Book Synopsis The Mystery Water Creatures of British Columbia by : Bradyn Harrison
Download or read book The Mystery Water Creatures of British Columbia written by Bradyn Harrison and published by BookRix. This book was released on 2023-10-05 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: British Columbia, the western-most province of Canada, is known nationally & globally for its natural beauty, picturesque mountain scapes, coastal scenery, near endless miles of shoreline, inlets and fjords. Each year, the province draws massive numbers of tourists from both Canada and the United States to enjoy its ecological splendor during the height of summer. But it is also the domain of over 20, 000 deep, glacially made lakes and the vast oceanic depths which continue to hold many surprises. And, over forty of those ancient bodies of freshwater are said to contain something else within them, swimming beneath their surfaces, only ever breaking placid waters occasionally to a lucky few fortunate enough to be in the right place and the right time. From Okanagan Lake to Harrison Lake to Cameron Lake on Vancouver Island, Kootenay Lake in the Rocky Mountains and the province’s coastal waters, sightings of large, unidentified aquatic creatures have been reported for countless centuries, and for some they continue to be reported by unsuspecting yet honest eyewitnesses. This thorough research guide and part-field book will provide a thorough look at this phenomenon by investigating sightings from each British Columbian Lake and the provincial coastlines from the oldest to most recent. Appearing for the first time are newly discovered or forgotten reports that have never been read in book form, along with obscure water creatures in their pages. Whether you are fascinated by watery mysteries, Cryptozoology, lesser-known regional trivia or plain curious about British Columbia’s natural wonders, The Mystery Creatures of British Columbia is an excellent primer for those wanting to dive deep into the western-most province's mysteries of the deep.
Book Synopsis BEAU GESTE: The Mystery of the "Blue Water" & Major Henri de Beaujolais' Story (Adventure Classic) by : P. C. Wren
Download or read book BEAU GESTE: The Mystery of the "Blue Water" & Major Henri de Beaujolais' Story (Adventure Classic) written by P. C. Wren and published by e-artnow. This book was released on 2015-09-11 with total page 449 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This carefully crafted ebook: "BEAU GESTE: The Mystery of the "Blue Water" & Major Henri de Beaujolais' Story (Adventure Classic)" is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. Michael "Beau" Geste is the protagonist. The main narrator (among others), by contrast, is his younger brother John. The three Geste brothers are a metaphor for the British upper class values of a time gone by, and "the decent thing to do" is, in fact, the leitmotif of the novel. The Geste brothers are orphans and have been brought up by their aunt at Brandon Abbas. When a precious jewel known as the "Blue Water" goes missing, suspicion falls on the young people, and Beau leaves Britain to join the French Foreign Legion, followed by his brothers, Digby (his twin) and John. There, after some adventure and separation from Digby, the sadistic Sergeant Major Lejaune gets command of the little garrison at Fort Zinderneuf in French North Africa, and only an attack by Tuaregs prevents a mutiny and mass desertion. Percival Christopher Wren (1875-1941) was an English writer, mostly of adventure fiction. He is remembered best for Beau Geste, a much-filmed book of 1924, involving the French Foreign Legion in North Africa. This was one of 33 novels and short story collections that he wrote, mostly dealing with colonial soldiering in Africa. While his fictional accounts of life in the pre-1914 Foreign Legion are highly romanticized, his details of Legion uniforms, training, equipment and barrack room layout are generally accurate, which has led to unproven suggestions that Wren himself served with the legion.
Book Synopsis The Mystery of Water by : Johanna Blomqvist
Download or read book The Mystery of Water written by Johanna Blomqvist and published by Mindstream Publishing. This book was released on 2024-10-31 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: FIND OUT THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS AND MORE: How can a jellyfish, which is almost entirely water and has neither a heart nor a brain, be a living and consciously responsive being? What kind of water is best for our well-being? Why cold water swimming is so good for us? Can water be influenced by thoughts and emotions? Does water remember? What do we really know about water? Could solving the mystery of water also help us understand ourselves? In an unprecedented way, Johanna Blomqvist dives into the mystery of water in her book, approaching water through science, physics, and the latest research, as well as from an experiential perspective. What follows is not only an interesting journey into the history and essence of water but also a highly personal dive into the various ways water influences us during our lifetimes and even through generations. Water is a simple molecule, yet we do not fully understand it. It has many strange and exceptional properties that have yet to be explained. Even the structure of water has yielded surprising results in recent studies. It appears there might be two types of water. The structure of water can begin to mimic the molecules with which it has been in contact, bringing about their effects. Even emotions seem to have a connection to water. Water increasingly appears as a state of being between the material and immaterial worlds. Water is a mystery that we need to solve to understand ourselves — after all, we are over 70% water. Water symbolizes vitality, renewal, creativity, and change. Water is fundamental and sacred. Water is the beginning and the end — from it we are born, and often it has also been the fate of our civilizations, in the form of a flood or other upheaval. "I feel that water is now my teacher, and my task is to discover who I really am and what my deepest essence is. Looking deeply is also a form of surrender. When one dares to surrender and let go, a path unfolds, becoming increasingly clear." The Mystery of Water makes you see water in a new way. You will find a new connection to water — to our deepest essence. Water may contain fundamental answers to our life, existence, and also our future.

Rescuing Rosa, he discovers her captor mistook David for John and struck the former down instead. But Ellery has more work to do when Rosa’s shady sweetheart is found stone dead and stark naked . . . aside from a black fedora and a theatrical-looking opera cloak. There are plenty of guests and members of the household who might have wanted John dead, but who did it—and what in the world happened to the victim’s clothes?
