It’s hard not to become emotionally invested in any Cooper-Posey character, but I found that especially true with Stefan and Anwen. A mighty warrior struck blind and the overlooked mouse in the corner. My heart ached for them. I absolutely love this book! We're pulled into this fantastic world by Tracy Cooper-Posey's vivid storytelling and deft handling of the personalities created within it. I can't say enough good things about Pendragon Rises or the series it's a part of! Pendragon Rises is the best novel yet of this wonderful series, The Once and Future Hearts. Once I started this one, I couldn’t put it down. Tracy puts together a wonderful story that parallels the Arthurian legends and history of that time while keeping the characters relatable and realistic. A definite read! Somehow Tracy Cooper Posey takes this very well know tale and makes it new and fascinating for us. Having always been interested in myths and legends, I have found Tracy to be meticulous in weaving known legends and historical detail into original stories that fascinate. Her characters are real, with real problems, in real situations. The scenes are so realistic that I can picture myself being part of the story. I really appreciate the list included at the beginning of the book in “Who’s Who and What’s What” which includes “Houses, Clans and Tribes”. The Maps section is also a great help and fun. If you enjoy history and romance, this book is for you! Once again, a strong tale of incredible women and their adjustments to life at Camelot. You feel the sorrow and the longing the characters have, you understand their needs and wants, disappointments, misunderstandings and desires – Tracy is quite frankly Brilliant. Tracey has an amazing ability to make you feel anxious, thrilled, hurt, relieved. You become so involved with the characters that you feel their apprehension, the what’s going to happen next? Always intriguing, this series is fascinating. So magnificently written that it makes you question the reality of Camelot. The small slice-of-life details of the everyday citizens of Camelot are what bring the tale to life and gives me the sense that I KNOW these characters. Full immersion into the life and times, is such an interesting backdrop to the action and interactions of the storyline. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a well written and immersive experience in historical times. You don't need to know the legends of Arthur to enjoy any of these books, as I started this series with only a familiarity of the main characters names' and I was completely hooked from the first book! I cannot get enough of this series! This is the legend of King Arthur like you’ve never read before. As with all of Tracy Cooper-Posey’s amazingly detailed and unique characters Tegan is a strong-willed and independent woman with secret vulnerabilities. You can’t help but fall in love with and feel compassion for these characters. Flawless world-building, witty dialogue and plotting that would make Machiavelli proud.

I never had to suspend my belief to relate to these characters, which is the highest praise I can give an author. Fantastic story!! This one kept my heart rate up! Every time I thought I could relax, there was another fast paced plot twist I absolutely adore the magnificently happy ending!! I'm not sure how she does it, but Tracy continues to make each story more exciting than the last! I can't stop reading these, even when I should be sleeping! I was fascinated by the way the author wove in so many names and places and events from both the legends and historians’ best speculations on actual happenings. Yet the story also flows along with great characters and a compelling plot. It’s one of those wonderful novels that make you feel you are really there in a foreign time and place, and you feel a little smarter when you finish. Detailed, stunning, and completing engrossing. A telling of this tale that puts you directly in the action and engaged in the struggle yourself. Absolutely brilliant!! I have loved this series from the beginning and don't understand how she keeps topping the one before. But, she did it again. Tracy writes in such a way as to make you feel like YOU are living in this time In history. This story left me breathless and speechless. It is so much more than the book blurb promises! I feel like I have actually met the characters and the scenes are set so completely that I feel that I am actually present during the action. Very few authors can write so you get completely caught up in the story but Tracy Cooper-Posey is definitely at the top of that list. Incredibly engaging story that will leave you on the edge of your seat, and flipping the pages. This is well developed and beautifully written. This Book Rocks! It is difficult to find the words that will do justice to this novel. Absolutely brilliant! Tracy Cooper Posey is a totally engaging storyteller who grabs hold of you and delivers you into the story from the first word. I feel like I have actually met the characters and the scenes are set so completely that I feel that I am actually present during the action.

What a great storyteller! I never thought that anyone could tell an Arthurian tale as well as Mary Stewart, but Tracy Cooper Posey has succeeded. I am just in awe of her ability to meld historical detail with legends and turn out a mesmerizing story. It takes me back to the magic I felt when reading Mary Stewart's stories of Merlin. Tracy Cooper-Posey has written another winner! As a long time, self proclaimed Arthurian Legend junkie I couldn't wait to dive into Tracy Cooper Posey's new series. Tracy once again proves to be a master story teller as she weaves the delicate threads of this beloved legend into her own. I also love the fact that her female characters are definitely not boring, whiny or TSTL. Tracy Cooper Posey is brilliant at weaving stories with individuals that are completely believable in their thoughts and dialogue. Ms Tracy has an amazing way of telling a tale. Such a great idea. Tracy managed to humanize these larger than life icons into a story that resonates with everyone. I think I'd like this book even if I hadn't read the others in the series. This series makes what always seemed an impossible legend and makes it a believable tale. Without a doubt, this is the best of the best of Arthurian Legends. Tracy Cooper Posey has created a living and breathing story that you don't want to put down. It is an amazing read. If you've read and loved King Arthur, you will love this story.
