They became an inspiration to other Civil Rights advocates and their historic sit-in protest sit-in inspired the Jail, No Bail movement. The Frienship 9 were Robert McCullough, John Gaines, Thomas Gaither, Clarence Graham, S.T. "Dub" Massey, Willie McCleod, James Wells, David Williamson, Jr., and Mark Workman.
