Book Synopsis Multilinear Operator Integrals by : Anna Skripka
Download or read book Multilinear Operator Integrals written by Anna Skripka and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-12-01 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive treatment of multilinear operator integral techniques. The exposition is structured to be suitable for a course on methods and applications of multilinear operator integrals and also as a research aid. The ideas and contributions to the field are surveyed and up-to-date results and methods are presented. Most practical constructions of multiple operator integrals are included along with fundamental technical results and major applications to smoothness properties of operator functions (Lipschitz and Hölder continuity, differentiability), approximation of operator functions, spectral shift functions, spectral flow in the setting of noncommutative geometry, quantum differentiability, and differentiability of noncommutative L^p-norms. Main ideas are demonstrated in simpler cases, while more involved, technical proofs are outlined and supplemented with references. Selected open problems in the field are also presented.
Book Synopsis Multilinear Singular Integral Forms of Christ-Journe Type by : Andreas Seeger
Download or read book Multilinear Singular Integral Forms of Christ-Journe Type written by Andreas Seeger and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2019-02-21 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We introduce a class of multilinear singular integral forms which generalize the Christ-Journe multilinear forms. The research is partially motivated by an approach to Bressan’s problem on incompressible mixing flows. A key aspect of the theory is that the class of operators is closed under adjoints (i.e. the class of multilinear forms is closed under permutations of the entries). This, together with an interpolation, allows us to reduce the boundedness.
Book Synopsis Variable Lebesgue Spaces by : David V. Cruz-Uribe
Download or read book Variable Lebesgue Spaces written by David V. Cruz-Uribe and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-02-12 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an accessible introduction to the theory of variable Lebesgue spaces. These spaces generalize the classical Lebesgue spaces by replacing the constant exponent p with a variable exponent p(x). They were introduced in the early 1930s but have become the focus of renewed interest since the early 1990s because of their connection with the calculus of variations and partial differential equations with nonstandard growth conditions, and for their applications to problems in physics and image processing. The book begins with the development of the basic function space properties. It avoids a more abstract, functional analysis approach, instead emphasizing an hands-on approach that makes clear the similarities and differences between the variable and classical Lebesgue spaces. The subsequent chapters are devoted to harmonic analysis on variable Lebesgue spaces. The theory of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator is completely developed, and the connections between variable Lebesgue spaces and the weighted norm inequalities are introduced. The other important operators in harmonic analysis - singular integrals, Riesz potentials, and approximate identities - are treated using a powerful generalization of the Rubio de Francia theory of extrapolation from the theory of weighted norm inequalities. The final chapter applies the results from previous chapters to prove basic results about variable Sobolev spaces.

Book Synopsis Classical and Multilinear Harmonic Analysis: Volume 2 by : Camil Muscalu
Download or read book Classical and Multilinear Harmonic Analysis: Volume 2 written by Camil Muscalu and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2013-01-31 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This two-volume text in harmonic analysis introduces a wealth of analytical results and techniques. It is largely self-contained and useful to graduates and researchers in pure and applied analysis. Numerous exercises and problems make the text suitable for self-study and the classroom alike. The first volume starts with classical one-dimensional topics: Fourier series; harmonic functions; Hilbert transform. Then the higher-dimensional Calderón–Zygmund and Littlewood–Paley theories are developed. Probabilistic methods and their applications are discussed, as are applications of harmonic analysis to partial differential equations. The volume concludes with an introduction to the Weyl calculus. The second volume goes beyond the classical to the highly contemporary and focuses on multilinear aspects of harmonic analysis: the bilinear Hilbert transform; Coifman–Meyer theory; Carleson's resolution of the Lusin conjecture; Calderón's commutators and the Cauchy integral on Lipschitz curves. The material in this volume has not previously appeared together in book form.

Book Synopsis Discrete Analogues in Harmonic Analysis by : Ben Krause
Download or read book Discrete Analogues in Harmonic Analysis written by Ben Krause and published by American Mathematical Society. This book was released on 2023-01-19 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This timely book explores certain modern topics and connections at the interface of harmonic analysis, ergodic theory, number theory, and additive combinatorics. The main ideas were pioneered by Bourgain and Stein, motivated by questions involving averages over polynomial sequences, but the subject has grown significantly over the last 30 years, through the work of many researchers, and has steadily become one of the most dynamic areas of modern harmonic analysis. The author has succeeded admirably in choosing and presenting a large number of ideas in a mostly self-contained and exciting monograph that reflects his interesting personal perspective and expertise into these topics. —Alexandru Ionescu, Princeton University Discrete harmonic analysis is a rapidly developing field of mathematics that fuses together classical Fourier analysis, probability theory, ergodic theory, analytic number theory, and additive combinatorics in new and interesting ways. While one can find good treatments of each of these individual ingredients from other sources, to my knowledge this is the first text that treats the subject of discrete harmonic analysis holistically. The presentation is highly accessible and suitable for students with an introductory graduate knowledge of analysis, with many of the basic techniques explained first in simple contexts and with informal intuitions before being applied to more complicated problems; it will be a useful resource for practitioners in this field of all levels. —Terence Tao, University of California, Los Angeles

Book Synopsis $p$-Adic Analysis, Arithmetic and Singularities by : Carlos Galindo
Download or read book $p$-Adic Analysis, Arithmetic and Singularities written by Carlos Galindo and published by American Mathematical Society. This book was released on 2022-05-11 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the 2019 Lluís A. Santaló Summer School on $p$-Adic Analysis, Arithmetic and Singularities, which was held from June 24–28, 2019, at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, Santander, Spain. The main purpose of the book is to present and analyze different incarnations of the local zeta functions and their multiple connections in mathematics and theoretical physics. Local zeta functions are ubiquitous objects in mathematics and theoretical physics. At the mathematical level, local zeta functions contain geometry and arithmetic information about the set of zeros defined by a finite number of polynomials. In terms of applications in theoretical physics, these functions play a central role in the regularization of Feynman amplitudes and Koba-Nielsen-type string amplitudes, among other applications. This volume provides a gentle introduction to a very active area of research that lies at the intersection of number theory, $p$-adic analysis, algebraic geometry, singularity theory, and theoretical physics. Specifically, the book introduces $p$-adic analysis, the theory of Archimedean, $p$-adic, and motivic zeta functions, singularities of plane curves and their Poincaré series, among other similar topics. It also contains original contributions in the aforementioned areas written by renowned specialists. This book is an important reference for students and experts who want to delve quickly into the area of local zeta functions and their many connections in mathematics and theoretical physics.
