A partir de esto, se obtuvo una mezcla liquida con suficiente contenido de materia organica para la generacion de bioetanol."

Book excerpt: La producción de biocombustibles a partir de residuos de la agroindustria es una alternativa y atractiva opción para reducir los costos económicos en los rellenos sanitarios y las preocupaciones ambientales debido al cambio climático directamente relacionado con el uso de combustibles fósiles. Los desechos de mango pueden usarse para la obtención de bioetanol como biomasa o materia prima orgánica de energía renovable. Mediante el proceso de hidrólisis y fermentación se realizan las transformaciones bioquímicas necesarias para llevar a cabo la producción de esta sustancia. En primer lugar, el pretratamiento de hidrólisis ácida con ácido sulfúrico se realizó bajo dos condiciones de concentración: 1% y 3% (p / v) de H2SO4, la hidrólisis se llevó hasta una temperatura de 50 ʻ C durante 120 min. Posteriormente, se llevó a cabo el proceso de fermentación por Saccharomyces bayanus en condiciones anaeróbicas, temperatura ambiente (18ʻ C) y durante aproximadamente 6 días (144 h). Los resultados demuestran una diferencia significativa entre los tratamientos de 1% y 3% de hidrólisis ácida con una confianza del 95%, alcanzándose una eficiencia de hidrólisis del 23% y de 7% respectivamente. La fermentación fue evaluada a través del cambio de azúcares reductores, los cuales evidencian mayor consumo en el tiempo para las muestras pretratadas con 1%, debido a una menor concentración de sulfato de sodio (inhibidor) comparado con 3%. También, mediante cromatografía líquida y de gases, se concluyó que, debido a las bajas concentraciones de etanol, no fue posible cuantificar el etanol por HPLC, sin embargo, sí se pudo por el método GLC obteniéndose valores con tendencias acordes a la variación de concentración de azúcares en el tiempo. Finalmente, debido a errores sistemáticos, es prudente tomar acciones adicionales para el perfeccionamiento de las técnicas experimentales y en al añadir pasos adicionales como lo es la detoxificación de los tratamiento de hidrólisis.

Ahora bien, en la empresa papelera Familia se desechan una elevada cantidad de residuos papeleros. Por lo tanto, evaluar la viabilidad de la producción de un biocombustible, implementando los residuos lignocelulosicos del proceso como sustrato principal, representa una opción atractiva para la economía de la planta como para el medio ambiente. En el presenta trabajo se planteó y evaluó diversos modelos a escala industrial del proceso de producción y purificación de Biogás y Bioetanol en el software Aspen Plus V 9.0. Con el objetivo de encontrar una alternativa económicamente viable de producción de biocombustible. De los resultados obtenidos se puede afirmar que el proceso más atrayente representa la purificación por medio de dos equipos de filtración. Con un costo total de implementación de la planta total de US $1'733.920. El cual es mayormente representado por la solución de tanque reactor de 11650m_3 con tiempo estimado de retorno de 10 años. Por otra parte, de los escenarios de purificación de Biogás con soluciones alcalinas y presión de agua, los costos de operación y equipo son de US$ 2'978.313 y US$ 2'983.192 respectivamente, adicionalmente los porcentajes de recuperación no son los adecuados. Finalmente, para el proceso de producción de Bioetanol se obtuvo un porcentaje de recuperación que no sobrepaso el 10% por lo tanto se rechaza este escenario como alternativa de producción de biocombustible.
