Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Where The Twilight Zone meets The New Testament is where 'Flesh and Blood, ' the first volume in the PLANET JESUS trilogy, takes place. In his latest novel, Douglas Brode, now collaborating with his son Shaun L., retells the old story of The Christ with a new twist: The angel Gabriel, who descended from the stars to impregnate Mary, wife of Joseph, with a Divine Child was actually an ancient alien. His purpose was to create a high-level hybrid race so that civilization on earth could rapidly advance. In "Book One: Flesh and Blood," Brode and Brode tell the tale of Jesus' childhood, from the earliest known adventures to that moment when, at age twelve, the Biblical hero appears to disappear from Israel. In "Book Two: Body and Soul," the team will offer an explanation of the so-called Missing Years. "Book Three: Hope and Glory," will re-evaluate the Return, the Mission, and the Crucifixion for 21st century readers. What the Bible takes at face value as inexplicable metaphysical occurrences will be analyzed in a realistic manner, if according to the belief (as expressed in such influential books as CHARIOTS OF THE GODS) that ancient deities, as crudely recorded on the walls of caves and later presented as sophisticated artworks) were not the product of early humankind's imagination but their attempts to document our First Encounters with extra-terrestrial beings. PLANET JESUS also develops the ever-expanding theory that The Savior may well have been a woman: The Daughter, rather than the Son, of Man. Think of this as "Close Encounters of the Christ Kind."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The PLANET JESUS Trilogy is just CRAZY - in the most WONDERFUL and CREATIVE way. Highly recommended - a must-read!" -- Rod Lurie, director/writer/producer (KILLING REAGAN, COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, STRAW DOGS, RESURRECTING THE CHAMP, NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, etc.) Gospels long attributed to such disciples as Mark, Matthew, John, Luke, Judas and even Mary Magdalene--some considered canonical by the church, others relegated to the margins of Christianity--reveal much about Jesus' youth until the age thirteen, as well as The Mission that consumed the final year and a half of his life. But there is no record of The Missing Years . . . until now. In this, the second installment of their PLANET JESUS trilogy, the father/son writing team of Douglas Brode and Shaun Brode present a carefully researched revelation of what might have occurred during the twenty-one lost years. As with Volume One, "Flesh & Blood," the authors present their findings in the form of a historical novel: A purportedly 'found' text, written by the gentle rebel who inspired a nonviolent revolution that changed the way of the world. No proof exists that Jesus committed a single word to print. Some experts argue that as an illiterate he had to be quoted by disciples. "Body & Soul" offers an imaginative speculation as to what an autobiography might have been like. The premise includes a recently discovered fact--Jesus had a twin brother, Joses--as well as a speculation that has never been proven or disproven, but is often raised in open-minded discussions of the most important being to ever walk the face of the earth: Was Jesus a woman? All books in the PLANET JESUS trilogy ("Hope & Glory," the third, will conclude this epic) draw heavily on Ancient Alien Theory: our planet was visited in pre-history by beings from another world (extra-terrestrials) traveling in flying saucers (Unidentified Flying Objects). Visitors from far planets were hailed by primitive humanoids as 'gods' and 'angels.' In truth, they were flesh and blood creatures with limited powers that exceeded those of early primates. When these Fallen Angels mated with prehistoric females, the resultant new race would move beyond Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon Man to become, in a Quantum Leap that defies Darwinian evolution, the first true people. The rare few descended from high-ranking Archangels were the Anointed Ones: Buddha, Confucius, Herakles and Jesus among them. Why was Jesus referred to as Christ, not a Hebraic term but Athenian? How is it that Jesus spoke of theological ideas unknown in Israel though significant in China, Japan, Africa, and India? If we assume the miracles actually happened, owing to clear records by multiple witnesses, here are logical explanations as to how Jesus walked on water, transformed water into wine, fed a multitude on a few loaves and fish, cured diverse maladies such as blindness, madness, and leprosy, even rose a man up from the dead. Previously these have been accepted on faith or rejected by doubters. PLANET JESUS offers a viable middle-ground between such extremes: a logical explanation as to how all these could have occurred in the reality that was Palestine, Year 31.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For over half a century, scholars have laboured to show that C. S. Lewis's famed but apparently disorganised Chronicles of Narnia have an underlying symbolic coherence, pointing to such possible unifying themes as the seven sacraments, the seven deadly sins, and the seven books of Spenser's Faerie Queene. None of these explanations has won general acceptance and the structure of Narnia's symbolism has remained a mystery. Michael Ward has finally solved the enigma. In Planet Narnia he demonstrates that medieval cosmology, a subject which fascinated Lewis throughout his life, provides the imaginative key to the seven novels. Drawing on the whole range of Lewis's writings (including previously unpublished drafts of the Chronicles), Ward reveals how the Narnia stories were designed to express the characteristics of the seven medieval planets - - Jupiter, Mars, Sol, Luna, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn - - planets which Lewis described as "spiritual symbols of permanent value" and "especially worthwhile in our own generation". Using these seven symbols, Lewis secretly constructed the Chronicles so that in each book the plot-line, the ornamental details, and, most important, the portrayal of the Christ-figure of Aslan, all serve to communicate the governing planetary personality. The cosmological theme of each Chronicle is what Lewis called 'the kappa element in romance', the atmospheric essence of a story, everywhere present but nowhere explicit. The reader inhabits this atmosphere and thus imaginatively gains connaître knowledge of the spiritual character which the tale was created to embody. Planet Narnia is a ground-breaking study that will provoke a major revaluation not only of the Chronicles, but of Lewis's whole literary and theological outlook. Ward uncovers a much subtler writer and thinker than has previously been recognized, whose central interests were hiddenness, immanence, and knowledge by acquaintance.

