Book excerpt: Hippolytus of Rome was not a Roman, but a father of the Church of Greek origin that sojourned there long enough to associate his name to the western capital of Christendom. He lived between 170 and 236 AD. This gives special authority and meaning to his writings along with the fact that he was a disciple of Irenaeus of Lyon, who in turn was a disciple of Polycarp. The latter, as it is well known to the students of early Christian writers, knew the apostle John in person. The three works I present here are particularly significant to me. They were of great help and personal edification during my studies on Bible prophecies and on the Deity of Christ.I am sure they will be a blessing to those who will read them too.Giuseppe Guarino17th October, 2020

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hippolytus of Rome (170–235) was the most important 3rd-century theologian in the Christian Church in Rome, where he was probably born. Photios I of Constantinople describes him in his Bibliotheca (cod. 121) as a disciple of Irenaeus, who was said to be a disciple of Polycarp, and from the context of this passage it is supposed that he suggested that Hippolytus himself so styled himself. However, this assertion is doubtful. He came into conflict with the popes of his time and seems to have headed a schismatic group as a rival Bishop of Rome. For that reason he is sometimes considered the first antipope. He opposed the Roman bishops who softened the penitential system to accommodate the large number of new pagan converts. However, he was very probably reconciled to the Church when he died as a martyr. Starting in the 4th century, various legends arose about him, identifying him as a priest of the Novatianist schism or as a soldier converted by Saint Lawrence. He has also been confused with another martyr of the same name. Ironically, it is Pius IV who identifies him as "Saint Hippolytus, Bishop of Pontus" who was martyred in the reign of Alexander Severus through his inscription on a statue found at the Church of St. Lawrence in Rome and kept at the Vatican as photographed and published in Brunsen.

Pastor Robert Johnson has sought to inform the reader on a biblical level, which is what matters most. He has brought together the scriptures from various passages in the Bible and place them in context to give those who desire a better understanding of the mystery of the anti-christ, his going forth upon the earth and his end. In this book, Robert Johnson goes to great length to employ sound hermeneutics and exercises great care to exegete the scriptures properly. As Robert mentions, this book will offend some, but for those who are truly seeking a better understanding of this "mystery" found in God's Word it is an enlightening and in-depth study of the "mystery of Iniquity." If there is one book of prophecy you read this year let it be this one. I strongly encourage Christians and serious students of the Bible to read it. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The history of Christendom has caused some to cast serious doubt about Christianity. By Christendom scholars generally refer to the realm of sectarian activity dominated by religions that claim to be Christian. Christianity refers to the original form of worship and access to God taught by Jesus Christ. With her wars, inquisitions, crusades and religious hypocrisy, the history of Christendom has not helped the cause of Christianity. Devout Muslims and others point to the moral corruption and decadence of the Western Christian world as a basis of rejecting Christianity. Having lost their moral rudder, most, if not all Christian nations have suffered shipwreck on the rocks of faithlessness, greed and self-indulgence. At the inception of Christianity, two ways were available to those espousing what was then an unpopular faith hold to the uncompromising teachings and principles of Christ and the Scriptures or oscillate towards the wide and easy-going path of compromise with the world at the time. Its history of first 400 years shows that the majority choose the later. And this suggests that the decadence started many years ago but only reached unprecedented level in our contemporary times.

Book excerpt: Antichrist is a book that traces the doctrine of the Antichrist from the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation, and shows definitively (I think) how the world is naturally divided into just two groups – those who consciously or otherwise follow the Antichrist (which is essentially a spirit of humanism), and those who follow the Spirit of Christ. This topic perpetually fascinates (and scares) people but is usually taught quite badly. In fact, understanding this doctrine properly helps one to understand history as a whole. Ancient patterns of conflict between Israel and other nations will continue to the end, until a Muslim (UN backed) invasion of Israel will usher in the final political Antichrist, followed by a final global push to exterminate deism. Antichrist is not just the “Man of Sin”, but is fundamentally a spirit that rules the mind of Man. Christ and Antichrist exist in every person, and a person is called to choose his allegiance. I think this book, by setting Christ against Antichrist, deism versus humanism, faith in divine revelation versus faith in human logic, makes one of the clearest explanations of the Christian faith that one will be able to find. Indeed, escape from Antichrist is ultimately escape from ones sinful self.

