Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spiritual psychology teaches that each lives in a world of individual and collective ideas that create the conditions of life. These conditions are a composite of these thoughts and beliefs. The main character of this story has beliefs that cause her to create what some might call magic. In her view her fantasies that take form are simply a result of her faith and conviction. In this tale two military powers bring their interest in conquest to an area around a small village. This village has no military, but is prosperous, peaceful, and happy. The woman who leads the village is often referred to as a sorceress, a priestess, or a queen. She has no such ideas about herself. Her legend started when, after a mystical miracle, she was appointed as head of her village council. This woman of peace named Kaori has been trained since childhood to believe in another world. This other world allows Kaori to perform the miraculous and lead her people, including her husband, who could be labeled a murderer, through a difficult period in their village. Critical to a reader's understanding of the story is not to label Kaori as a superhero. Her personal work is emphasized in the story to illustrate that anyone can gain these capabilities. Other members of the Hayshua Village demonstrate unusual abilities as well. Also of note is the graciousness of the miraculous in the writing. No one commands a miracle. They just happen because of the devotion and availability of the character. Readers may also find unbelievable how Hayshua deals with calamity, such as a murder in the village. As the story unfolds, these incidents later make sense. Could a larger society really work this way? Is vengeance purposeful? Four romances advance amid the chaos. Often there is not only struggle, but also advancement nevertheless. Animals, plants, and even nature herself become part of the seemingly complex web of this story. The boundless nature of both individuals and relationships come forth and advance, affected by the simple and seemingly meek. This writing contains a little romance, a little violence, a few miracles, and plenty of passion. And just when things seem to have slowed down, an old question is answered with pain and promise. Now Kaori must carefully deal with this matter. This magical story of conquest and peace amid chaos is also a love story-something that teaches, entertains, and frightens and something to be enjoyed. Does love do all this?

Book excerpt: There Is a Song Within You Just Waiting to be Sung. In most lives there is a moment when we need to rise through our pain, through self-doubt, fear, and mistrust, and reconnect with who we are meant to be. Fight Song recounts one acclaimed educator's journey through chaos into meaning-and shows readers how to reawaken connection with themselves and humanity. Kim Bearden is an award-winning educator whose career has spanned three decades. She has been inducted into the National Teacher's Hall of Fame, selected as a Disney American Outstanding Teacher of the Year, and honored with the Milken Family Foundation's Award for Excellence in Education. In Fight Song, Bearden recounts her personal journey from hopelessness to healing and how those steps soon coincided with her cofounding the renowned Ron Clark Academy. Over 15,000 educators visit the academy and Bearden's classroom each year to learn ways to engage students and create a climate and culture for success. In this inspiring memoir, Bearden analyzes her own path and shows readers how they, too, can strip sorrow and passivity from their lives and thrive by rediscovering their significance and genuine life mission. The revealing and often humorous anecdotes illustrate a thoughtful process that invites readers to identify their true worth through unification with others and ultimately guides them to a sense of deep purpose-a fight song. Without passion to begin with, there would be no power to work with, and no achievement to end with. Passion represents power, but power misdirected, power producing hurt instead of happiness. Its forces, while instruments of destruction in the hands of the foolish, are instruments of preservation in the hands of the wise. When curbed and concentrated and beneficially directed, they represent working energy. Passion is the flaming sword which guards the gates of Paradise. It shuts out and destroys the foolish; it admits and preserves the wise." - JAMES ALLEN - A Complete and Unabridged edition of James Allen''s book "From Passion to Peace." Book excerpt: This book is about His Passion as revealed on the Cross, His Power as revealed in the Rapture, and His Glory as revealed in His 2nd Coming. This book answers many of the questions surrounding the details and timing of these three main visitations by the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ. Questions like why is it so important to watch for His next visitation, the Rapture? If it is important, how can we watch? It lays a foundation with what exact day and hour He died, was buried, and then rose from the dead. The book includes: What is a mercy generation? What is a justice generation? How does the Tribulation fall between these two? How does the Tribulation Church in Revelation 3:3 along with the Fall Feasts point to a ten year tribulation instead of seven? And most importantly, how can the answers to all these questions help us better watch for the return of the Prince of Peace?

Book excerpt: Jay Shetty, social media superstar and host of the #1 podcast On Purpose, distills the timeless wisdom he learned as a monk into practical steps anyone can take every day to live a less anxious, more meaningful life. When you think like a monk, you’ll understand: -How to overcome negativity -How to stop overthinking -Why comparison kills love -How to use your fear -Why you can’t find happiness by looking for it -How to learn from everyone you meet -Why you are not your thoughts -How to find your purpose -Why kindness is crucial to success -And much more... Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others. Heavily in debt, and with no recognizable skills on his résumé, he moved back home in north London with his parents. Shetty reconnected with old school friends—many working for some of the world’s largest corporations—who were experiencing tremendous stress, pressure, and unhappiness, and they invited Shetty to coach them on well-being, purpose, and mindfulness. Since then, Shetty has become one of the world’s most popular influencers. In 2017, he was named in the Forbes magazine 30-under-30 for being a game-changer in the world of media. In 2018, he had the #1 video on Facebook with over 360 million views. His social media following totals over 38 million, he has produced over 400 viral videos which have amassed more than 8 billion views, and his podcast, On Purpose, is consistently ranked the world’s #1 Health and Wellness podcast. In this inspiring, empowering book, Shetty draws on his time as a monk to show us how we can clear the roadblocks to our potential and power. Combining ancient wisdom and his own rich experiences in the ashram, Think Like a Monk reveals how to overcome negative thoughts and habits, and access the calm and purpose that lie within all of us. He transforms abstract lessons into advice and exercises we can all apply to reduce stress, improve relationships, and give the gifts we find in ourselves to the world. Shetty proves that everyone can—and should—think like a monk.

Book excerpt: A Bible study about sex for women? Now that’s different! This new study, Passion Pursuit: What Kind of Love Are You Making?, lets God’s Word speak about sex as being holy and erotic, blessed by God, and satisfying far beyond what the world can even imagine. Picture that as a headline on the cover of Cosmopolitan! By using scripture throughout the Bible, Passion Pursuit not only urges women to pursue passion but details how God has given them permission to do so. Though there is fun to be had along the way in this study, it hits hard on the questions women have but are hesitant to ask, like: What does God say is okay and not okay in the bedroom? I’m 54 years old; how can my husband still be attracted to me? Why did God make men and women so different? This audaciously bold study combines the psychological expertise of Dr Juli Slattery, formerly of Focus on the Family, along with moving stories from trusted Bible teacher and best-selling author Linda Dillow. The groups who have already done this study have seen their marriages come alive, whether they’ve been married four months or forty years; be next!

Book excerpt: Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross: Experiencing the Passion and Power of Easter From architecture to jewelry, the symbol of the cross is commonplace in our society. But how many of us truly appreciate the depth of meaning behind it? This collection of readings edited by Nancy Guthrie draws from the writings and sermons of twenty-five classic and contemporary theologians such as Martin Luther, Charles Spurgeon, John Piper, and Joni Eareckson Tada, inviting us to focus on the wonder of Christ's sacrifice.
