About the author Dr. Mignone attended Amherst College, cum laude, and Duke Medical School, Alpha Omega Alpha. Then followed internal medicine internship at Yale; neurology residencies at Cornell-New York Hospital and the N.I.H.; and psychiatric residency/chief residency, Mass. General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He relocated to Southwest Florida in 1990 to establish a multi-specialty mental health group with a mind/body/spirit perspective. His interests include--besides general psychiatry--forensics, stress medicine, adjustment counseling, medical ethics, spirituality and medicine, and care of advanced medical illness. He is an Ordained minister. He is a physician broadcaster. Again in 2010, for the seventh consecutive year, Dr. Mignone was selected as Top Psychiatrist in Southwest Florida by Castle Connolly research group using peer preferences, curriculum vita, experience, and community profile. The distinction appeared each year in their annual national publication of top specialists--as well as in Sarasota Magazine's annual issue of Top Docs.
