Book excerpt: Cutting-edge thinkers on the origins of civilization, the Giza pyramids, pre-Columbian and early America, and the power of human consciousness • With contributions by David Frawley, Geoff Stray, Joscelyn Godwin, Daniel Pinchbeck, Antoine Gigal, and others • Topics range from the origins of the Inca to the architecture of the Giza plateau to unified theories of physics and consciousness • Companion volume to Lost Knowledge of the Ancients As we pull back the curtain from the European version of history, we discover the vast depth of knowledge of our ancient ancestors--knowledge that not only dispels our image of them as primitive peoples but also corresponds with the forefront of modern science, philosophy, and spirituality. With contributions by David Frawley, Geoff Stray, Joscelyn Godwin, Daniel Pinchbeck, Antoine Gigal, and other provocative, cutting-edge thinkers, this collection of essays commissioned by Graham Hancock, bestselling author of Fingerprints of the Gods, represents the latest, often controversial findings in alternative science, history, archaeology, and consciousness research. Covering topics ranging from the origins of the Inca and the secrets hidden in Vedic literature, to the architecture of the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx, to unified theories of physics and consciousness, this book shows how, by recovering our lost history, we too can experience the higher consciousness and advanced wisdom of the ancients.

Book excerpt: This is a compilation of historical accounts that contradict everything we have been taught about ancient America. The accounts are substantiated by the testimony of the Native Americans who lived in the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley regions of North America. American Indians speak of a people who were skilled in arts and engaged in trade whose remains could be found in the burial mounds. These legends are validated by the hundreds of miles of canals extending into the Mississippi River and the extensive copper and lead mines. Early settlers in the Ohio Valley described ancient cities with well-defined evidence of streets laid out at regular intervals and intersected at right angles with other streets. Stone macadamized roads were also evidence of an industrious people engaged in commerce. New information from the British Isles places the Celtic peoples on the Island earlier than previously believed. The Celtic pagan religion is superimposed on ancient sites in the Ohio Valley with indistinguishable characteristics. Ancient ceremonial sites in the Ohio Valley are re-examined under the looking glass of the Celtic Gods and Goddesses. The ancient mound builders practiced a cult of the dead and buried their deceased in burial mounds to act as portals to connect the living with the dead. These portals remain open today and are the gateways for much of the paranormal activity found in the Great Lakes region. While not the focus of the stories presented, many of the skeletons discovered at the ancient sites were of gigantic size. The connection to the paranormal is elaborated in the Book of Enoch, "And now the Giants, who have been begotten from body and flesh, will be called evil spirits on earth, and their dwelling-places will be upon the earth." New documentation is presented that solves the mystery of who were the Hopewell Mound Builders. The Dakota Sioux legends place them in the Ohio Valley at the time when the great geometric earthworks were being constructed. They were called "The Snake People" by the Algonquins. Identical serpent effigies are found in the historic Dakota lands that overlap the Hopewell interaction sphere. Other Indians tribes concur in their legends that this was true along with age-old place names that corroborate the Dakota Sioux as the builders of the effigy mounds in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio and Indiana.

Book excerpt: "Called the ""Reader's Digest of New England Archaeology,"" by experts in the field, this book covers all finds and sits by amateur and professional ancient artifact hunters since America was first settled. Hundreds of messages were cut into stone by unknown ancient settlers. Carved faces, well-made homes of rock, Celtic ritual sites, dolmens, and other ancient remnants are scattered throughout the New England states, making it quite apparent that visitors from other lands lived here hundreds of years before Columbus discovered America. Ancient coins, weapons, lamps, containers and art objects have been uncovered as well -- all well documented and described, with photos in this fascinating book."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The nursery rhyme begins, "In fourteen hundred and ninety two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue." Less well-known is the line that follows: "...to learn if the old maps were true." How can there be "old maps" of a land no one knew existed? Were others here before Columbus? What were their reasons for coming and what unexplained artifacts did they leave behind? The oceans were highways to America rather than barriers, and when discoverers put ashore, they were greeted by unusual inhabitants. In Discovering the Mysteries of Ancient America, the author of The Atlantis Encyclopedia turns his sextant towards this hemisphere. Here is a collection of the most controversial articles selected from seventy issues of the infamous Ancient American magazine. They range from the discovery of Roman relics in Arizona and California's Chinese treasure, to Viking rune-stones in Minnesota and Oklahoma and the mysterious religions of ancient Americans. Many questions will be raised including: -- What role did extraterrestrials have in the lives of ancient civilizations? -- What ancient pyramids and towers tell us about the people who built them? Are they some sort of portals to another dimension? -- What prehistoric technologies have been discovered, and what can they tell us about early settlers, their religious beliefs, and possible other-worldy visitors? -- Did El Dorado exist, and what of the legendary Fountain of Youth? -- Was Atlantis in Cuba? -- What are America's lost races and what happened to them? Discovering the Mysteries of Ancient America brings to the fore the once-hidden true past of America's earliest civilizations.
