This book was released on 2014-05-12 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Proceedings of the Third International Conference on Data and Knowledge Bases: Improving Usability and Responsiveness compiles papers presented at the Third International Conference on Data and Knowledge Bases held in Jerusalem, Israel on June 28-30, 1988. This book discusses the management system for graph-like documents, selection of processing strategies for different recursive queries, and supporting concurrent access to facts in logic programs. The design considerations for a Prolog database engine, experience with the domain algebra, and two level transaction management in a multiprocessor database machine are also described. This publication likewise covers the non-deterministic choice in Datalog and locally balanced compact Trie Hashing. This compilation is a good source for researchers and specialists of disciplines related to computer science.

Book Synopsis Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming - CP 2009 by : Ian P. Gent
Download or read book Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming - CP 2009 written by Ian P. Gent and published by Springer. This book was released on 2009-09-19 with total page 861 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the papers presented at CP 2009: The 15th International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming. It was held from September 20–24, 2009 at the Rectory of the New University of Lisbon, Portugal. Everyone involved with the conference thanks our sponsors for their support. There were 128 submissions to the research track, of which 53 were accepted for a rate of 41.4%. Each submission was reviewed by three reviewers, with a small number of additional reviews obtained in exceptional cases. Each review waseitherbyaProgrammeCommitteemember, orbyacolleagueinvitedtohelp by a committee member thanks to their particular expertise. Papers submitted as long papers were accepted at full length or not at all. It is important to note that papers submitted as short papers were held to the same high standards of qualityas long papers. There is thus no distinction in these proceedings between long and short papers, except of course the number of pages they occupy. As it happens, the acceptancerates of short and long papers wereverysimilar indeed. Therewere13submissionstotheapplicationtrack,ofwhich8wereaccepted, fora rateof61.5%.Papersunderwentthe samereviewprocessasregularpapers, and there was not a separate committee for reviewing application track papers. However, papers in the application track were not required to be original or novel research, but to be original and novel as an application of constraints.
Book Synopsis Multilinguality in Knowledge Graphs by : L.-A. Kaffee
Download or read book Multilinguality in Knowledge Graphs written by L.-A. Kaffee and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 2023-11-14 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Content on the web is predominantly written in English, making it inaccessible to those who only speak other languages. Knowledge graphs can store multilingual information, facilitate the creation of multilingual applications, and make content accessible to multiple language communities. This book, Multilinguality in Knowledge Graphs, presents studies which assess and improve the state of labels and languages in knowledge graphs and the application of multilingual information. The author proposes ways of using multilingual knowledge graphs to reduce the gaps in coverage between languages, and the book explores the current state of language distribution in knowledge graphs by developing a framework based on existing standards, frameworks, and guidelines to measure label and language distribution in knowledge graphs. Applying this framework to a dataset representing the web of data, and to Wikidata, both a lack of labeling on the web and a bias towards a small set of languages were found. The book explores how a knowledge of labels and languages can be used in the domain of answering questions, and demonstrates how the framework can be applied to the task of ranking and selecting knowledge graphs for a set of user questions. Transliteration and translation of knowledge graph labels and aliases are also covered, as is the automatic classification of labels into one or the other to train a model for each task. The book provides a wide range of information on working with data and knowledge graphs in less-resourced languages.
