Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book takes a look at what entails effective education development, teaching problems, infrastructure, curriculum development, etc. It also takes into account current trends and practices in the field, fostering an understanding of the issue which is more relevant. In addition, focus has also been concentrated upon incisively analysing and critiquing education development policies. An educational process aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of the rapidly changing, interdependent and unequal world in which we live. It seeks to engage people in analysis, reflection and action for local and global citizenship and participation. It is about supporting people in understanding, and in acting to transform the social, cultural, political and economic structures which affect their lives and other at personal, community, national and international levels. Technology, as we all know, has several facets, all of which are powerful drivers of change. New materials, biotechnology innovations, and robotics are but a few of them. However, the most profound of all is what is often called telematics the convergence and explosive growth and development of the information and communication technologies. A national system of education is often defined from the perspective of formal education system. This includes institutionalized formal education from early childhood education, primary education, secondary education, tertiary education and university education. The informal and non-formal education subsets are often assumed to be part of the formal education and if not ignored altogether, they are given little attention. Educational technology is the use of both physical hardware and educational theoretics. It encompasses several domains, including learning theory, computer-based training, online learning, and, where mobile technologies are used, m-learning. Accordingly, there are several discrete aspects to describing the intellectual and technical development of educational technology. Audio visual aids are sensitive tools used in teaching and as avenues for learning. These are planned educational materials that appeal to the senses of the people and quicken learning facilities for clear understanding. The book will to help the students in understanding introduction, teaching strategy, development, guiding principles and counselling for educational technology in education subject.
Book Synopsis The Technology of Teaching by : B. F. Skinner
Download or read book The Technology of Teaching written by B. F. Skinner and published by B. F. Skinner Foundation. This book was released on 2016-04-26 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On Parent's Day, in 1952, B. F. Skinner visited his daughter's fourth grade math class. As he watched the lesson, he became increasingly uncomfortable. Almost every principle of effective teaching that he had studied for more than 20 years was being violated in that classroom. Yet it was a typical class. The teacher showed how to solve the day's problems, then gave the students a worksheet to do. Some children began to work readily while others shifted uncomfortably in their chairs, or raised their hands for help. The teacher went from desk to desk, giving help and feedback. Skinner knew what was needed. Each student should be given a problem tailored precisely to his or her skill level, not to the class average, and every answer needed to be assessed immediately to determine the next step. The task was clearly impossible for one teacher. That afternoon, Skinner set to work on a teaching machine. Today's computers have made the mechanical machine obsolete, but the principles of how to design instruction in steps that lead from a basic level to competent performance are as valid today as they were in the 20th century. This book brings together Skinner's writings on education during the years he was most involved in improving education.

This book was released on 2020-12-18 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has been an evolution of the explanations on the results of research on human learning and how digital technologies have supported the design of more efficient learning environments. Previous theories such as Richard Mayer’s cognitive theory of multimedia learning and John Sweller’s cognitive load theory have gained signification attention and remain the two main theories within the multimedia learning field. However, there has not yet been a book compiled of several investigations on the specific 4C-ID model that covers different domains of knowledge. The 4C-ID model combines the two main theories of Richard Mayer and John Sweller to advance the field of learning and instruction. 4C-ID Model and Cognitive Approaches to Instructional Design and Technology: Emerging Research and Opportunities explores the behavioral and constructivist approaches to learning and instruction and focuses mainly on the particular cognitive approach and resulting theories and insights of the 4C-ID model. The chapters present the results of three experimental studies applied to the teaching of electrical circuits, initiation to computer programming using the Alice microworld, and computer programming using Python textual language. This book is a valuable resource tool for computer programmers, computer scientists, teachers, educational psychologists, practitioners, researchers, academicians, and students interested in the various approaches to learning and instruction in terms of the 4C-ID instructional model.

Book Synopsis Harnessing the Power of Collective Learning by : Roy Steiner
Download or read book Harnessing the Power of Collective Learning written by Roy Steiner and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-02-12 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What were new ideas 30 years ago, such as the concepts of participatory development and systems thinking, are now accepted norms in international development circles. The majority of professionals engaged in rural development accept the proposition that the people who participate in development should play an active role in defining, implementing, and evaluating projects intended to improve their productivity and lives. However this goal remains unrealized in many development programs. Harnessing the Power of Collective Learning considers the challenges and potential of enabling collective learning in rural development initiatives. The book presents 11 case studies of organizations trying to develop and implement collective learning systems as an integral component of sustainable development practice. Through systematic reflection on action and experience, key lessons and themes emerge regarding the nature of voice, participation, feedback loops, accountability and transparency, that will be useful for many others in the development community. This book is a useful resource for academics, practitioners and policy makers in the areas of international development, sustainable development, organizational development, philanthropy, learning communities, monitoring and evaluation and rural development.
