Download or read book Advances in Cryogenic Engineering written by K. D. Timmerhaus and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-08 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Support from the National Science Foundation has made it possible for the tenth annual Cryogenic Engineering Conference, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania and capably directed by K. R. Atkins and his staff, to emphasize the major international advances in cryogenic engineering. This specific emphasis resulted in a final program of over one hundred papers and has made it necessary to publish the proceedings of the conference in two volumes. The first volume will be similar in nature to previous volumes in this series, while the second volume will feature the international aspect of the conference program. The latter volume, because of this distinction, will be entitled International Advances in Cryogenic Engineering. As in the past, the Cryogenic Engineering Conference Committee gratefully acknow ledges the assistance of all the dedicated workers in the cryogenic field who have contributed their time in reviewing the preliminary papers for the program and the final manuscripts for this volume. Since the list of participants in this thankless task numbers well over one hundred, any attempt to acknowledge their individual contributions in the limited space available would be practically impossible.

This book was released on 2024 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the 2nd volume of proceedings of the 1st Smart Nuclear Power Technology Forum and the 8th China Nuclear Power Plant Digital Technology and Application Seminar held in Shenzhen, China in June 2024. This seminar aims to explore the software and hardware of digital and instrument control (I&C) systems in nuclear power plants, such as inspection, testing, certification and research of sensors, actuators and control systems, and the application of electrical and intelligent operation and maintenance technologies. It aims to provide a platform for experts, scholars and nuclear power practitioners to exchange technology and share experience. At the same time, it also provides a platform for the combination of universities and enterprises in the aspects of production, education and research, and promotes the safe development of nuclear power plants. In addition, readers will encounter new ideas to achieve more efficient and safer instruments and control systems.
Book Synopsis Process Heat Transfer by : Robert W. Serth
Download or read book Process Heat Transfer written by Robert W. Serth and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-01-27 with total page 633 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Process Heat Transfer is a reference on the design and implementation of industrial heat exchangers. It provides the background needed to understand and master the commercial software packages used by professional engineers in the design and analysis of heat exchangers. This book focuses on types of heat exchangers most widely used by industry: shell-and-tube exchangers (including condensers, reboilers and vaporizers), air-cooled heat exchangers and double-pipe (hairpin) exchangers. It provides a substantial introduction to the design of heat exchanger networks using pinch technology, the most efficient strategy used to achieve optimal recovery of heat in industrial processes. - Utilizes leading commercial software. Get expert HTRI Xchanger Suite guidance, tips and tricks previously available via high cost professional training sessions. - Details the development of initial configuration for a heat exchanger and how to systematically modify it to obtain an efficient final design. - Abundant case studies and rules of thumb, along with copious software examples, provide a complete library of reference designs and heuristics for readers to base their own designs on.
