This book was released on 1966 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is shown that a positive real immittance function F(s) is of one of eight categories. The category can be recognized by the sign polarities of three test values that are functions of the coefficients of F(s). If F(s) is of a certain category, then 1/F(s) can only be of some other categories. According to the categories of F(s) and 1/F(s) the immittance function can be realized (1) either by an RC or an RL network with positive elements, (2) by an RLC network with exclusively positive elements and an equivalent model circuit, or (3) only by model circuits. A model circuit is an RLC ladder structure with one negative branch element. The RC, RL, RLC, and model circuits have several equivalences.

AiR started his life with Achievement, lived a life of Fulfilment and then evolved to the ultimate peak of Enlightenment. It is not a theory book but a book of practical experiences and spiritual revelations that can inspire and lead a seeker of the truth, of God to that state of Self Realization and God Realization. This book of Enlightenment is more profound than any scripture. It is beyond theology that is advocated in religion. If one is passionate about being liberated from this material world and being united with the Divine, ‘Realizations of a Yogi’ is the answer that will lead to that epiphany.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A pithy guide to the Buddha's instructions to unlock the powerful insights that make us "great"—by wise, warm, and humorous Brother Phap Hai, the most senior Australian Dharma teacher ordained by Thich Nhat Hanh In this essential sutra for sincere practitioners, the Buddha says, "If you would like to be enlightened, take on these eight subjects for meditation and apply their corresponding insights to your daily life." Brother Phap Hai's lively, down-to-earth explanation of spirituality's original self-help manual makes this book a must-read for all seeking inspiration on the path of self-realization and compassion. Beginning with a brief historical overview of the sutra's origins, Brother Phap Hai explores each of the eight realizations and shares a story in each chapter from his own journey to become a monk himself. Ordaining as a Buddhist monk in 1997 while still in his twenties, Brother Phap Hai has been practicing mindfulness on a daily basis for much of his adult life. Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh authorized him to teach in 2003, and since then, he has guided and mentored thousands of students in meditation. Brother Phap Hai calls the Buddha's Discourse on the Eight Realizations of Great Beings his "'Desert Island Sutra' because it distills the essence of the Buddhist path." In his words, it is everything you need in a practical meditation manual, "a very structured exposition of realizing the entirety of the Buddhist path for yourself."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A central area of study in Differential Geometry is the examination of the relationship between the purely algebraic properties of the Riemann curvature tensor and the underlying geometric properties of the manifold. In this book, the findings of numerous investigations in this field of study are reviewed and presented in a clear, coherent form, including the latest developments and proofs. Even though many authors have worked in this area in recent years, many fundamental questions still remain unanswered. Many studies begin by first working purely algebraically and then later progressing onto the geometric setting and it has been found that many questions in differential geometry can be phrased as problems involving the geometric realization of curvature. Curvature decompositions are central to all investigations in this area. The authors present numerous results including the Singer–Thorpe decomposition, the Bokan decomposition, the Nikcevic decomposition, the Tricerri–Vanhecke decomposition, the Gray–Hervella decomposition and the De Smedt decomposition. They then proceed to draw appropriate geometric conclusions from these decompositions. The book organizes, in one coherent volume, the results of research completed by many different investigators over the past 30 years. Complete proofs are given of results that are often only outlined in the original publications. Whereas the original results are usually in the positive definite (Riemannian setting), here the authors extend the results to the pseudo-Riemannian setting and then further, in a complex framework, to para-Hermitian geometry as well. In addition to that, new results are obtained as well, making this an ideal text for anyone wishing to further their knowledge of the science of curvature. Contents:Introduction and Statement of ResultsRepresentation TheoryConnections, Curvature, and Differential GeometryReal Affine GeometryAffine Kähler GeometryRiemannian GeometryComplex Riemannian Geometry Readership: Graduate students, researchers, mathematicians and physicist interested in the study of curvature. Keywords:Affine Geometry;Riemannian Geometry;Pseudo-Riemannian Geometry;Kähler Geometry;Para-Kähler Geometry;Hermitian Geometry;Para-Hermitian Geometry;Hyper-Hermitian Geometry;Curvature Tensor;Weyl Geometry;Curvature Decompositions;Almost Complex GeometryKey Features:There are no competing titlesComplete proofs are given that are often only sketched in other literature. Curvature decompositions are presented in parallel for many different structure groups. Full computations of spaces of quadratic invariants appear - this is central to the subject and missing in previously published literature. New results in the pseudo-Riemannian, pseudo-Hermitian and para-Hermitian contexts are included. Geometric realization results are clearly organized and discussedThe relevant “background material” concerning differential geometry and representation theory is introduced, developed and presented in detail, therefore the book is self-contained

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent discussions of self-realization have devolved into unscientific theories of self-help. However, this vague and often misused concept is connected to many important individual and social problems. As long as its meaning remains unclear, it can be abused for social, political, and commercial malpractices. To combat this issue, this book shares perspectives from scholars of various philosophical traditions. Each chapter takes new steps in asking what the meaning of self-realization is–both in terms of what it means to understand who or what one is, and also in terms of how one can, or should, fulfilll oneself. The conceptual elucidations achieved from both theoretical and practical perspectives allow for a more mature awareness of how to deal with discourses on self-realization and, in any case, can help to demystify the subject.

