Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tin in Organic Synthesis is a systematic presentation of the organic chemistry of tin. This book discusses the significant advances that have been made with regard to the applications of organotin compounds as reagents or intermediates in organic synthesis and points out directions for future developments. This monograph is comprised of 17 chapters divided into four sections. Following a brief introduction to organotin chemistry, the production of the organotin reagents, which are most usually employed in organic synthesis, is described. Special emphasis is placed on the creation of a fresh tin-carbon bond, a preliminary step in numerous fruitful applications. The following chapters are devoted to synthetic applications involving tin-hydrogen, tin-carbon, and tin-heteroatom bonds. The reduction of organic halides, carbonyl compounds, thio, nitrogen compounds, unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds, and seleno and telluro compounds is considered. The discussion then turns to electrophilic cleavages of tin-carbon bonds, which are of possible interest in organic synthesis, along with transmetallation and metallation of organotin compounds. The creation of new carbon-carbon bonds through substitution, addition, or elimination reactions is also examined. The remaining chapters focus on organotin alkoxides, organotin enolates, organotin oxides and peroxides, and organotin esters. This book will be of interest to students and researchers in the field of organic chemistry.

Book excerpt: Tin chemistry retains a place in contemporary science as an important element owing to its wide range of applications. New and exciting research is being generated on an annual basis from all parts of the world – the study of tin and its compounds attracts considerable interest from a range of perspectives such as organic synthesis, medicine, materials chemistry, catalysis and environment. Tin Chemistry – Fundamentals, Frontiers and Applications collects, in one comprehensive volume, authoritative and concise snapshots of modern tin chemistry in a full range of applications. Over forty of the leading tin chemistry experts have contributed reviews in six themes: fundamentals in tin chemistry materials chemistry and structural chemistry of tin compounds medicinal and biocidal applications of tin compounds tin in the environment tin in organic synthesis tin in catalysis Tin Chemistry – Fundamentals, Frontiers and Applications is an essential overview of modern perspectives on this important element for the specialist and non-specialist alike. It will promote cross-disciplinary interactions and at the same time be an essential teaching resource for advanced university classes.
Book Synopsis Organometallic Chemistry by : E. W. Abel
Download or read book Organometallic Chemistry written by E. W. Abel and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 1983 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organometallic chemistry is an interdisciplinary science which continues to grow at a rapid pace. Although there is continued interest in synthetic and structural studies the last decade has seen a growing interest in the potential of organometallic chemistry to provide answers to problems in catalysis synthetic organic chemistry and also in the development of new materials. This Specialist Periodical Report aims to reflect these current interests reviewing progress in theoretical organometallic chemistry, main group chemistry, the lanthanides and all aspects of transition metal chemistry. Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The Annual Reports themselves still existed but were divided into two, and subsequently three, volumes covering Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. For more general coverage of the highlights in chemistry they remain a 'must'. Since that time the SPR series has altered according to the fluctuating degree of activity in various fields of chemistry. Some titles have remained unchanged, while others have altered their emphasis along with their titles; some have been combined under a new name whereas others have had to be discontinued. The current list of Specialist Periodical Reports can be seen on the inside flap of this volume.
Book Synopsis Compounds with Bonds between Tin and Transition Metals of Groups VIII, I, and II by : Herbert Schumann
Download or read book Compounds with Bonds between Tin and Transition Metals of Groups VIII, I, and II written by Herbert Schumann and published by Springer. This book was released on 1995 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Part 22 concludes the description of mononuclear organotin compounds containing bonds between tin and a transition metal. The Group-VIII compounds occupy the largest portion of this volume and are subdivided into the subgroups of iron, cobalt, and nickel. The molecular structure of many of these compounds has been elucidated in addition to the standard spectroscopic methods. Compounds of copper, silver, and gold, although virtually unknown, are included in the present volume, since several organotin cuprates have been prepared intermediately and used in situ as regio- and stereoselective reagents in organic chemistry.

Book Synopsis Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry II, Volume 14 by : Edward W. Abel
Download or read book Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry II, Volume 14 written by Edward W. Abel and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2002-09-10 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the publication Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry in 1982, studies on the chemistry of molecules with carbon-metal bonds have continued to expand rapidly. This is due to many factors, ranging from the sheer intellectual challenge and excitement provided by the continuing production of novel results, which demand new ideas, through to the successful application of organometallic species in organic syntheses, the generation of living catalysts for polymerization, and the synthesis of precursors for materials employed in the electronic and ceramic industries. These factors led to the publication of the updated Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry II. The original work serves as a basis for new volumes, focusing on organometallic chemistry reported since 1982, with reference back to the original work when necessary. For ease of use the new volumes maintain the same general structure as employed previously but reflect the changes in substance and direction the field has undergone in the last ten years. This book will serve as a pivotal reference point for new work and will function to generate new ideas and perceptions for the continued advance of what will surely continue as a vibrant area of chemistry.
