Dans ce travail, nous nous intéressons à la qualité d'expérience des utilisateurs mobiles afin qu'ils soient toujours connectés au mieux et qu'ils puissent bénéficier des meilleurs services selon leurs préférences. Pour cela, nous avons proposé une solution qui s'appuie sur le paradigme de l’autonomique et qui s’articule autour de deux axes de recherche à savoir la gestion de la connaissance (plan de connaissance) et la gestion des traitements et de l’optimisation (plan de pilotage). Nous avons donc proposé un plan de connaissance uniquement dédié à la connaissance et à sa gestion afin de réduire sa complexité. Ce plan permettra d'introduire de nouvelles informations dans le réseau et enrichira le processus de décision du handover. Par ailleurs, une stratégie de décision basée sur la théorie de l’utilité a également été mise en œuvre pour traiter les challenges d’un problème multiobjectifs que pose la procédure de décision du handover.

Cette thèse contribue pour l’évolution de convergence dans les réseaux hétérogènes sans fil ainsi que de proposer des nouveaux mécanismes afin de permettre de délai bas pendant le « handover » au niveau de l’authentification en utilisant la sélection de réseau, l’administration de sécurité et la mobilité dans les futurs écosystèmes de télécommunications pour permettre un accès ubiquité à Internet et aussi à des services en cas de mobilité. Cet accès doit être disponible tout le temps et partout en assurant le bon niveau de sécurité pour les utilisateurs ainsi que pour les réseaux. Un objectif principal de cette thèse est de définir des mécanismes pour « seamless secured roaming » afin que les abonnés ou les utilisateurs soient capable de se promener entre différents réseaux d’accès qui implémente des technologies et des mécanismes d’accès similaires. La thèse présentée propose une solution de roaming et interopérabilité en utilisant des entités intermédiaires qu’on appelle « Roaming Interworking Intermediary (RII) ». Ces entités permettent un « handover » sûr à travers des différents systèmes d’accès et différents opérateurs sans interruption de service. RII agit comme un agent dans l'architecture RII entre le réseau d’origine et le réseau d'opérateur visité. RII permet l'administration de la mobilité, le transfert entre les fournisseurs de service, l'architecture de sécurité pour l'authentification et les associations d'utilisateurs en parcourant, aussi l’administration de réseau et de présence. Cette thèse définit, aussi, des nouveaux mécanismes qui permettent des délais bas pendant les « handovers » et « roaming » en optimisant et présentant des nouveaux modèles d’authentification et de mobilité (post hanover techniques) dans les réseaux hétérogènes. Nous avons présenté de nouvelles méthodes afin de résoudre le problème de longues périodes d'identité d'utilisateur et de routage des informations d'authentification d'utilisateur dans les réseaux d’accès visités avec ou sans SLA direct avec le réseau d’origine. Nous avons développé un modèle d’authentification dynamique en utilisant l’architecture de RII proposé, où un utilisateur ou un abonné est authentifiés au réseau de visite sans besoin de router des informations authentiques aux réseaux d’origine. Cette thèse propose aussi des nouveaux mécanismes de mobilité basés sur « Proxy IP Mobile » et étend l'infrastructure d'AAA pour obtenir des délais très bas pendant le « handover » dans les réseaux WLAN, WIMAX et 3G. Des études comparatives, entre les modèles proposés et existants, concernant l'authentification et la mobilité sont effectuées à travers des plate-forme réelles. La thèse propose aussi des techniques pré-hanover dans les réseaux hétérogènes pour garantir « seamless handover » pendant la mobilité et le « roaming ». Cette approche est une approche focalisée réseau où les réseaux d’accès contrôlent tous les procédures comme la sélection de réseau, la sécurité, la mobilité etc ... avec l'aide des terminaux mobiles et des réseaux de visite. Donc, de nouveaux modèles pour la sélection de réseau basés sur la prédiction, l'administration de sécurité pour les authentifications, et des modèles de mobilité sont proposés dans cette thèse. De nouveaux protocoles et des extensions pour le protocole existant afin d’accomplir le « seamless handover » sont proposés dans ce travail. Une plate-forme réelle et complète était construite avec l'implémentation des protocoles proposés pour évaluer l'efficacité des mécanismes proposés.

