La traduzione e l'impostazione complessiva del presente lavoro sono originali, mentre per il commento e le note ho utilizzato in larga misura i due fondamentali commentari di W. Leaf e G. S. Kirk, che ho parzialmente tradotto e variamente integrato tra di loro e con altre fonti. Le note sono principalmente focalizzate sul lessico e sulla grammatica.
