Book Synopsis The Maleness of Jesus by : Neil H. Williams
Download or read book The Maleness of Jesus written by Neil H. Williams and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the center of Christianity is Jesus of Nazareth--whose maleness is used by many to justify the subordination of women and to emphasize that men, rather than women, better represent Jesus. This raises a number of questions that are the subject of this book. What is the significance of Jesus' maleness? Does it reveal the character of God? Is it foundational for the gospel? Is Jesus' maleness associated with an ongoing created order of male priority? Our answers will affect Christianity's task of love, justice, and reconciliation in a world that is characterized by the global marginalization, oppression, and abuse of women.

Download or read book Jesus & Justice written by Al Houghton and published by . This book was released on 2009-10 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus commissioned every believer to be an Agent of Justice with access to a heavenly court for the purpose of extending His Kingdom. Men like Mordecai Hamm, who won Billy Graham to Christ, understood this and confronted the evil of their generation with signs and wonders of God's justice in manifestation. This teaching restores the boldness of the early church by once again possessing the foundation stones comprising the Doctrine of Christ in Acts 13 that blinded a false prophet and opened a region to the gospel. This book empowers the church to represent Jesus as King in a hostile culture!
Book Synopsis The Epistle of Jesus to the Church by : James D. Quiggle
Download or read book The Epistle of Jesus to the Church written by James D. Quiggle and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-01-01 with total page 488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Epistle of Jesus to the Church is a commentary on the book of Revelation that assumes Jesus was the author and John the reporter of the words and events described. Here one will not find an explanation of an anti-Roman message written by John in hidden codes and apocalyptic motifs to fool Roman authorities. John the apostle and prophet was the faithful scribe, who did not create the message but faithfully and accurately described all that he saw and heard. This commentary follows the principle that the Scriptures explain themselves, because the Revelation is a word from Jesus to his church--a word that is grounded in the Scriptures. The Epistle of Jesus to the Church has been written with teachers, students, and pastors in mind. The interpretation of the book of Revelation is thorough; difficult passages are addressed, and plausible answers are provided to the questions posed by in-depth study of the biblical book. This is a commentary for personal study or classroom instruction, one that may be confidently used to preach and teach the Revelation of Jesus to the church.
Book Synopsis Jesus the Winemaker: Satan's Most Effective Lie by : Al Lunden
Download or read book Jesus the Winemaker: Satan's Most Effective Lie written by Al Lunden and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-11-04 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Satans most effective lie? What conceivable falsehood would be more devastating to Christianity than the false inference that Jesus was and is a maker and user of wine or of any other mind-altering drug? Jesus was a man of perfection and without sin! Is drug use not a sin? This book provides a solid and perhaps somewhat revolutionary biblical hypothesis to firmly prove that Moses did not use wine and that Jesus did not make or use any wine. This hypothesis is based entirely on the original Hebrew and Greek Scriptures, because the Hebrew word yayin and the Greek word oinos were falsely or inadequately translated into Latin and into other European languages at some time after the hostile takeover of the New Testament Church in Rome by Constantine the Great. This conclusion is supported by Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible and by his Hebrew and Greek dictionaries, by the books of Dr. Robert P. Teachout and Dr. Samuel Bacchiocchi, by the Full Life Study Bible edited by Donald C. Stamps, and by the Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible and Lexicons of Spiros Zodhiates. Satan is to blame for this false translation, as he is, as Hal Lindsey once said, Alive and well on planet Earthand has overwhelming power when we allow him dominion. Those ancient words for wine and grape juice were all generic or interchangeable in literature, even until the King James Version of the Bible was printed. The original KJV is actually acceptable, but the absolute inerrancy and infallibility of Scripture have been faulted by the false translation of wine in modern Bibles since that time. Another proposed biblical hypothesis states that Satan inspired the equivalent of a hostile corporate takeover of the New Testament Church in Rome. This was done through Emperor Constantines agreement to cease the persecution and genocide of Christianity if he and his army were given key positions of respect or authority in the church. This resulted in the world's most powerful union of church and state, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, which has now existed for many centuries.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The problem of the historical Jesus remains one of the most important themes in New Testament scholarship. Closely related to this problem is the question, How far can the impact made by the earthly Jesus and his own self-understanding sustain the weight of the Christological construction put upon them by the early church? In the past two decades some scholars have taken an increasingly gloomy attitude toward the possibility of knowing anything of substance about Jesus from the Gospels or, at the opposite extreme, have sometimes made outlandish claims about him. Others, like the contributors to this volume, have begun moving the discussion into fresh areas of creative, responsible inquiry.
