love does not value bread as much as it values feeding the hungry. It does not expect man to reward him; it expects God to. Love does not reciprocate between the same people. Love is love. Love is all sufficient and always satisfied. John 13:34-35 34A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35BY THIS SHALL ALL MEN KNOW THAT YOU ARE MY DISCIPLES, if you have love one to another. By love, all men shall know that you are Christ's disciples. Love graduates to greater revelation and truth from God. Divine love is God's light in the world. The spirit of wisdom comes from love. At the same time, it is what makes a man prosperous. Love is the fountain of spiritual gifts. Wisdom and revelation come from love. That is reflected in Paul's prayers to the saints below. Ephesians 1:15-17 15Wherefore I also, after I heard of your FAITH in the Lord Jesus, and LOVE unto all the saints, 16Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the SPIRIT OF WISDOM and REVELATION in the knowledge of him. Love walk suffers when we don't know why we love. Even when we get to know, we must grow in the knowledge of it. What can make us love as Christ is, growing in the knowledge of God's love nature. We must know that love is our nature from God and its reward is also from God, not man. When I encounter challenging personalities, so I do not journey out of love, I always imagine myself in the spiritual realm, reigning with love. I can easily tolerate and be patient over anything, because in the spiritual realm, I know the outcome. You are always right when you are in love. Love is equal to nothing on Earth – love is God. Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Romans 12:9 Let your love be perfectly sincere. Regard with horror what is evil; cling to what is right. Perfect love casts our fear. It is the source of pleasure and joy. Love is above all things. 1 John 4:18 THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. At rest, love is the king. When love becomes mature, we walk the supernatural. The Holy Spirit and your spirit unite in love. Love is the image and likeness of God in His man. What makes us supermen and women on Earth is love – when love comes in, we are complete. Divine love brings God's effect in man. 1 John 4:12 12 No one has ever seen God; but if you love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. One would be surprised if God was not love, or if He was love and our love was tested by loving Him alone. When we love as God would, we know God. Notice that every man has the nature of God. However, this nature is locked in some and needs to be set free. Knowing the truth will make them free. Love is the way, the truth and the light. When we share the knowledge of God with others, we share the spirit of love. To know that you rest, you must walk in love. Our love is needed to unlock love in others. No doubt, love has been the most influential fact

As an idealistic young volunteer, author Susan Conroy spent a summer serving in one of Mother Teresa's orphanages and in the Home for the Dying. "In a city where I found hell on earth," she says, "I also found each day a deep sense of peace and incredible happiness." It was an experience that changed her life forever. She learned why Mother Teresa had found real joy in working with the poorest of the poor. Along the way, she took striking photographs that have never been seen before now - photographs that show Mother Teresa at her everyday best. This is an account you won't soon forget, told with simple and loving directness by an eyewitness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our culture is self-obsessed – in our schedules, relationships, and especially online. (Can you say selfie?) But in this near-narcissism, people are less content than in decades past. Why? Because we forgot the joy that comes from putting others first. Doing so requires us to live alert, listening for “heart drops,” hints from those in our lives who need a helping hand or a generous dose of encouragement. Living alert lifts our own spirits, showing us that blessing others blesses us even more. Listen, Love, Repeat offers biblical teaching and suggests doable actions that are simple, heart-tugging, sentimental, even sneaky and hilarious. This message: • Presents scriptural examples of those who lived alert, including Jesus, who noticed those who least expected to be seen. • Explains the role of good works for followers of Christ. They aren’t our ticket to heaven but they are our marching orders on earth. • Gives creative ideas for showing love to friends and family, and suggests practical ways to reach out to the lonely, the marginalized, the outcast, and the odd duck. Additionally, it helps you comfort the grieving, showing what you can do when you don’t know what to say. • Provides inspiration for blessing the “necessary people” in your life, those often-overlooked souls who help you get life done every day, and teaches you how to hug a porcupine by genuinely loving the hard-to-love. As we scatter love, we create a safe space where we can openly share the gospel. We get to see lives changed right before our eyes. Most importantly, Listen, Love, Repeat will enable you to live a life that is full of kind deeds, not to selfishly shout, “Hey! Look at me!” but to humbly implore, “Will you look at Him?”
