Book Synopsis Nonlinear Dynamics and Stochastic Mechanics by : Wolfgang Kliemann
Download or read book Nonlinear Dynamics and Stochastic Mechanics written by Wolfgang Kliemann and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-05-04 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Engineering systems have played a crucial role in stimulating many of the modern developments in nonlinear and stochastic dynamics. After 20 years of rapid progress in these areas, this book provides an overview of the current state of nonlinear modeling and analysis for mechanical and structural systems. This volume is a coherent compendium written by leading experts from the United States, Canada, Western and Eastern Europe, and Australia. The 22 articles describe the background, recent developments, applications, and future directions in bifurcation theory, chaos, perturbation methods, stochastic stability, stochastic flows, random vibrations, reliability, disordered systems, earthquake engineering, and numerics. The book gives readers a sophisticated toolbox that will allow them to tackle modeling problems in mechanical systems that use stochastic and nonlinear dynamics ideas. An extensive bibliography and index ensure this volume will remain a reference standard for years to come.

Book Synopsis Random Differential Equations in Scientific Computing by : Tobias Neckel
Download or read book Random Differential Equations in Scientific Computing written by Tobias Neckel and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2013-12-17 with total page 650 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a holistic and self-contained treatment of the analysis and numerics of random differential equations from a problem-centred point of view. An interdisciplinary approach is applied by considering state-of-the-art concepts of both dynamical systems and scientific computing. The red line pervading this book is the two-fold reduction of a random partial differential equation disturbed by some external force as present in many important applications in science and engineering. First, the random partial differential equation is reduced to a set of random ordinary differential equations in the spirit of the method of lines. These are then further reduced to a family of (deterministic) ordinary differential equations. The monograph will be of benefit, not only to mathematicians, but can also be used for interdisciplinary courses in informatics and engineering.
Book Synopsis Reliability Problems: General Principles and Applications in Mechanics of Solids and Structures by : F. Casciati
Download or read book Reliability Problems: General Principles and Applications in Mechanics of Solids and Structures written by F. Casciati and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-05-04 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this volume is to present to researchers and engineers working on problems concerned with the mechanics of solids and structures, the current state of the development and application to procedures for assessing the reliability of a system. Particular attention is paid to their use in the analysis of complex engineering systems. The topics covered reflect the need to integrate, within the overall methodology, statistical methods for dealing with uncertain parameters and random excitation with the development of a suitable safety indexes and design codes. The basic principles of reliability theory, together with current standard methodology, including a consideration of the operational, economic and legal aspects of reliability assurance, is reviewed, together with an introduction to new developments, such as the application of expert systems technology. Damage accumulation predictions, with applications in seismic engineering are also covered.

Book Synopsis Nonlinear Structural Systems Under Random Conditions by : Fabio Casciati
Download or read book Nonlinear Structural Systems Under Random Conditions written by Fabio Casciati and published by Elsevier Publishing Company. This book was released on 1990 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers in this volume form a bridge between the mathematical and engineering theories in the application of stochastic differential equations. The engineering aspects are represented by a broad spectrum of potential applications and their heuristic or pragmatic approaches to a variety of problems. The mathematical aspects discuss the errors inherent in numerical procedures and provide appropriate theoretical frameworks. The 27 papers presented in this volume testify to the achievement of Euromech 250 in bringing engineers and mathematicians together in the successful dissemination of recent developments in nonlinear structural systems.
