Messing, combined with poignant inspirational quotes and Scripture verses. These faith-filled poems and passages offer uplifting and encouraging insight on many topics such as: loving God, worshiping and serving Him, His care and provision, contentment, forgiveness, prayer, and God's calling. Savor moments of quiet reflection and hear God's sweet whisper of love for you today as you read "Morning's Promise.""Morning's Promise: Poetic Moments in His Presence," is a beautifully written and elegantly designed devotional book for women. Scripture verses, quotes and original poems are shared from the heart of a poet who has a special connection with the Lord. They fall into five categories: God's Call and Guidance; Faith and Trust; God's Care and Provision; Loving God; Serving God at Home. Verse upon verse, each poem is thoughtfully written to focus the poet's mind on God and helps the reader speak to God what she feels in her heart but has not enough words to express. It's a book one doesn't want to rush through; the kind one will dip into daily, take along on a journey and recommend to friends. "Morning's Promise" is a book to cherish. - A 5-Star review by: Sylvia Stewart, missionary and author of KONDI'S QUEST

Book excerpt: In the realm of poetry, where words dance upon the precipice of emotions and thoughts, "Eyes of the Heart: A Century of Poetic Vision" emerges as a kaleidoscope of a hundred vibrant poems. Each verse within this collection serves as a window into the myriad landscapes of the human experience, exploring themes as diverse as the tapestry of life itself. Within these pages, the reader embarks on a transcendent journey through the intricacies of nature, witnessing the whispered secrets of the seasons, the tempestuous dance of the ocean, and the ethereal whispers of the wind. Amidst chaos and resilience, these poems echo the resilience of the human spirit, standing tall amidst the tumultuous storms, finding solace in the symphony of life's chaos. Enchantment weaves through the verses, painting pictures of timeless moments, inviting readers to wander through realms where time stands still, and the heart finds solace in the embrace of beauty. Yet, alongside the enchantment lies the essence of shadow, where the play of light and dark accentuates the nuances of existence, beckoning contemplation. As the poems unravel, themes of reckoning and timelessness intertwine, mirroring the eternal struggle against the passage of time while embracing the eternal essence of the human soul. Each poem serves as a mirror reflecting the collective heartbeat of a century, capturing the essence of moments frozen in the sands of time. "Eyes of the Heart: A Century of Poetic Vision" doesn't merely encapsulate a century's worth of poetic musings; it embodies the essence of being human, celebrating the profound connection between our experiences and the universe at large. It invites the reader to witness life through the lens of a poet's heart, where every verse is a mosaic piece stitching together the fabric of our shared existence. May these poems be a guide, offering solace to the weary heart, inspiration to the wandering mind, and a sanctuary to the seeking soul. May they resonate within, reminding us of the profound beauty and complexity that defines our journey through the ever-evolving tapestry of life. This collection stands as a testament to the power of poetic vision, illuminating the world through the eyes of the heart.

Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the study of the bilingual “parallel poems” of Ludwig Strauss (Aachen 1892 ˗ Jerusalem 1953) created between 1934 and 1952 in Palestine/Israel and which exist in two variants, a Hebrew and a German version, one of which is the original and the other a self-translation. The aim of this study is to compare the versions and their interpretation based on Strauss’s theoretical essays on poetry and translation, his political writings and works of literary criticism. Special attention is paid to Strauss’s concept (linked with the idea of messianic redemption) of poetry as a “fore-image” of a future true community of men and as “the earthly expression of the Absolute” directed at interpreting divine revelation and its “translation” into human language. In examining Strauss’s experiments with self-translation, by which he aimed at establishing a dialogue between languages, and between people and nations, this study considers the two processes of translation: from divine speech into human language and from one human language into another.

These short devotions, taken from every book of the Bible give Christians on the go a quick but nourishing word for the day. Having a hearty appetite for the Word of God is as essential to our spiritual walk as the manna the Israelites gathered each morning was for the nourishment of their physical bodies, during their journey through the desert. Daily "Manna Moments" prompt the reader into a time of reflection and application of the Word. The tasty morsels of Scripture in this book are the result of the author's application of Romans 15:4 which says: Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
