Book excerpt: En enero de 1992 el programa de coeducacion del ice de la universidad autonoma de barcelona se planteo el reto de diseñar, experimentar y evaluar una metodologia de cambio hacia la coeducacion en centros de primaria y secundaria. La experiencia se limito a cuatro centros de la region metropolitana de barcelona. En relacion con el ministerio de educacion y ciencia surge en 1994 el proyecto itxaso que consiste en la extension y evaluacion de esta metodologia a 20 centros de enseñanza primaria correspondientes a cuatro provincias del territorio mec: Ciudad real, leon, madrid y valladolid. En este informe se presentan los principales resultados y conclusiones de este proyecto. Asimismo el informe incluye en un anexo una evaluacion por medio de cuestionario de la aplicacion de los materiales de "conocimiento del medio. La transversalidad desde la coeducacion" en mas de 600 centros del territorio mec. El informe se estructura en cuatro grandes partes: 1) se expone el marco teorico que sirve de base para el desarrollo metodologico, 2) estrategias desarrolladas para seleccionar las escuelas que iban a participar en la experiencia. Descripcion de los centros, 3) etnografia de la experiencia. Se incluyen los instrumentos y los resultados obtenidos por los centros a lo largo del proceso de sensibilizacion, y 4) evaluacion correspondiente a la primera parte del proyecto. Se presenta por un lado la evaluacion del impacto de la experiencia sobre el alumnado y, por otro, la evaluacion del papel de los/as asesores/as de centros y del profesorado implicado en la experiencia. Las conclusiones reflejan el grado de consecucion de los objetivos de la primera fase y las expectativas y necesidades para la segunda.

La colaboracion del ministerio de eduacion y ciencia hizo posible la puesta en marcha de este proyecto conocido con el nombre de "proyecto itxaso". Esto supuso la extension y evaluacion de la metodologia desarrollada anteriormente a 20 centros de ciudad real, leon, madrid y valladolid. Los resultados de la aplicacion de la primera fase (sensibilizacion) de esta metodologia fueron desarollados en un primer informe. En este segundo se presenta la descripcion y los resultados de la segunda fase del proyecto itxaso. En esta segunda fase los centros dirigieron sus esfuerzos a la intervencion escolar y no solo al analisis de la situacion del sexismo en la escuela.
