Book Synopsis Moses, the Servant of God by : Stephen Kaung
Download or read book Moses, the Servant of God written by Stephen Kaung and published by Christian Fellowship Publishers. This book was released on 2018-05-23 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The life of Moses is most inspiring. At a certain point in that life he was called by God to be "My servant." Indeed, living for 120 years, Moses' servanthood was divided into three periods of 40 years each. During the first 40 years Moses tried to serve God according to his own way—which was the way he had learned from the world. So, during the second 40 years of his life, which was spent entirely out in the desert wilderness of Midian, Moses had to unlearn all he had learned previously, and also he had to learn God. Finally, throughout the entire concluding 40-year period of his long life, Moses was used by God as His faithful servant. Let us see that, like Moses, in order to be able to serve God, we must first unlearn all which we have learned from the world. Then, and only then, can anyone serve God. A true servant of God must be selfless and be absolutely obedient to God. He may suffer incessantly from others, but he will be approved by God. And this is all that matters. May we all learn to serve God as Moses did!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "F.B. Meyer's devotional studies on biblical characters reflect a rare depth of spiritual experience. These great figures were not so different from ourselves--sometimes weak, indifferent, willful. Yet they had their moments of faith, humility, and courage, and God was able to use these for His greater purposes. God's faithfulness, which not only accepts but transforms such inconsistency, calls us to more effective Christian living.

Book Synopsis The Servant of the Lord and His Servant People by : MATTHEW S. HARMON

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is often recognized that the title ‘servant’ is applied to key figures throughout the Bible, culminating in Jesus Christ. Matthew Harmon carefully traces this theme from Genesis to Revelation, examining how earlier ‘servants’ point forwards to the ultimate Servant. While this theme is significant in its own right throughout redemptive history, it also plays a supporting role, enhancing and enriching other themes, such as son, prophet and king. Harmon shows how the title ‘servant’ not only gives us a clearer understanding of Jesus Christ but also has profound implications for our lives as Christians. When we grasp what it means to be servants of Christ, our love for him and our obedience to him deepen. Understanding that the ultimate Servant, Jesus Christ, indwells his people, to empower them to serve others in love, has the potential to transform how we interact with fellow believers and the world around us.

Book Synopsis Lessons for God's Servants by : Steven J Cole
Download or read book Lessons for God's Servants written by Steven J Cole and published by . This book was released on 2020-05-04 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you have trusted in Christ as your Savior, you no longer belong to yourself. "You've been bought with a price" (1 Cor. 6:20). You now belong to the Lord. As such, you're His slave or servant. But many Christians erroneously think that if they're serving the Lord in some capacity, life will be sweet. After all, you're doing the Lord's work. Won't He protect and bless you? I'm not sure where these naïve ideas come from, but it's certain that they don't come from reading the Bible. Studying the life of God's servant, Moses, will help correct these mistaken expectations. He was one of the Lord's greatest servants in the Bible, yet he faced numerous hardships, setbacks, and criticism. This is volume one of two on the life of Moses. I pray that these chapters will help you in whatever way you serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Book Synopsis Moses: God's Faithful Servant by : Cyril J. Barber
Download or read book Moses: God's Faithful Servant written by Cyril J. Barber and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2012-03-15 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Great are the works of the Lord; They are studied by all who delight in them" (Psalm 111:2, NASB). When treating the life of Moses the psalmist wrote: "The Lord remembered His promise given to his servant Abraham, and brought His people out of Egypt with rejoicing, His chosen ones with shouts of joy. He also gave them the lands of the nations, that they might take possession of the fruit of other people's labor ..." (Psalm 105:42-44) The story of the Exodus is an intriguing one. Moses first attempted to help his people without God's call, expecting success as a result of his own ability. In the end he never undertook anything without God's guidance, and it is no wonder that He is linked with Samuel as an example of the power of intercessory prayer (Jeremiah 15:1). As to Moses' character, the only strong personal trait which we are able to glean from the biblical text comes from Numbers 12:3, where the word "meek" should be rendered "much enduring, or strength under control," for he persevered through extremely difficult, trying circumstances. It is no wonder, therefore, that after performing the task the Lord had given him, he became known as a man of enduring faith (cf. Hebrews 11:24-29).