Book excerpt: The impact of The Late Great Planet Earth cannot be overstated. The New York Times called it the "no. 1 non-fiction bestseller of the decade." For Christians and non-Christians of the 1970s, Hal Lindsey's blockbuster served as a wake-up call on events soon to come and events already unfolding -- all leading up to the greatest event of all: the return of Jesus Christ. The years since have confirmed Lindsey's insights into what biblical prophecy says about the times we live in. Whether you're a church-going believer or someone who wouldn't darken the door of a Christian institution, the Bible has much to tell you about the imminent future of this planet. In the midst of an out-of-control generation, it reveals a grand design that's unfolding exactly according to plan. The rebirth of Israel. The threat of war in the Middle East. An increase in natural catastrophes. The revival of Satanism and witchcraft. These and other signs, foreseen by prophets from Moses to Jesus, portend the coming of an antichrist . . . of a war which will bring humanity to the brink of destruction . . . and of incredible deliverance for a desperate, dying planet.

Book excerpt: The orderliness of the universe and the existence of human beings already provides some reason for believing that there is a God - as argued in Richard Swinburne's earlier book Is There a God ? Swinburne now claims that it is probable that the main Christian doctrines about the nature of God and his actions in the world are true. In virtue of his omnipotence and perfect goodness, God must be a Trinity, live a human life in order to share our suffering, and found a church which would enable him to tell all humans about this. It is also quite probable that he would provide his human life as an atonement for our wrongdoing, teach us how we should live and tell us his plans for our future after death. Among founders of religions, Jesus satisfies uniquely well the requirement of living the sort of human life which God would need to have lived. But to give us adequate reason to believe that Jesus was God, God would need to put his 'signature' on the life of Jesus by an act which he alone could do, for example raise him from the dead. There is adequate historical evidence that Jesus rose from the dead. The church which he founded gave plausible interpretations of his basic message. Therefore Christian doctrines are probably true.

Whether you choose to believe the prophecies in these three books is entirely up to you. This three-book series is not science fiction. I wrote down, in general, the past, the future, and the present as God the Holy Spirit instructed me. All the prophecy fits together like a perfect giant puzzle, and it all makes common sense. There are no "guesswork suppositions," and His way of explanation always makes for positive commentary. Enjoy the trilogy and let your imagination work for you as to how everything works from start to never-ending. It is our choice what we wish to incorporate into our mind, will, and emotions. The universe continues to unfold.
