A partir de tal abordagem é examinado o conteúdo básico dos conceitos e justificativas que envolvem as práticas de contabilidade gerencial, objeto do estudo. Dentro de um programa internacional, e com base na publicação do resultado de pesquisas pertinentes, procede-se à investigação sobre as práticas adotadas pelas empresas em alguns países pesquisados. Críticas de pesquisadores nacionais e internacionais complementam a apreciação das práticas contábeis consideradas. Ampliando seu campo de investigação, este estudo é embasado em uma pesquisa efetuada junto a quarenta e nove subsidiárias brasileiras de empresas multinacionais, com o objetivo de identificar as práticas contábeis ger.