Ainsi, il est naturel d'introduire des mécanismes de gestion de mobilité basés sur IP, dont un processus de handover (passage d'une point d'accès radio à une autre point) efficace et flexible afin de garantir aux utilisateurs une qualité de service minimale de transmission des donnés. En effet, un handover inefficace génère de la latence, de la gigue et des pertes de paquets. La transmission des données est affectée et dégrade la qualité de services de l'application utilisant les services du réseau. Dans cette thèse, nous analysons les principales techniques de handover et de gestion de mobilité basée sur IP. Les résultats de cette analyse seront ensuite exploités pour présenter notre proposition de soft handover basé sur IPv6. Cette solution permettra l'extension de mobile IPv6 avec une gestion efficace, transparente et locale du multihoming. Bien sur la duplication des flux est bidirectionnel entre le réseau et le mobile et permet un changement de point d'accès au réseau sans perte de données.Nous analysons ensuite les performances de notre approche à travers des résultats de simulations.Finalement, le dernier chapitre de la thèse inclut notre expérience de l'implémentation

Nous commençons par une revue des technologies sans fil les plus couramment déployées telles que IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.16, et Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS). Ensuite, nous présentons les solutions actuellement utilisées pour gérer la mobilité des nœuds et nous discutons de leurs limites par rapport aux délais de transferts de connexion entre les réseaux et à leurs supports pour la multi-domiciliation. En se basant sur l’architecture IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover (MIH), nous analysons trois aspects majeurs de la mobilité : premièrement, nous étudions l’impact des déclencheurs de niveau 2 pour accélérer la détection de mouvement et nous fournissons des recommandations afin d’assurer la rapidité et la pertinence des déclencheurs. Deuxièmement, nous définissons plusieurs mécanismes d’optimisation comprenant un algorithme de balayage des canaux pour les réseaux IEEE 802.16 qui prend en compte les contraintes de qualité de service des applications, ainsi que l’intégration des déclencheurs de niveau 2 dans les protocoles Mobile IPv6 pour réduire les temps de transferts de connexion et les paquets perdus. Enfin, nous analysons les performances des protocoles de transport pour échanger les messages de signalisation et faciliter les transferts de connexion, et nous proposons une solution optimisée qui combine Stream Control Transport Protocol (SCTP) et MIH. Pour supporter nos activités de recherche, nous avons développé des modèles de simulation pour ns-2 comprenant IEEE 802.16, IEEE 802.21, et plusieurs versions des protocoles Mobile IPv6.

This can be disorienting and disconcerting. Because of this, many organizations devote considerable resources to limiting and clarifying the logics used for evaluating worth. But as David Stark argues, firms would often be better off, especially in managing change, if they allowed multiple logics of worth and did not necessarily discourage uncertainty. In fact, in many cases multiple orders of worth are unavoidable, so organizations and firms should learn to harness the benefits of such "heterarchy" rather than seeking to purge it. Stark makes this argument with ethnographic case studies of three companies attempting to cope with rapid change: a machine-tool company in late and postcommunist Hungary, a new-media startup in New York during and after the collapse of the Internet bubble, and a Wall Street investment bank whose trading room was destroyed on 9/11. In each case, the friction of competing criteria of worth promoted an organizational reflexivity that made it easier for the company to change and deal with market uncertainty. Drawing on John Dewey's notion that "perplexing situations" provide opportunities for innovative inquiry, Stark argues that the dissonance of diverse principles can lead to discovery.

The possibility and extent of contributions of internet research vary across disciplines, as do the purposes, methods, and outcomes. Even the epistemological underpinnings differ widely. The internet, then, does not have a discipline of study for itself: It is a ?eld for research (Baym, 2005), an open environment that simultaneously supports many approaches and techniques not otherwise commensurable with each other. There are, of course, some inhibitions that limit explorations in this ?eld: research ethics, disciplinary conventions, local and national norms, customs, laws, borders, and so on. Yet these limits on the int- net as a ?eld for research have not prevented the rapid expansion and exploration of the internet. After nearly two decades of research and scholarship, the limits are a positive contribution, providing bases for discussion and interrogation of the contexts of our research, making internet research better for all. These ‘limits,’ challenges that constrain the theoretically limitless space for internet research, create boundaries that give de?nition to the ?eld and provide us with a particular topography that enables research and investigation.
