Book excerpt: From 50 yards and in, no golfer in history has demonstrated more talent, flair, creativity and precision, or generated more raw excitement, than Phil Mickelson. His ability with the sand wedge and putter are legendary not only among fans but his peers as well, and it is his skill with those clubs that is primarily responsible for his winning 34 tournaments on the PGA Tour, including three major championships. In his first-ever instruction book, Mickelson explains in detail how to master every phase of the short game. Mickelson maintains that any golfer of average ability can become a deadly short-game player by approaching the subject with a blend of science (proper mechanics and setup) and art (imagination and feel). Mickelson does a fine job explaining both; combining the wisdom of his great teachers with his own fertile imagination, cultivated from 34 years of experimentation, trial and error. No golfer can afford to miss out on Mickelson′s secrets and tips.

Whether you suffer from sloppy setup, tight grip, pushing, pulling, or "the yips," The Putting Prescription will cure what ails you! "I have worked with Craig over the years and have used and applied his prescriptions and drills myself. I particularly love the string and needles drill. However, I enthusiastically refer my players to Dr. Farnsworth." -Dr. Gary Brown, Golf Performance Specialist, Intelligent Golf "I have utilized Doctor Farnsworth's information in my instructional programs since meeting Doc in 1998. His knowledge has transformed my teaching and my own game, allowing me to be the Michigan PGA Teacher and Player of the Year in 2005. Following the Doc's prescriptions will help transform everyone's putting!" -John L. Dal Corobbo, Director of Instruction, The Training Academy at Prairie View

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did you ever wonder why your golf scores never improve much even after many years of experience? And, did you know putting contributes about 40% to your total score, making putting the single most important part of your golf game? Do you want to improve? Then, this book is a MUST read! Golfers need to understand and come to grips with the harsh realities putting places on them as well as the many factors that impact putting success, many more mental than physical; therefore, this book leaves the fundamentals of putting stroke to others. To assist golfers, or golfer "wannabes", the author utilizes his 30 years' experience in sport performance enhancement and 60 years of playing golf to provide a framework that will lead to increased putting performance IF you will follow some of book's suggestions. The book is written in a conversational style, with the intent of having the reader interact with material presented - responding to questions, agreeing or disagreeing with a certain perspective, and perhaps searching your conscience for the "why's" and "why not's". Innumerable drills and strategies are offered, both to improve the physical and mental sides of the golf game. Insights into how and what to practice, based on proven approaches, are emphasized to counter the haphazard way most golfers typically practice. Putting really is a head game. I certainly enjoyed reading your book. You have brought every act of putting to the surface. FINALLY a putting book that doesn't talk about the stroke the whole time. I truly believe the best formula for making putts is to roll the ball on the correct line at the correct speed. Of the two elements speed is the most important. The other tangibles that go with it are to read greens correctly and to have confidence in your stroke and read. You seem to have touched on each one of the topics in depth. The object of putting is to putt the ball in the hole NOT to move the putter in a certain direction or a certain way. The added humor was a nice touch. Good luck with the publishing of the book and sign me up for a finished copy. Nice job. Michael B. Krick, Head Golf Professional Carolina Trace Country Club Sanford, North Carolina

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of a journey to Southern California, home of the American Dream, in search of fame and fortune. An Australian couple of mixed German-Chinese origin with their six-year old son Maximilian leave their settled life in Sydney to move to California. The boy's Mandarin name is Xiaolong, meaning Little Dragon, and the dream of his mother is that he will one day become the number one golf player in the world. She has contacted Tiger Woods' first professional coach who is supposed to take the boy under his wings, and she is determined to make her dream come true. The book follows Maximilian's exposure to playing junior gold, the highlights and pitfalls along with the emotional ups and downs of children involved in competitive sport, and their parents' sometimes conflicting and contradictory expectations, culminating in an account of Maximilian competing at the Junior World Championship in San Diego. But 'The Dragon Mother's Dream' is more than a book about golf. Part travelogue and part parenting memoir, it is a journal about living in one of the most privileged places in California. It documents the everyday realities and idiosyncracies of the contemporary American way of life, recorded with great precision and attention to detail by an Australian writer of European roots and - sometimes satirical, often ironic - sensibilities. At the end of the book, the mother's dream takes an unexpected twist.
