Book Synopsis A CMOS Self-Powered Front-End Architecture for Subcutaneous Event-Detector Devices by : Jordi Colomer-Farrarons
Download or read book A CMOS Self-Powered Front-End Architecture for Subcutaneous Event-Detector Devices written by Jordi Colomer-Farrarons and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-02-17 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A CMOS Self-Powered Front-End Architecture for Subcutaneous Event-Detector Devices presents the conception and prototype realization of a Self-Powered architecture for subcutaneous detector devices. The architecture is designed to work as a true/false (event detector) or threshold level alarm of some substances, ions, etc... that are detected through a three-electrodes amperometric BioSensor approach. The device is envisaged as a Low-Power subcutaneous implantable application powered by an inductive link, one emitter antenna at the external side of the skin and the receiver antenna under the skin. The sensor is controlled with a Potentiostat circuit and then, a post-processing unit detects the desired levels and activates the transmission via a backscattering method by the inductive link. All the instrumentation, except the power module, is implemented in the so called BioChip. Following the idea of the powering link to harvest energy of the magnetic induced link at the implanted device, a Multi-Harvesting Power Chip (MHPC) has been also designed.
Book Synopsis Implications of Emerging Micro- and Nanotechnologies by : National Research Council
Download or read book Implications of Emerging Micro- and Nanotechnologies written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2003-01-06 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Expansion of micro-technology applications and rapid advances in nano-science have generated considerable interest by the Air Force in how these developments will affect the nature of warfare and how it could exploit these trends. The report notes four principal themes emerging from the current technological trends: increased information capability, miniaturization, new materials, and increased functionality. Recommendations about Air Force roles in micro- and nanotechnology research are presented including those areas in which the Air Force should take the lead. The report also provides a number of technical and policy findings and recommendations that are critical for effective development of the Air Force's micro- and nano-science and technology program

Download or read book Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Automatic Control written by Bo Huang and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-07-15 with total page 1268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On the basis of instrument electrical and automatic control system, the 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Automatic Control (CEEAC) was established at the crossroads of information technology and control technology, and seeks to effectively apply information technology to a sweeping trend that views control as the core of intelligent manufacturing and life. This book takes a look forward into advanced manufacturing development, an area shaped by intelligent manufacturing. It highlights the application and promotion of process control represented by traditional industries, such as the steel industry and petrochemical industry; the technical equipment and system cooperative control represented by robot technology and multi-axis CNC; and the control and support of emerging process technologies represented by laser melting and stacking, as well as the emerging industry represented by sustainable and intelligent life. The book places particular emphasis on the micro-segments field, such as intelligent micro-grids, new energy vehicles, and the Internet of Things.

Book Synopsis Instrument Engineers' Handbook, Volume Two by : Bela G. Liptak
Download or read book Instrument Engineers' Handbook, Volume Two written by Bela G. Liptak and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-08 with total page 2464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The latest update to Bela Liptak's acclaimed "bible" of instrument engineering is now available. Retaining the format that made the previous editions bestsellers in their own right, the fourth edition of Process Control and Optimization continues the tradition of providing quick and easy access to highly practical information. The authors are practicing engineers, not theoretical people from academia, and their from-the-trenches advice has been repeatedly tested in real-life applications. Expanded coverage includes descriptions of overseas manufacturer's products and concepts, model-based optimization in control theory, new major inventions and innovations in control valves, and a full chapter devoted to safety. With more than 2000 graphs, figures, and tables, this all-inclusive encyclopedic volume replaces an entire library with one authoritative reference. The fourth edition brings the content of the previous editions completely up to date, incorporates the developments of the last decade, and broadens the horizons of the work from an American to a global perspective. Béla G. Lipták speaks on Post-Oil Energy Technology on the AT&T Tech Channel.
