Renard, ( a pseudonym) a native New Yorker, Army veteran, and retired businessman, has a personal and emotional interest in the story, as his daughter, home from college, began her first night as the hostess in what was then the Sea Crest Diner on that fateful evening in May of 1982. Fortunately, she was not one of the physically abused, but like all victims, had the trauma indelibly branded into her psyche. A widower, Renard currently resides in Long Beach NY. The "AFTERMATH" is his sixth writing endeavor. J.F. Nolan is also a native New Yorker. Following service in the US Marine Corps, he served in the Nassau County, NY, Police Department for twenty-four years, with fourteen years as a supervisor in the Detective Division. Nolan completed his last nine years in the Homicide Squad. Promoted to Lieutenant of Detectives, Nolan became the Homicide Squad Commander where he oversaw several hundred murder investigations. He also resides on Long Island with his wife, Gundie. The Rampage Sequel is his 6th novel. I spend a good deal of time explaining the PACE story that transpired over twenty five years ago, and my latest experiences via the PEARL restaurant vignette that basically started in late 2018. For historical purposes I have also included a word by word copy of the lengthy memorialized official factual record of the HOAX at the Aqua that gave rise to the novel Russian Revenge...The Hoax at the Aqua,” which in 2017, I co-authored with my since deceased writing partner, John Nolan. I have also briefly described the Paul Shapiro story as we have been friends now for sixty eight years. As the Corona virus pandemic engulfed us all, I also relate my personal uplifting experience with the extended quarantine and intermittent lock down and appropriate social distancing. Thankfully these latest stories are all lighter and happier than the original “Died Twice,” as they are basically devoid of any additional personal tragedies or ultra sad experiences. There is an implication that individuals who are bullied must have "asked for" this type of treatment, or deserved it. Sometimes, even the child who is bullied begins to internalize this idea. For many years, there has been a general acceptance and collective shrug when it comes to a child or adolescent with greater social capital or power pushing around a child perceived as subordinate. But bullying is not developmentally appropriate; it should not be considered a normal part of the typical social grouping that occurs throughout a child's life. Although bullying behavior endures through generations, the milieu is changing. Historically, bulling has occurred at school, the physical setting in which most of childhood is centered and the primary source for peer group formation. In recent years, however, the physical setting is not the only place bullying is occurring. Technology allows for an entirely new type of digital electronic aggression, cyberbullying, which takes place through chat rooms, instant messaging, social media, and other forms of digital electronic communication. Composition of peer groups, shifting demographics, changing societal norms, and modern technology are contextual factors that must be considered to understand and effectively react to bullying in the United States. Youth are embedded in multiple contexts and each of these contexts interacts with individual characteristics of youth in ways that either exacerbate or attenuate the association between these individual characteristics and bullying perpetration or victimization. This report lays bare a part of Canada's history that until recently was little-known to most non-Aboriginal Canadians. The Commission discusses the logic of the colonization of Canada's territories, and why and how policy and practice developed to end the existence of distinct societies of Aboriginal peoples. The report offers 94 calls to action on the part of governments, churches, public institutions and non-Aboriginal Canadians as a path to meaningful reconciliation of Canada today with Aboriginal citizens. Even though the historical experience of residential schools constituted an act of cultural genocide by Canadian government authorities, the United Nation's declaration of the rights of aboriginal peoples and the specific recommendations of the Commission offer a path to move from apology for these events to true reconciliation that can be embraced by all Canadians.