Book excerpt: Hippolytus of Rome (170 - 235 AD) wrote this treatise on the Antichrist and the end times during the early period of the Christian church, before it was an established religion. Evidence suggests that Hippolytus was a priest in Rome, although Eusebius of Caesarea and St. Jerome did not give a definite role for him in the wider church. Photios I of Constantinople names him as a disciple of Irenaeus, however many say that he was an antipope for the bishop of Rome, caught up in the debate about whether to receive back into the church those who had fallen away. He is most famous for his writings which had a great influence on the early church. The text for this work is taken from "Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. 5. Edited by Alexander Roberts, James Donaldson, and A. Cleveland Coxe. (Buffalo, NY: Christian Literature Publishing Co., 1886), translated by JH. MacMahon (1829-1900)." The footnotes and Bible references have been preserved and illustrations have been added of the Antichrist and figures from the book of Revelation.

Book excerpt: The doctrine of the Antichrist is one of the most interesting doctrines found in Scripture, says author Kim Riddlebarger. Unfortunately, it's also one which has been subject to far more speculation than sound biblical exegesis. Until now. Unlike other resources available on the Antichrist, The Man of Sin focuses on Scripture, not contemporary events, to uncover the truth about this mysterious entity. With skilled exegesis Riddlebarger asserts that, contrary to popular speculation, the Antichrist is not a singular individual but a series of beings that will arise to challenge Christ throughout the inter-advental age before culminating in an end-times Antichrist. Backing this claim first in Scripture, Riddlebarger also draws from historical teachings including those of the church fathers, the Reformation, and historic Protestantism, before contrasting this evidence to the sensational interpretations of many contemporary writers. Pastors, teachers, and study groups wanting to understand the doctrine of the Antichrist will find The Man of Sin to be a unique and comprehensive study.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To the Church who are anxious and in a hurry to see the Kingdom of God come forth. Because we know that the word of God is against sin and iniquity, we feel that it is our duty to deal with it. And Politicians have tricked the Body of Christ by superimposing themselves as if they can get rid of sin and iniquity by imposing laws for or against it. Also putting individuality over government. Most of the Body of Christ are not aware that this is considered to be rebellion against God’s authority to change and deal with sin and iniquity. Further God instituted right government for the health, help, happiness, well-being, and prosperity of his people. Politics, companies and individuals and states’ rights to do what they want; this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ and the anger, hatred, ill speaking etc. are the Marks of the Beast, and the Church have fallen a victim unaware. My Prayer is that the True Body of Christ turn and go back to the Hebrew word step by step and find exactly how we as God’s Disciples are to respond to all causes. Some of the time he tells us to shut our mouth don’t say a word, that is how we respond. Sometimes he calls for us to separate ourselves from this kind of belief and behavior.

Adding fuel to the flame of rampant speculation are voices saying the Antichrist might be a Muslim or a Jew—a view that respected Bible scholar and bestselling author Ron Rhodes argues against in this revealing, Scripture-based exploration of: what God's Word does and does not tell us about the Antichrist the advance signs, power moves, and eventual fall of this person the mysterious "Gog"—leader of Northern military coalition mentioned in Ezekiel It is time for a trustworthy study of this topic to take the place of emotion-based suspicions. Believers, followers of end-times news, and anyone anxiously watching the turmoil of today's political landscape will be thankful for this thorough, straightforward resource. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The following demonstration is rested on no narrow basis. Its two postulates, like two posterns, admit us into the edifice, but they are not its foundations. The whole economy of Redemption, and the whole course of History are the broad substructions on which the argument is based and built up; and the author humbly submits that it cannot be overturned, or the conclusion arrived at set aside, without dislocating and shaking the structure of both Revelation and providence. The same line of proof which establishes that Christ is the promised Messiah, conversely applied, establishes that the Roman system is the predicted Apostacy. In the life of Christ we behold the converse of what the Antichrist must be; and in the prophecy of the Antichrist we are shown the converse of what Christ must be, and was. And when we place the Papacy between the two, and compare it with each, we find, on the one hand, that it is the perfect converse of Christ as seen in His life; and, on the other, that it is the perfect image of the Antichrist, as shown in the prophecy if him. We conclude, therefore, that if Jesus of Nazareth be the Christ, the Roman Papacy is the Antichrist.
