Book Synopsis La prévision à court terme by : Rudolph Lewandowski
Download or read book La prévision à court terme written by Rudolph Lewandowski and published by FeniXX. This book was released on 1979-01-01T00:00:00+01:00 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Modeling and Stochastic Learning for Forecasting in High Dimensions by : Anestis Antoniadis
Download or read book Modeling and Stochastic Learning for Forecasting in High Dimensions written by Anestis Antoniadis and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-06-04 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The chapters in this volume stress the need for advances in theoretical understanding to go hand-in-hand with the widespread practical application of forecasting in industry. Forecasting and time series prediction have enjoyed considerable attention over the last few decades, fostered by impressive advances in observational capabilities and measurement procedures. On June 5-7, 2013, an international Workshop on Industry Practices for Forecasting was held in Paris, France, organized and supported by the OSIRIS Department of Electricité de France Research and Development Division. In keeping with tradition, both theoretical statistical results and practical contributions on this active field of statistical research and on forecasting issues in a rapidly evolving industrial environment are presented. The volume reflects the broad spectrum of the conference, including 16 articles contributed by specialists in various areas. The material compiled is broad in scope and ranges from new findings on forecasting in industry and in time series, on nonparametric and functional methods and on on-line machine learning for forecasting, to the latest developments in tools for high dimension and complex data analysis.

Book Synopsis Electrical Load-Curve Coverage by : Robert Maxwell
Download or read book Electrical Load-Curve Coverage written by Robert Maxwell and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 567 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical Load-Curve Coverage covers the proceedings of the Symposium on Load-Curve Coverage in Future Electric Power Generating Systems, organized by the Committee on Electric Power, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Rome, Italy, on October 24-28, 1977. This symposium considers the opportunity for an international exchange of economic and technical information on problems connected with the coverage of the full load curve. This book is composed of five parts encompassing 48 chapters, and begins with the optimum composition of the generating system. The first part considers the use of mathematical models for optimization of energy sources in some countries. The succeeding parts deal with the means of electricity generation for the variable part of the load curve. This part examines the electric consumption of steam and gas turbines and the concept of peak-power load. Other parts discuss the means of storage at user level. The final parts consider natural characteristics of the energy demand (load curves). This book will prove useful electrical engineers and researchers.

Book Synopsis Accounting in France (RLE Accounting) by : Yannick Lemarchand
Download or read book Accounting in France (RLE Accounting) written by Yannick Lemarchand and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-04-03 with total page 573 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume illustrates the research not only of French accountants (Colasse, Durand, Jouanique, Lemarchand, Nikitin, Richard, Tessier) but also the work of Belgian authors writing in French (Stevelinck, Haulotte) and of French non-accountants (de Swarte, Durdilly, Sauvy). The work of British and North American academics, writing in English on French accounting history is also illustrated from the 1930s (Howard, Edwards), through to the 1960s (Parker) and the more recent research of Standish, Fortin and Bhimani. The contributions to this volume have been arranged both chronologically and thematically as follows: the earliest business accounting records; the first French accounting authors; Colbert, Savbary and the Ordonnance de Commerce; the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries; cost accounting; the national accounting plan; national income accounting; government accounting and accounting theory. An abstract of each contribution is given in both English and French.

Book Synopsis Management of Weather and Climate Risk in the Energy Industry by : Alberto Troccoli
Download or read book Management of Weather and Climate Risk in the Energy Industry written by Alberto Troccoli and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-12-21 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meteorological and climate data are indeed essential both in day-to-day energy management and for the definition of production and distribution infrastructures. For instance, the supply of electricity to users can be disturbed by extreme meteorological events such as thunderstorms with unusually strong winds, severe icing, severe cold spells, sea level elevation associated with storm surges, floods ... To be protected against such events, it is not sufficient to act after they have taken place. It is necessary to identify their potential impacts precisely and assess the probability of their occurrence. This book shows that this can only be done through an enhanced dialogue between the energy community and the climate and meteorology community. This implies an in-depth dialogue between actors to define precisely what kind of data is needed and how it should be used. Météo-France has been in long-term cooperation with the energy sector, including the fields of electricity production and distribution. Drawing on this experience, it should be noted in this respect the importance of lo- term partnership between actors as exemplified here by the message of EDF.
