This book was released on 2014-07-24 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers readers a set of new approaches and tools a set of tools and techniques for facing challenges in parallelization with design of embedded systems. It provides an advanced parallel simulation infrastructure for efficient and effective system-level model validation and development so as to build better products in less time. Since parallel discrete event simulation (PDES) has the potential to exploit the underlying parallel computational capability in today’s multi-core simulation hosts, the author begins by reviewing the parallelization of discrete event simulation, identifying problems and solutions. She then describes out-of-order parallel discrete event simulation (OoO PDES), a novel approach for efficient validation of system-level designs by aggressively exploiting the parallel capabilities of todays’ multi-core PCs. This approach enables readers to design simulators that can fully exploit the parallel processing capability of the multi-core system to achieve fast speed simulation, without loss of simulation and timing accuracy. Based on this parallel simulation infrastructure, the author further describes automatic approaches that help the designer quickly to narrow down the debugging targets in faulty ESL models with parallelism.
Book Synopsis Advanced Circuit Simulation using Multisim Workbench by : David Baez-Lopez
Download or read book Advanced Circuit Simulation using Multisim Workbench written by David Baez-Lopez and published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multisim is now the de facto standard for circuit simulation. It is a SPICE-based circuit simulator which combines analog, discrete-time, and mixed-mode circuits. In addition, it is the only simulator which incorporates microcontroller simulation in the same environment. It also includes a tool for printed circuit board design. Advanced Circuit Simulation Using Multisim Workbench is a companion book to Circuit Analysis Using Multisim, published by Morgan & Claypool in 2011. This new book covers advanced analyses and the creation of models and subcircuits. It also includes coverage of transmission lines, the special elements which are used to connect components in PCBs and integrated circuits. Finally, it includes a description of Ultiboard, the tool for PCB creation from a circuit description in Multisim. Both books completely cover most of the important features available for a successful circuit simulation with Multisim. Table of Contents: Models and Subcircuits / Transmission Lines / Other Types of Analyses / Simulating Microcontrollers / PCB Design With Ultiboard

This book was released on 2018-06-28 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The parallel approach to speeding up simulation is studied, specifically the simulation of digital LSI MOS circuitry on the Intel iPSC/2 hypercube. The simulation algorithm is based on RSIM, an event driven switch-level simulator that incorporates a linear transistor model for simulating digital MOS circuits. Parallel processing techniques based on the concepts of Virtual Time and rollback are utilized so that portions of the circuit may be simulated on separate processors, in parallel for as large an increase in speed as possible. A partitioning algorithm is also developed in order to subdivide the circuit for parallel processing. Rao, Hariprasad Nannapaneni Unspecified Center NAG1-613...

Download or read book VLSI 93 written by Takayuki Yanagawa and published by North Holland. This book was released on 1994 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) results from the optimum integration of a broad range of technologies and disciplines, including architectures, software, circuits and semiconductor physics. VLSI is fundamentally interdisciplinary in nature and this will become increasingly so in the future as the requirements for greater complexity and performance grow. With the general tendency for specialisation of human skills, the goal of encompassing all the knowledge necessary to make such progress is indeed challenging. This volume provides a broad ranging interdisciplinary exploration of VLSI by specialists and aims to stimulate further research in this exciting area.

Download or read book A Multidimensional Study on Parallel Switch-level Circuit Simulation written by Yu-an Chen and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: "Circuit Simulation is a critical bottleneck in VLSI design. This paper describes a parallel switch-level simulator, MIRSIM, for VLSI circuits and presents the results of an experimental study to evaluate the effectiveness of multiple synchronization protocols and partitioning algorithms in reducing the simulation time of VLSI circuits. Specific contributions of this paper include: (i) parallelizing an existing switch-level simulator such that the model can be executed using sequential, conservative, and optimistic simulation protocols with minor enhancements for efficiency; (ii) evaluating effectiveness of manual and automatic partitioning algorithms for parallel circuit simulation; and (iii) comparative performance evaluation of MIRSIM with three conservative and one optimistic simulation protocols for seven circuits, ranging in size from 3K transistors to about 87K transistors."