Book excerpt: This book is devoted to conservative realizations of various classes of Stieltjes, inverse Stieltjes, and general Herglotz-Nevanlinna functions as impedance functions of linear systems. The main feature of the monograph is a new approach to the realization theory profoundly involving developed extension theory in triplets of rigged Hilbert spaces and unbounded operators as state-space operators of linear systems. The connections of the realization theory to systems with accretive, sectorial, and contractive state-space operators as well as to the Phillips-Kato sectorial extension problem, the Krein-von Neumann and Friedrichs extremal extensions are provided. Among other results the book contains applications to the inverse problems for linear systems with non-self-adjoint Schrödinger operators, Jacobi matrices, and to the Nevanlinna-Pick system interpolation.

Microwave and RF filters play an important role in communication systems and, owing to the proliferation of radar, satellite, and mobile wireless systems, there is a need for design methods that can satisfy the ever-increasing demand for accuracy, reliability, and shorter development times. Beginning with a brief review of scattering and chain matrices, filter approximations and synthesis, waveguides and transmission lines, and fundamental electromagnetic equations, the book then covers design techniques for microwave and RF filters operating across a frequency range from 1 GHz to 35 GHz. Each design chapter: Is dedicated to only one filter and is organized by the type of filter response Provides several design examples, including the analysis and modeling of the structures discussed and the methodologies employed Offers practical information on the actual performance of the filters and common difficulties encountered during construction Concludes with the construction technique, pictures of the inside and outside of the filter, and the measured performances Advanced Design Techniques and Realizations of Microwave and RF Filters is an essential resource for wireless and telecommunication engineers, as well as for researchers interested in current microwave and RF filter design practices. It is also appropriate as a supplementary textbook for advanced undergraduate courses in filter design.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Published in 2002, the first edition of Geostatistical Reservoir Modeling brought the practice of petroleum geostatistics into a coherent framework, focusing on tools, techniques, examples, and guidance. It emphasized the interaction between geophysicists, geologists, and engineers, and was received well by professionals, academics, and both graduate and undergraduate students. In this revised second edition, Deutsch collaborates with co-author Michael Pyrcz to provide an expanded (in coverage and format), full color illustrated, more comprehensive treatment of the subject with a full update on the latest tools, methods, practice, and research in the field of petroleum Geostatistics. Key geostatistical concepts such as integration of geologic data and concepts, scale considerations, and uncertainty models receive greater attention, and new comprehensive sections are provided on preliminary geological modeling concepts, data inventory, conceptual model, problem formulation, large scale modeling, multiple point-based simulation and event-based modeling. Geostatistical methods are extensively illustrated through enhanced schematics, work flows and examples with discussion on method capabilities and selection. For example, this expanded second edition includes extensive discussion on the process of moving from an inventory of data and concepts through conceptual model to problem formulation to solve practical reservoir problems. A greater number of examples are included, with a set of practical geostatistical studies developed to illustrate the steps from data analysis and cleaning to post-processing, and ranking. New methods, which have developed in the field since the publication of the first edition, are discussed, such as models for integration of diverse data sources, multiple point-based simulation, event-based simulation, spatial bootstrap and methods to summarize geostatistical realizations.

Book excerpt: This monograph deals with approximation and noise cancellation of dynamical systems which include linear and nonlinear input/output relations. It will be of special interest to researchers, engineers and graduate students who have specialized in ?ltering theory and system theory. From noisy or noiseless data, reductionwillbemade.Anewmethodwhichreducesnoiseormodelsinformation will be proposed. Using this method will allow model description to be treated as noise reduction or model reduction. As proof of the e?cacy, this monograph provides new results and their extensions which can also be applied to nonlinear dynamical systems. To present the e?ectiveness of our method, many actual examples of noise and model information reduction will also be provided. Using the analysis of state space approach, the model reduction problem may have become a major theme of technology after 1966 for emphasizing e?ciency in the ?elds of control, economy, numerical analysis, and others. Noise reduction problems in the analysis of noisy dynamical systems may havebecomeamajorthemeoftechnologyafter1974foremphasizinge?ciencyin control. However, thesubjectsoftheseresearcheshavebeenmainlyconcentrated in linear systems. In common model reduction of linear systems in use today, a singular value decompositionofaHankelmatrixisusedto?ndareducedordermodel. However, the existence of the conditions of the reduced order model are derived without evaluationoftheresultantmodel.Inthecommontypicalnoisereductionoflinear systems in use today, the order and parameters of the systems are determined by minimizing information criterion. Approximate and noisy realization problems for input/output relations can be roughly stated as follows: A. The approximate realization problem. B. The noisy realization problem.
