Book excerpt: The quantity, diversity, and sophistication of Internet of Things (IoT) items are rapidly increasing, posing significant issues but also innovative solutions for forensic science. Such systems are becoming increasingly common in public locations, businesses, universities, residences, and other shared offices, producing enormous amounts of data at rapid speeds in a variety of forms. IoT devices can be used as suspects, digital witnesses, or instruments of crime and cyberattacks, posing new investigation problems, forensic issues, security threats, legal concerns, privacy concerns, and ethical dilemmas. A cyberattack on IoT devices might target the device itself or associated systems, particularly vital infrastructure. This book discusses the advancements in IoT and Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) forensics. The first objective is to learn and understand the fundamentals of IoT forensics. This objective will answer the question of why and how IoT has evolved as one of the most promising and widely accepted technologies across the globe and has many widely accepted applications. The second objective is to learn how to use CPS to address many computational problems. CPS forensics is a promising domain, and there are various advancements in this field. This book is structured so that the topics of discussion are relevant to each reader’s particular areas of interest. The book’s goal is to help each reader to see the relevance of IoT and CPS forensics to his or her career or interests. This book not only presents numerous case studies from a global perspective, but it also compiles a large amount of literature and research from a database. As a result, this book effectively demonstrates the concerns, difficulties, and trends surrounding the topic while also encouraging readers to think globally. The main goal of this project is to encourage both researchers and practitioners to share and exchange their experiences and recent studies between academia and industry.

Book excerpt: The rapid growth of IoT and its applications in smart cities pose significant challenges for academic scholars. The increasing number of interconnected devices and the massive amounts of data they generate strain traditional networks, leading to inefficiencies and security vulnerabilities. Additionally, the centralized control plane in Software Defined Networks (SDN) presents a single point of failure, hindering network performance, while IoT devices themselves are susceptible to attacks, compromising user data and privacy. To address these pressing issues, Network-Enabled IoT Applications for Smart City Services offers a compelling solution. Edited by Dr. K. Hemant Kumar Reddy, Dr. Diptendu SinhaRoy, and Tapas Mishra, this book advocates leveraging SDN to handle high-frequency data streams effectively. It also proposes the integration of blockchain technology to enhance security and reliability in IoT applications, offering a roadmap for scholars to improve network efficiency, security, and reliability in IoT and smart city domains. With their extensive expertise, the authors provide academic scholars with a comprehensive and innovative resource that inspires further research and development in this evolving field, enabling them to make significant contributions to the advancement of IoT and smart city technologies.

This book was released on 2023-03-01 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the modern technological advancements and revolutions in the biomedical sector. Progress in the contemporary sensing, Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning algorithms and architectures have introduced new approaches in the mobile healthcare. A continuous observation of patients with critical health situation is required. It allows monitoring of their health status during daily life activities such as during sports, walking and sleeping. It is realizable by intelligently hybridizing the modern IoT framework, wireless biomedical implants and cloud computing. Such solutions are currently under development and in testing phases by healthcare and governmental institutions, research laboratories and biomedical companies. The biomedical signals such as electrocardiogram (ECG), electroencephalogram (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), phonocardiogram (PCG), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary (COP), Electrooculography (EoG), photoplethysmography (PPG), and image modalities such as positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computerized tomography (CT) are non-invasively acquired, measured, and processed via the biomedical sensors and gadgets. These signals and images represent the activities and conditions of human cardiovascular, neural, vision and cerebral systems. Multi-channel sensing of these signals and images with an appropriate granularity is required for an effective monitoring and diagnosis. It renders a big volume of data and its analysis is not feasible manually. Therefore, automated healthcare systems are in the process of evolution. These systems are mainly based on biomedical signal and image acquisition and sensing, preconditioning, features extraction and classification stages. The contemporary biomedical signal sensing, preconditioning, features extraction and intelligent machine and deep learning-based classification algorithms are described. Each chapter starts with the importance, problem statement and motivation. A self-sufficient description is provided. Therefore, each chapter can be read independently. To the best of the editors’ knowledge, this book is a comprehensive compilation on advances in non-invasive biomedical signal sensing and processing with machine and deep learning. We believe that theories, algorithms, realizations, applications, approaches, and challenges, which are presented in this book will have their impact and contribution in the design and development of modern and effective healthcare systems.
