They fall into three major divi sions: the physically handicapped, the mentally different, and the socially or emotionally maladjusted. NO statistics are needed to convince one Of the seriousness or bigness Of the problem. In every present school situation may be found children who belong in one or more of these groups. This bulletin is the work Of Miss Annie M. Cherry. Most Of the data deal with the situation in 1939-40. The programs described under the head ing Type Programs in Progress are for that year. NO doubt in most instances these programs have been improved, and undoubtedly there are other programs throughout the State that are just as promising, if not more so.
