Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I hope this book will touch your heart concerning the many attributes of life I have shared with you. Although I do not have a set style of writing I consider myself as being creative and versatile a God given ability and talent to create words with energy and emotions. The variety of poems that are placed in this book are unique in their own way. I pray which ever poem or prose enlightens your heart that you are able to embrace the words and share them with someone else. I pray this book will help you to be able to encourage the life of someone around you and help to change the course of their life. Poetry is a spiritual gift of love concerning the many evolutions and cycles that this world we call the planet earth evolves around. It is a gift of love shared by the muses of ones connectivity to bring an individual or individuals into a glorifying act of happiness and peace through each word, each line, each stanza and ending. What you choose to grasp and take with you concerning my work I pray it will be with you forever. My Book of Poems for the World is a mixture of my work. According to how you feel at the time you pick up the book to read it. I am certain you will thumb through the pages and say to yourself, I like this one or that one. Just remember that any poem or prose you choose it is definitely up to your liking. You will enjoy them all but everyone has a favorite. I expressed many emotions and feelings in this book concerning the poetry and prose enclosed. You will find poems and prose of, love, romance, humor, spiritual enlightenment, poems and prose for just a little food for thought. On the spiritual side of it all I must say that the prose, Just One More Soul is one of my best works. It deals with the lost soul and how you must seek God for yourself. There is also, A Penny for Your Thoughts quite controversial yet it leads you to a higher power as one would say reminding you in the process of course there is only one true God. If you would go deeper into the book and study it carefully I am certain that you are going to run across what I consider a little food for thought a prose I have written titled, My Shoes, My Bed, My Table if you really have a heart ticking in your body once you finish this one prose I am certain you will become more involved in what is taking place with those who are in need of assistance. Not just the homeless but the widows, orphans and strangers who you turn your backs on daily. I Cry from the Womb is based on the awareness all mothers should have due to their ability to bring life into this world, a child crying for their mothers protection (sensitive and touching). Although I do not consider myself to be a controversial writer I understand that some of my work does take some people into deep thought(meaning critics) and will cause them to think otherwise. I must state because of my love for all mankind I only write what I know to be factual and true, what I have experienced and what I have researched in order that the truth does not get distorted. Prose like The Whip, An Unpaid Debt, The Dim Light of Justice and a few others may spark a few thoughts concerning your creed, color or religious background. I state it is time for a positive change to occur and if my work begins to reopen the doors of concern for everyone to put their cards on the table and show their hands then there is not a need to vote.

For the last twenty years, during states of deep meditation, Ilchi Lee has often experienced a natural flow of words that express his innermost thoughts and feelings. Accordingly, he says, !?!|But I have never composed a poem!| Poems come to me.!? Ilchi Lee!?s beautiful words are both inspirational in their power to stir the soul, as well as straight forward in their message of truth. His poems provide us a place to rest, a soothing touch upon our hearts, and a guiding hand for our souls, giving us the courage and determination to transform ourselves. As in Healing Society and other previous works, he seeks to shatter the illusions about enlightenment and lead us to our True Selves. In short, his words are that of a spiritual guide on this journey of the soul that we call life. Ilchi Lee!?s own drawings also grace the pages of this book. Created without any preconceived forms or images, the drawings reflect a natural flow of energy as expressed through his hand. These drawings may also serve as tools for meditation, as they are filled with a deep, inner smile.

Book excerpt: THE CROSS ROADS OF DESTINY Little children, their minds filled with wonder soon start trying to find out the truth about the strange and intriguing world in which they find themselves. They regularly consult the giants of this land, whom they regard as the established Gods. They constantly bombard them with questions and get all sorts of weird answers, which serves only to increase their puzzlement. Christmas comes around and that huge and benevolent old gentleman with thick red coat and bushy white beard stealthily delivers presents of the child’s choice in the dead of the night. Amongst the fascinating toys, one inevitably finds a large book often called the Golden Treasure Book. This book is filled with pictures of dinosaurs, ancient cities and stars and planets. At least in this book the child must find out all that he wishes to know. Twenty years later our little child is now himself an established God with little children of his own who ask the same eternal questions. Unfortunately, he has learned very little in all this time and the answers which he gives his children are the same inadequate ones which he received himself. This is the lot of the average man, he never learns the real and basic truths of life, and after he reaches maturity he usually ceases trying. The dirty devices of adult humanity are by now much more intriguing to his mind.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These poems are a conglomeration of a thought process on inner conflict of good versus evil. This will intrigue and make a person question, their beliefs and ideas upon all celestial plains. Including those of life and death, love and hate, life and loss, and surviving. One may conclude that such travesty and joy, are within each of us. To take us at into hell, or into that of enlightenment. We all seek truth and knowledge of the past and future. Who is to say, which, is true amongst the stars and time itself. There is but one truth, upon oneself, this is the ultimate goal from enlightenment. To engage all within, of good and evil. Of intellect, and subversion of all one sees, hears, and does, upon one's self and others. Do we ask or dare to ask questions, upon our inner most expectations? We are but, in a time, where dimensions move and flow, like an unfettered ocean in time, within our dreams, we do cross in all aspects of time and space, good and bad, life and death, to find but the truth or not, beyond our own confinements. Shall we find all we are or shall we be controlled by our own fears and desperation to never seek nor experience ultimate joy to share. Our knowledge and our abilities amongst each other and those yet unknown, and to yell out helping those whom beseech a belief beyond that of faith, trust and hope. Such aspirations are within the grasp of each of us, to follow what realities we seek. We are but mortals, yet being mortals, we have the abilities to leap within our own minds and change or destroy for good or evil. To yet those unborn, enter such this poetry book, for you are now alone to see the conflict and see the hope of yet all those unborn and yet unknown.

