Book Synopsis Get Your Spiritual Life! by : Emma Risper
Download or read book Get Your Spiritual Life! written by Emma Risper and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-12-12 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grace and Peace Congratulations on your first step to developing a personal relationship with God.. Welcome to the Family of God. You have a new address now, it is: The Kingdom of God. The class was developed to aide you in your Christian walk. The class will further develop your personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST. The purpose of this manual is to give you a concrete purpose of God’s word, basic information. This is a crawl before you walk guide. This guide's design is to nurture the born-again Christians in spiritual growth. You get instruction (teaching) not to store, but to use. Spiritual growth means spiritual maturity. When a person is born again, there is a parallel to a newborn baby. The child will only grow physically and mentally if they have proper nourishment or instruction. If they are not given proper nourishment or instruction, they may grow physically, but they will never be all that they can be. The same is true of the born-again Christian. When we are saved--we are delivered from hell. If you get proper nourishment or instructions, you will be delivered from hell on earth. We have a process to go through. Some people never change, we have to change, (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you are born again, God lives inside of you, not part of God, but all of God—just like a baby born with all of its parts. Our thinking does not comprehend all that we have, that is why we have to go through stages. So sit back, read. Learn and enjoy. Then apply!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subject of RENEW YOUR MIND, childhood abuse and trauma, was exceedingly difficult for me to talk about for decades and is still a struggle today. Even today, I feel a bit embarrassed to talk about the things that I survived. But it needs to be done for the sake of helping others to survive and overcome childhood abuse and trauma. The scope of RENEW YOUR MIND will go into many of the traumatic events but will not go into details because that is not necessary. The reader does need to appreciate the level of suffering so they to can appreciate how much the human can survive. The aim of RENEW YOUR MIND is to help the reader to experience the depths of my pain that will make you cringe one moment and then cry the next. Book Synopsis You Can't Put God in a Box by : Kelly Besecke
Download or read book You Can't Put God in a Box written by Kelly Besecke and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2014 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kelly Besecke offers an examination of reflexive spirituality, a spirituality that draws equally on religions traditions and traditions of reason in the pursuit of transcendent meaning. People who practice reflexive spirituality prefer metaphor to literalism, spiritual experience to doctrinal belief, religious pluralism to religious exclusivism or inclusivism, and ongoing inquiry to ''final answers.'' Reflexive spirituality is aligned with liberal theologies in a variety of religious traditions and among the spiritual-but-not-religious. You Can't Put God in a Box draws on original qualitative data to describe how people practiced reflexive spirituality in an urban United Methodist church, an interfaith adult education center, and a variety of secular settings. The theoretical argument focuses on two kinds of rationality that are both part of the Enlightenment legacy. Technological rationality focuses our attention on finding the most efficient means to a particular end. Reflexive spiritualists reject forms of religiosity and secularity that rely on the biases of technological rationality—they see these as just so many versions of ''fundamentalism'' that are standing in the way of compelling spiritual meaning. Intellectual rationality, on the other hand, offers tools for analysis, interpretation, and synthesis of religious ideas. Reflexive spiritualists embrace intellectual rationality as a way of making religious traditions more meaningful for modern ears. Besecke provides a window into the progressive theological thinking of educated spiritual seekers and religious liberals. Grounded in participant observation, her book uses concrete examples of reflexive spirituality in practice to speak to the classical sociological problem of modern meaninglessness.
