With all this idle talk that we sometimes hear about driving men from the Church by preaching the truth, either religious or political, he has no sympathy whatever. It is neither manly nor christian. As a hearer I would not be driven by the preacher; and certainly, as a preacher, I will not be driven as to what I must or must not say, by the people.
