The chapters review and present coherent and scientifically sound information and case studies on the ecologically sustainable use of NTFPs. They also outline a general interdisciplinary approach for assessing the sustainability of NTFP harvesting systems at different scales. Numerous industry-based NTFPs are now being exported in considerable quantities by developing countries. Accordingly, this sector facilitates employment opportunities in remote rural areas. So, these developments also highlight the role of NTFPs in poverty alleviation in different regions of the world. The study was based on the cross-sectional descriptive and exploratory research design. Data was collected from 466 respondents of Dolpa, Salyan and Banke districts of Nepal. Mixed method was adopted to collect the data. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the respondents. Structured questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews were done to collect the quantitative and qualitative data. Statistical models like cross-tabulation, Chi-Square test and ANOVA were used for data analysis.
