Book excerpt: If you have ever suffered from the pain of kidney stones and you want more information about exactly what is causing it ... and more importantly, how to get rid of them and help prevent it from happening again... ...or even just what your different treatment options are... ...then this book was written just for you. Here's the story: Totally and unexpectedly, I started getting horrible pains in my stomach. You know the feeling...the burning, the involuntary bending over. It's ten times worse than any stomach ache. The pain gets so bad you know that you got some serious issues going on... I tried aspirin, lying down, and cold ice packs. But Nothing Seemed To Help It got so bad I had to see a doctor. He told me I had kidney stones and they were still small and could be treated with prescription drugs. But I'm weary of prescription medications side effects and decided to hold off before I read more about the different medications. As it turns out, I found out that there were a lot of other options I could try first before using the prescription meds... most of them work to treat the symptoms (not the actual cause of your kidney stones) Plus, there can be side effects. All I am saying is... How I became a kidney stone expert Ok, I'm not really an expert-but I've done WAY more research on kidney stones than the average person. I started my research on the internet...And I spent a lot of time in the library looking through health books, magazines and articles... Not only did I discover a ton of information about how the body works and what causes kidney stones I also found out about all the different options to treat or prevent kidney stones. After pouring over hundreds of articles... reading tons of web sites... and flipping through a truck load of books I finally discovered a natural remedy that worked for me! Relief with this natural remedy was safe and extremely easy, and it's so SIMPLE that most people completely overlook it. After just a few weeks I was starting to feel relief... a few more and there was no pain at all... and in just months I visited my doctor again to hear the kidney stones had completely dissolved. After everything was better again, I realized something else. I had learned a LOT of information that could help other people who were suffering like me. So I compiled all my research and created the straight-to-the-point, simple guide I wish I could have found when I was looking for a solution to my kidney stone problems.

Stones vary in chemical composition. Basically, calcium, urate, struvite, and cystine are detected. However, in some people, different types of stones can occur simultaneously. If a person begins to produce less urine or in the urine, the concentration of calcium, oxalate, cystine and uric acid increases crystals begin to form. They will linger in the kidneys and, gradually increasing in size, form stones.Where do these stones come from? There are many conditions that increase the risk of developing urolithiasis, from frequent urinary tract infections and obesity to gout and various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Also at risk are people who drink little fluid, and those who have already experienced urolithiasis, the likelihood of relapse is quite high. For example, within five years after the discovery of the first stone, the probability that the second, according to various sources, will appear from 35 to 50%.If you want to know more about how to prevent and treat Kidney Stones, get a copy of this book to learn more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Urolithiasis is not only one of the most frequently encountered diseases at uro logical clinics; it is also the disorder whose treatment has shown the most rapid progress in the past decade. In that period, medicine has experienced a real revolution, characterized by minimally invasive treatments, improvement of the quality of life, and cost-effectiveness in treatment outcomes. In urology, the revolution started with the development of endoscopic retrograde treatment of urolithiasis in the upper urinary tract, which led to development of the percuta neous antegrade maneuver in the latter half of the 1970s. The most remarkable event occurred in 1982, when clinical use of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy was introduced by the Munich group, represented by Dr. Christian Chaussy, at the 18th Congress of the International Society of Urology in San Francisco. With the advent of these new strategies, open surgery for urolithiasis has all but dis appeared. Today, with the availability of new technology and equipment, guide lines for the treatment of urolithiasis have changed in all developed countries. It is quite timely that the Meeting of International Consultation on Urolithiasis will be held in Paris in June 2001 to establish international guidelines for urolithiasis. Looking through this textbook for urolithiasis, I was greatly impressed to learn that we have already drawn up some guidelines. The book includes all the updated advances of urolithiasis presented by the most prominent and experi enced urologists from all around the world.
