Download or read book Nitrogen NMR written by M. Witanowski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To date nitrogen NMR has been discussed in research papers and review articles throughout the scientific literature. It has been our aim in preparing this book to provide a comprehen sive account of the widely spread applications of nitrogen NMR. The relevant literature has been surveyed from the beginnings of NMR until early 1972. The steady annual growth in the number of references cited since 1965 is ample evidence of the ever increasing importance of the subject. Sufficient theoretical and experimental background is given for an understanding of the applications dealt with in later chapters. The basic principles of NMR are developed with a theoretical approach to chemical shifts and spin-spin coupling constants, particular emphasis being given to nitrogen nuclei. Following this the experimental aspects of nitrogen NMR are adequately described. Special emphasis is given to the observable effects of the nuclear quadrupole moment of the 14 N nucleus. It is appro priate that this topic be dealt with in depth since quadrupolar interactions frequently dominate the information available from a study of the 14 N nucleus and other nuclei spin coupled to it. The applications of nitrogen chemical shift data to organic and inorganic molecules are covered in two extensive chapters which include the effects of paramagnetism on nitrogen NMR.

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 552 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The field of nuclear magnetic resonance has experienced a number of spectacular developments during the last decade. Fourier transform methodology revolutionized signal acquisition capabilities. Superconducting magnets enhanced sensitivity and produced considerable improvement in spectral dispersion. In areas of new applicat ions, the life sciences particularly bene fited from these developments and probably saw the largest increase in usage. NMR imaging promises to offer a noninvasive alternative to X rays. High resolution is now achievable with solids, through magic angle spinning and cross polarization, so that the powers of NMR are applicable to previously intractable materials such as polymers, coal, and other geochemicals. The ease of obtaining relaxation times brought an important fourth variable, after the chemical shift, the coupling constant, and the rate constant, to the examination of structural and kinetic problems i~ all fields. Software development, particularly in the area of pulse sequences, created a host of useful tech niques, including difference decoupling and difference nuclear Overhauser effect spectra, multidimensional displays, signal enhancement (INEPT), coupling constant analysis for connectivity (INADEQUATE), and observation of specific structural classes such as only quaternary carbons. Finally, hardware development gave us access to the entire Periodic Table, to the particular advan tage of the inorganic and organometallic chemist. At the NATO Advanced Study Institute at Stirling, Scotland, the participants endeavored to examine all these advances, except imaging, from a multidisciplinary point of view.

Download or read book Nuclei Zr ... Bi. Diagrams, Structure formulas, Indexes written by H. Chihara and published by Springer. This book was released on 1988-12-29 with total page 802 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume III/20 of the New Series is concerned with the experimental results of nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy, a standard method of structural research, applied to solid substances. The results are important for molecular and solid state physics as well as for different branches of chemistry. Because of the large amount of data, volume III/20 had to be divided into three subvolumes, III/20a,b,c, the first two of which have appeared already. Subvolume III/20c which completes the volume, is presented herewith. The main contents of the volume are data on nuclear quadrupole resonance frequency, quadrupole coupling constant, asymmetry parameter, experimental method and temperature. The tables are accompanied by structure formulas and by graphs which show the dependence of frequencies and other properties on external parameters. The formulas and the graphs are compiled in the present subvolume c. For the user's convenience, special indexes of (a) gross molecular formulas, (b) chemical substance names, and (c) CAS Registry Numbers of all substances considered are added at the end of this subvolume.

Book Synopsis Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance Spectroscopy Data by : H. Chihara
Download or read book Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance Spectroscopy Data written by H. Chihara and published by Springer. This book was released on 1997-11-25 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume III/39 continues the compilation of nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy data of solid substances which started in with volumes III/20 and III/31. The literature from the beginning of nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy in 1951 to 1996 is covered. Included are the data for substances studied for the first time, as well as data for substances already present in the previous volumes if the data published there could be completed or improved by new studies. In total there are more than 10.000 substances in the volumes, showing the scope and significance of nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy up to recent times. A few, minor modifications are explained in the introduction (chapter 1). Volume III/39 can be consulted without recourse to its predecessor because the complete introduction and general tables are repeated from III/20 and III/31.
