Il s'avère donc crucial de disposer d'outils capables de calculer rapidement les efforts subis en service, pour les dimensionner correctement. Les éoliennes sont des systèmes mécaniques complexes composés de corps rigides ou flexibles. La plupart des codes actuels ne traitent correctement que la partie relative au calcul des efforts aérodynamiques et reposent sur des hypothèses pouvant s'avérer trop simplificatrices en ce qui concerne le calcul des efforts dynamiques, surtout si la taille des rotors augmente Le but de ce travail a donc été de modéliser le comportement dynamique des machines en évitant toute simplification qui pourrait nuire à la précision des résultats. Pour cela, le formalisme de Kane employé, ainsi que la description de la chaîne cinématique de la machine par arborescence topologique, permet une construction récursive et numérique des équations, facilitant son traitement algorithmique, sans simplification. La méthode développée pour le cas le plus général permet ainsi de modéliser tout type d'éolienne, grâce aux améliorations apportées au formalisme de base. Elle prend en compte le comportement des corps rigides (nacelle) et flexibles (pales), pour lesquels la souplesse a été introduite par l'intermédiaire d'une représentation modale. Un code de calcul a été écrit et validé sur quelques cas simples par comparaison avec des solutions analytiques exactes. Le calcul des efforts aérodynamiques a ensuite été couplé afin de modéliser le comportement mécanique d'une éolienne à partir de données réalistes.

Ces machines peuvent être classées dans la catégorie des systèmes souples polyarticulés. La majorité des codes de calcul des efforts subis par les éoliennes développés jusqu'alors, se sont surtout focalisés sur la prédiction des efforts aérodynamiques s'exerçant sur le rotor. En outre, ils adoptent très souvent des hypothèses trop simplificatrices sur le comportement dynamique de ce type de machine. Cette thèse s'efforce de combler cette lacune, en proposant une démarche de calcul principalement fondée sur les formalismes récents, relatifs à l'étude dynamique des systèmes souples polyarticulés. L'application du formalisme de Kane et d'un schéma topologique arborescent débouché sur une écriture récursive des équations de la dynamique, adaptée à une transposition algorithmique du problème. Les souplesses des différents corps sont introduites par le biais de leur représentation modale. Les pales constituant la partie principale de la machine, leur représentation modale doit refléter leur comportement réel. Par conséquent, elle découle d'une modélisation éléments finis de type poutre, prenant en compte leur géométrie complexe ainsi que l'anisotropie des matériaux qui les composent. Les efforts aérodynamiques sont, quant à eux, déterminés par l'application de la théorie combinée ou tourbillonnaire (type sillage prescrit). La résolution du système d'équations est fondée sur un schéma d'intégration temporelle. Un code de calcul a été écrit sur la base de ces développements, permettant un calcul des efforts en régime de vent stationnaire.

Dans un premier temps, nous presentons des simulations numeriques d'un ecoulement bidimensionnel, incompressible et turbulent autour de pale dont le profil est de type naca 4415 a sections variables. Le maillage de l'ecoulement est structure autour du profil et non-structure loin du profil, tandis que le maillage de la pale est effectue par des elements poutre. Ces investigations concernent les cas stationnaire et instationnaire. Apres avoir valide les resultats aerodynamiques issus d'un code de calcul par comparaison avec des resultats experimentaux disponibles dans la litterature, la programmation d'une technique de parametrisation a permis de predire correctement les coefficients de portance, de trainee et de tangage. Les coefficients sont evalues en fonction de l'angle d'attaque, de la vitesse relative du vent, de la position le long de la pale et du temps. Le code de calcul utilise est appele ns-2d.