This book was released on 2005-04-01 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The verses in Wu Tzu Poems were composed during a period spanning from the Author’s initial spiritual quest through the time of Her attainment. “Wu Tzu,” which may be translated as “No Death” or “Life Eternal,” is The Supreme Master Ching Hai’s pen name from that significant phase in Her life. Originally written in Aulacese, all of the poems in this collection have been translated into English by The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association (SMCHIA) Book Department, with guidance from the Author. To provide readers with a glimpse of The Supreme Master Ching Hai’s genuine appreciation for the art of poetry, we have included an excerpt from the translated poem “The Saint” with editing comments by the Poet. Wu Tzu Poems presents an intimate chronicle of the Poet’s journey in search of the Truth. This undertaking was motivated by Her deep yearning to seek enlightenment for all beings, not just Herself, even at a time when Her life was regarded as highly successful by worldly standards. Each poem marks a step on the passage toward spiritual awakening. But these verses reveal more than just a series of stages; they also reflect the devotion of a great Soul, and as such, touch the true Self or Soul in each of us. We hope that readers who have felt a longing for Home will find a profound echo of their own sentiments within these pages.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bloom surveys with majestic view the literature of the West from the Old Testament to Samuel Beckett. He provocatively rereads the Yahwist (or J) writer, Jeremiah, Job, Jonah, the Iliad, the Aeneid, Dante's Divine Comedy, Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, the Henry IV plays, Paradise Lost, Blake's Milton, Wordsworth's Prelude, and works by Freud, Kafka, and Beckett. In so doing, he uncovers the truth that all our attempts to call any strong work more sacred than another are merely political and social formulations. This is criticism at its best. Table of Contents: 1. The Hebrew Bible 2. From Homer to Dante 3. Shakespeare 4. Milton 5. Enlightenment and Romanticism 6. Freud and Beyond Reviews of this book: Bloom's puissance is not entirely his own; for some of it, he is indebted to Nietzsche, Freud, Schopenhauer, Gershom Scholem, and other masters. But enough of it is his own to constitute a distinctive form of splendor. --Denis Donoghue, New York Review of Books Reviews of this book: The wit, the eclecticism and the gripping paradoxes...the force of [Bloom's] intellect carries the reader from pinnacle to pinnacle, showing a new spiritual landscape from each. --Roger Scruton, Washington Times Reviews of this book: In some ways the wildest of the wild men (and women), in some ways the most traditional of the traditionalists, Harold Bloom remains serene amid the turbulence--much of it caused by him. He stands dauntless, a party of one, as thrilling to behold up on the high wire as he is (at times) throttling to read on the page...From this strong critic dealing with these strong poets comes a potent mix of insight. --Mark Feeney, Boston Globe

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A lyrical translation of an inspired selection of verses from the earliest Buddhist monks and nuns. More than two thousand years ago, the earliest disciples of the Buddha put into verse their experiences on the spiritual journey--from their daily struggles to their spiritual realizations. Over time the verses were collected to form the Theragatha and Therigatha, the "Verses of Elder Monks" and "Verses of Elder Nuns" respectively. In Songs of the Sons and Daughters of the Buddha, renowned poets Andrew Schelling and Anne Waldman have translated the most poignant poems in these collections, bringing forth the visceral, immediate qualities that are often lost in more scholarly renditions. These selections reveal the fears, loves, mishaps, expectations, and joys of the early monks and nuns, when, struck by wild insight, they cried out the anguish or solace they knew in their lives.

Book excerpt: The 1990s saw the appearance of many new works that have redefined and embellished the canon of Holocaust literature. While many of these works have quickly become classics, some have raised new questions about the processes of canonicity. This study concentrates particularly on works in German by Jewish Holocaust survivors written and published approximately fifty years after the fateful cataclysm, focusing on such crucial issues as genre and testimony. Despite the long shadow cast by the Holocaust on subsequent generations, the author shows that narratives on the Holocaust have continued to thrive, offering inventive interpretations of questions that have been thought to defy explanation.
