Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What did Paul mean when he referred in His epistle to the Ephesians to the unsearchable riches of Christ? And what did he had in mind when he used the term "riches"? In the end, whatever these unsearchable riches might mean, who benefits from them and how can a Christian have them? If you would take up this book and start reading it, you would be surprised seeing that the author started his wonderful analysis on this topic by speaking of... humbleness! He picks up humbleness as the starting point in his exposition on Ephesians 3:8 because that was the apostle's attitude of heart when he started to write on the subject of the riches of Christ! Then he shows how this is the peculiar character of the souls upon whom Christ bestows His spiritual riches. Brooks then opens the Fountain "of the greatest riches, the best riches, the choicest riches" - namely the Person and work of Jesus Christ. "In Him we find overflowing the riches of justification, the riches of sanctification, the riches of consolation, and the riches of glorification.." This book has been originally published in 1655. Current edition has been proofread, typeset for eBook readers, and slightly updated for modern readers. About the author: Thomas Brooks (1608-1680) was an English nonconformist Puritan preacher and author. He wrote extensively and with a keen eye on devotional Christian life. Brooks died after over 40 years of Gospel ministry, in 1680.

Book excerpt: "Besides Jesus, no one has kept me from despair, or taken me deeper into the mysteries of the gospel, than the apostle Paul." —John Piper No one has had a greater impact on the world for eternal good than the apostle Paul—except Jesus himself. For John Piper, this impact is very personal. He does not just admire and trust Paul. He loves him. Piper gives us thirty glimpses into why his heart and mind respond this way. Can a Christian-killer really endure 195 lashes from a heart of love? Can a mystic who thinks he was caught up into heaven be a model of lucid rationality? Can an ethnocentric Jew write the most beautiful call to reconciliation? Can a person who lives with the unceasing anguish of empathy be always rejoicing? Can a man's description of the horrors of human sin be exceeded by his delight in human splendor? Can a man with a backbone of steel be as tender as a nursing mother? If we know this man—if we see what Piper sees—we too will love him. Paul's testimony is a matter of life and death. Piper invites you into his relationship with Paul in the hope that you will know life, forever.

What we have in Christ, what Jesus Christ brought to us, cannot be comprehended by the human mind. And no matter how you try to find them out, you cannot know all about them. God loves us more than we think or imagine. And He gave the world His Only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have Eternal Life. God has given us many great and precious provisions in Christ Jesus. Behold, what manner of love that the Father has given to us, that we should be called the children of God! And what is more? We are heir of God and joint-heirs with Christ!

Book Synopsis The Message of Galatians by : John Stott
Download or read book The Message of Galatians written by John Stott and published by InterVarsity Press. This book was released on 2021-01-05 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To enclaves of young converts in the mountains of Asia Minor, Paul wrote what is perhaps the oldest document in the New Testament—the letter to the Galatians. Paul's readers were struggling with numerous issues: How were men and women to be put right with God? Among a variety of religious authorities espousing different teachings, how were they to know who was right? How could Christians in the midst of a pagan culture live lives truly pleasing to God? Only one way, answered Paul: through Jesus Christ. In this volume, John Stott helps us understand the message of Galatians and how it holds true in the face of current challenges to our faith. Guiding readers passage by passage through Galatians, he provides helpful background, highlights key themes, and offers applications for Christians today. This revised edition of a classic Bible Speaks Today volume features a new interior design, updated Scripture quotations, and light updates throughout.

Book Synopsis Expository Exultation by : John Piper
Download or read book Expository Exultation written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2018-04-16 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “God has appointed preaching in worship as one great means of accomplishing his ultimate goal in the world.” —John Piper John Piper makes a compelling claim in these pages about the purpose of preaching: it is intended not merely as an explanation of the text but also as a means of awakening worship by being worship in and of itself. Christian preaching is a God-appointed miracle aiming to awaken the supernatural seeing, savoring, and showing of the glory of Christ. Distilling over forty years of experience in preaching and teaching, Piper shows preachers how and what to communicate from God’s Word, so that God’s purpose on earth will advance through Biblesaturated, Christ-exalting, God-centered preaching—in other words, expository exultation.
Book Synopsis Renewal Theology by : J. Rodman Williams
Download or read book Renewal Theology written by J. Rodman Williams and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2011-05-03 with total page 1473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Renewal Theology deals with the full range of Christian truth from within the charismatic tradition. Previously published as three separate volumes, Renewal Theology represents the first exhaustive, balanced articulation of charismatic theology. Renewal Theology discusses: Book One--God, the World, and Redemption - Book Two--Salvation, the Holy Spirit, and Christian Living - Book Three--The Church, the Kingdom, and Last Things. As theology, this work is an intellectual achievement. But it is much more than that. The author urges the church to undertake its task of theology in the proper spirit: - an attitude of prayer - a deepening sense of reverence - an ever-increasing purity of heart - a spirit of growing love - a theological approach rooted in the glory of God. Done in such a spirit, theology becomes a faithful and powerful witness to the living God.
Book Synopsis The Wealth, Walk and Warfare of the Christian by : Ruth Paxson
Download or read book The Wealth, Walk and Warfare of the Christian written by Ruth Paxson and published by Book Ministry. This book was released on 2011-11-27 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Author’s Note This book does not purport to be an exposition of Ephesians verse by verse, or doctrine by doctrine. Some rich nuggets out of this vast gold mine will not be dug up at all, but left for you to mine for yourself. The book will deal with the content of the epistle rather than its contents. The message will be distinctly personal, for it is written of what one’s eyes have seen and ears beard, and what has entered into one’s own heart of all those wondrous things which God has prepared for them that love Him. If this message stimulates you to dig deep and to dwell deep in Ephesians, then the most fervent prayer for it will have been answered. The message purposely will be practical. Our desire is to show the essential order in and connection between the first three chapters, which deal with doctrine, and the last three, which deal with experience. We shall see in Ephesians how our wealth is to be manifested in our walk and maintained in our warfare.
