Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of dreams, poems, and messages were written over a period of time. The words in this book are an interpretation of experiences along a journey. A journey of reaching out for resonance within the universe, and finding messages to help along the way. Some came with dreams. Some came with meditation. Some may resonate, and some may not. Navigating through life's wide range of experiences, some are raw and gritty truths, but there is also hope and optimism. Looking at past relationships and interactions, from a place of nonresistance, and being able to appreciate the experiences for what they were. Each one had an importance in shaping and helping to clearly understand the want from life. Connection to the wellbeing of source energy, shows us that we all have purpose, that we all have value, that we all are eternal, and worthy of the life that we desire.

Book Synopsis Volume 1, Tome I: Kierkegaard and the Bible - The Old Testament by : Jon Stewart
Download or read book Volume 1, Tome I: Kierkegaard and the Bible - The Old Testament written by Jon Stewart and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-12-05 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Exploring Kierkegaard's complex use of the Bible, the essays in this volume use source-critical research and tools ranging from literary criticism to theology and biblical studies, to situate Kierkegaard's appropriation of the biblical material in his cultural and intellectual context. The contributors seek to identify the possible sources that may have influenced Kierkegaard's understanding and employment of Scripture, and to describe the debates about the Bible that may have shaped, perhaps indirectly, his attitudes toward Scripture. They also pay close attention to Kierkegaard's actual hermeneutic practice, analyzing the implicit interpretive moves that he makes as well as his more explicit statements about the significance of various biblical passages. This close reading of Kierkegaard's texts elucidates the unique and sometimes odd features of his frequent appeals to Scripture. This volume in the series devotes one tome to the Old Testament and a second tome to the New Testament. Tome I considers the canonically disputed literature of the Apocrypha. Although Kierkegaard certainly cited the Old Testament much less frequently than he did the New, passages and themes from the Old Testament do occupy a position of startling importance in his writings. Old Testament characters such as Abraham and Job often play crucial and even decisive roles in his texts. Snatches of Old Testament wisdom figure prominently in his edifying literature. The vocabulary and cadences of the Psalms saturate his expression of the range of human passions from joy to despair. The essays in this first tome seek to elucidate the crucial rhetorical uses to which he put key passages from the Old Testament, the sources that influenced him to do this, and his reasons for doing so.
Download or read book Tiny Musings written by Mitalee Dabral and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2019-07-05 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Some things are better left unsaid, unless of course you find the right words.” Tiny Musings gives voice and words to those moments that get acknowledged silently. It’s a poetic nod to life and her eccentricities. Each piece captures the poetry in motion as it happens – be it the beautiful memories of togetherness in ‘Clothes Pegs’ or the magical intimacy of a conversation in ‘Over a Cup of Coffee.’ Some are thought provoking like ‘Let’s break the rules of beauty,’ as it questions and redefines the conventional premise of beauty in society while some tug at the heart strings like ‘Girlfriends’ which captures the unspoken camaraderie and sisterhood girlfriends share among themselves. ‘Here and now’ in a few lines brings you face to face with the banality of finding forevers in life. Flipping through the pages, you find yourself smiling, chuckling, longing and even reminiscing as you think about all that has gone by and all that can be. The fleeting moments find meaning, the heartbreaks find closure, the individuality gains precedence, and the absurd becomes amusing.

Download or read book Wordsworth written by Juliet Barker and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2009-10-13 with total page 578 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The figure of William Wordsworth looms over the nineteenth century like a presiding genius. Sage, seer, and Poet Laureate, Wordsworth was revered by his Victorian contemporaries as a writer of tender, lyrical poetry, a controversial challenger of social and artistic convention, a devoted champion of country life, and the spiritual founder of the conservation movement. In this masterful work, the first biography to fully examine Wordsworth's entire life, critically acclaimed biographer Juliet Barker draws on unpublished sources to present a new picture of him as both public icon and private family man. Balancing meticulous research with engaging prose, she reveals not only the public figure who was courted and reviled in equal measure but also the complex, elusive, private citizen behind that image, vividly re-creating the intimacy of Wordsworth's domestic circle, showing the love, laughter, loyalty, and tragedies that bound them together. Wordsworth is a major biography of one of the world's foremost poets, and a rich, unforgettable portrait of a fascinating and fiercely passionate man.

Book Synopsis Reveries of the Solitary Walker by : Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Download or read book Reveries of the Solitary Walker written by Jean-Jacques Rousseau and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2011-07-14 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'These hours of solitude and meditation are the only time of the day when I am completely myself' Reveries of the Solitary Walker is Rousseau's last great work, the product of his final years of exile from the society that condemned his political and religious views. Returning to Paris the philosopher determines to keep a faithful record of the thoughts and ideas that come to him on his perambulations. Part reminiscence, part reflection, enlivened by anecdote and encounters, the Reveries form a kind of sequel to his Confessions, but they are more introspective and less defensive: Rousseau finds happiness in solitude, walks in nature, botanizing, and meditation. Writing an account of his walks becomes a means of achieving self-knowledge and safeguarding for himself the pleasure that others, he is convinced, seek to deny him. The Reveries, shaped by the unmediated nature of Rousseau's thought processes, give powerfully lyrical expression to a painfully tortured soul in search of peace. This new translation is accompanied by an introduction and notes that explore the nature of the work and its historical, literary, and intellectual contexts. ABOUT THE SERIES: For over 100 years Oxford World's Classics has made available the widest range of literature from around the globe. Each affordable volume reflects Oxford's commitment to scholarship, providing the most accurate text plus a wealth of other valuable features, including expert introductions by leading authorities, helpful notes to clarify the text, up-to-date bibliographies for further study, and much more.
